The scraping noise is your TOB. I have had the same problem twice before. And you got me on the OP. I can't think of anything that would be that loud WITHOUT being in gear. Something with the input shaft? TOB rattling on it?? Sorry I couldn't be any better help.
The fluttering is compressor surge. Its a good start to breaking things, mildly put. Either you dont have your BOV vacuum line hooked up in the right place or its adjusted too stiff. And i think you have a problem with whatever boost control method you may be having. Leak test you lines to make...
Well you may have answered your question. Metal shavings and 2 hunks of metal but no pump. Did your fluid run low somehow? Some way? But I'm thinking the pump took a dump. And maybe the tranny was good 2 days ago, so WAS my alternator lol. These things happen as I'm sure you're already acustomed...
How about this. Since the location is at the moment undecided pending other mall goers, I'm going to be slightly late because of my work schedule. Someone give me a call or text where everyone finds everyone? That way I'm not the idiot driving around aimlessly having people suspect me of...
Yeah haha I was proud. Normally he's the one making me look stupid. He's good at it lol. We always joke around and make fun of the car. Some of the things he says are pretty clever. I'll see if I can sucker him into giving me another post tonight ROFL
My father is always getting on my ass because there is always something I'm fixing on my car. He tells me one day...Him - Now what was the engineering thought process behind beating on the underside of your hood a million times in just one spot just so it could close all the way because...
Blue wire. The end. lolBe careful not to load the signal, that sensor is one of your major inputs for fuel control. Mess it up and you'll have fuel control problems and possibly even a check engine light.
FPR? It is possible that the PCM isn't compensating for the larger injectors? Thats what it sounds like. And because it's just starting up, it would be operating in open loop mode. So the computer won't compensate for what all the sensors are reading. It just goes off of pre-programmed...
I say make sure you aren't running too much boost, and I'll also third the tune up. My car requires periodic cleaning of the plugs, otherwise it does the same thing.
Well one, there is no distributor. There are two coil packs on the top of the valvecover. You need to find out if you have spark somehow. And if you have been smelling gas then apparantly the pump is doing something. Is there a check engine light?Since you have been smelling gas, maybe...
With lightweight flywheels there will be sort of a chatter to it. But nothing that you'll be able to hear over any exhaust. Possibly the tob catching the fingers on the pressure plate. Does it only make the sound in nuetral? What was your pressure plate torqued down to?
I'll be there about 8ish, so I'll just look for everyone when I show up lol. That way it'll be obvious whether I'm in the right spot or not. But as long as we aren't ####ing anything up I don't percieve it as being a problem with security.
Both my buddy and I have had a problem with the engine breaking up pretty badly in boost and above 4500rpm. Pull out your plugs and see what they look like. Cleaning mine off really well fixed the problem every time
But just because his stock motor held the 25psi fine doesn't mean everyone else's could as well. I'd say run a little less just to be absolutely sure you won't mess anything up.
At least 90% of this is true I think.1 = If you've ever had to explain crankwalk to a mechanic....
2 = If you have a garage full of spare engines, just in case....
3 = If you've tried to bolt your old 14b onto a riding lawnmower....
4 = If you've hit your head on the B-pillar during an...
i already started another thread, but would anyone be down for this?http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/tri-state-region-dsm/362496-3rd-annual-northeast-dsm-meet-mark-your-calendars.html
Whether they give you crap because its not turbo is irrelevant, it'd still be badass. And you would need a ballast for the HID's for them to work properly. I like what you've done to it. Very nice. And IMO if you want to lower it I'd highly recommend Eibach. And be careful with the boost, I'd...
Won't be the IAC, hence *idle* air controller. Your MAF may have shit on you, but it sounds like you have a bad boost leak, where are the negligible leaks at? But it is something with an input to your fuel control/metering.OH! nevermind, disregard... IAT not IAC.. Hook it up to a logger and...
Yeah, it's always done it, even when the vehicle drove off the showroom floor. Just now the exhaust is louder so it is more audible. The noise you're hearing is just a result of the exhaust gasses being expelled slower at the manifold as compared to the rear section of your exhaust. Kind of...
Haha yeah its almost deja vue! WTFBut heres the link to this one.
