I'm perfectly fine still being able to afford parts easily. I don't know the Supra market too well, but I just saw in the current issue of DSPORT that a stock MKIV Supra Turbo transmission can easily sell for more than $3000! OMG I'm sure in a lot of car communities that's commonplace, but I'd...
How was I not comparing apples to apples? Those were only examples that Japanese cars have potential to go up in value. There were only a few models even around then because Japanese manufacturers got to the market late so that discussion is pretty much done.I very much agree. It's ridiculous...
I realize that comparisons need to be made because most people didn't care about Japanese cars at all until the 90s, but this isn't meant to be an import vs domestic battle. I don't care if Mustang guys stereotype imports as "chick cars." That honestly seems to be an old school mindset that's...
While looks are subjective I completely disagree with this.1. I never intended this discussion to be exclusive to DSMs.
2. I realize Fox Bodies have gone back up in value a surprising amount, but a lot of the completed listings on ebay for them are under $5k.
At the same time though Fox Bodies are not exactly know for being aesthetically appealing, it is just that they are cheap to make fast. I see what you're saying, but I'm not so sure if I agree. Also positive/negative attention definitely isn't exclusive to domestics/imports. I'd say that goes...
I definitely see your point, but part of that is because Japanese cars didn't get big until the 90's. Do you think people will spend more on Fox Bodies in a few decades than they will on say an MR-2, Supra, FD RX-7, or an Integra Type R/GSR? The style of those cars represents that era well to...
All Mustangs are collectable, but I don't see any inherent advantages a Fox Body would have over a DSM. I'd say it's just as much of a cult car. Most non-car guys probably wouldn't say that Fox Bodies are good looking cars. I'll bet Miatas end up being worth more. :D
Found one!1991 TSi AWD with 51,401 Miles, purchased from the original owner, bone stock, even the factory stereo was repaired, 100% bone stock, never modified, $9500
That's exactly what I was getting at with this thread. There's a few cars I'm already kicking myself in the ass for selling.I challenge anyone to find an ad for a bone stock 1g awd.
Modern collectibles revealed: the 1991-1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 & 1991-1996 Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo:beatentodeath: Back from the dead. In 2025 will DSMs be worth more than a 3S since they have a bigger following now? What would you personally pay a ridiculous amount for once these cars...
Mattmullin, Good job with the video and for going with a unique build. I'm sure it's not to everyone's taste aesthetically, but you definitely succeed in getting sideways and having fun! Cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed, nice work man!Stockfornow, I may be blind here, but I couldn't...
Subscribed. Those interior shots made my whole day better! lol I can't wait to see what all you guys do with it.Rahr is pretty awesome too! I got to try some of that in Fort Worth. There's a craft beer place there called Flying Saucer that's well worth the drive. Keep up the good work guys!
Yea, it's Ken Block, but he conquers one of the toughest Formula D courses.KEN BLOCK AWD DRIFTS IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY - SpeedhuntersI think this thread has run it's course. There's plenty of evidence that you can drift an AWD car. It's not logical from a financial stand point because you...
It's finally official. My 2g TSI AWD is gone. Thanks for all of the help guys! I'll stop back to share anything I find that's relevant to DSMs, but I'm going to get into my Evo and MR2 Turbo now. Don't think for a second I won't defend them though! Thanks again everyone!P.S. You guys...
DSM_PWR that bay is amazing! You can tell it took a ton of work. It's about time someone got a DSM together to rival the awesome bays Honda guys are doing now-a-days. We've been behind for a long time. :(
Keep it, you might end up missing it. I tried getting rid of mine after parting it out pretty far to get my Evo and I'm glad I didn't now. Gonna keep the Evo stock and reliable and make the DSM a beast. :D I love my Evo, but a low, wide, 2 door looks the part much better IMO.
Reminds me of this FD. I know there's plenty of cars with this done, but this is the first one I saw with this done a few years ago. F it, it's just a car have fun with it. Don't take life too seriously people, you'll never get out alive. ROFL
