Thanks. Can't be too fast, 10psi isn't really moving a lot of air.I wouldn't do a 600 or a 750 with a stock motor on pump gas. On E85 you can keep the compression stock, throw boost at it, and go places. To make power on pump you have to lower the compression. You can make 1000cc power with...
I only have one GoPro vid...and although it doesn't paint the DSM community in a bad light, it probably won't work out very well here. This thread isnt going anywhere so...Other bike has been 8.30 @ 165 with a built motor, this run was with a stock internals motor, so maybe a 155 trap bike...
Special thanks to Justin for the turbo rebuild and answering all my stupid questions! This thing pulls 150 trap bikes pretty well on the highway. Should trap about 160 if i don't sell it first.10psi with E85, small 16G, and a bunch of home brew fab work.
I've got to be honest, while the boost is relatively low, i don't consider this good power for a 65lb turbo with nitrous on a FWD.If this was my setup i'd go back to the drawing board.
Should be easy with an HX40!Absolutely, a cheap intercooler will kill a pump gas car. Can't make power on low octane without cool IATs.FWIW my setup made 442 on a mustang dyno on 93 without meth, and they only revved it to 7500 (not at the peak yet). Thanks :)
Make sure you torque the cam gear bolts to spec (cant recall off the top of my head but i think its 70+lbs). Under-torquing can damage or shear the dowels
I sold my 1G awhile back, new owner fixed some necessary issues, converted it to V3 with SD and retuned it with meth injection (system was already installed).Good solid street car, and tuned accordingly with 0 knock. 32psi pull was done hot, probably would have made more with cool down time...
No worries man. There isn't much info around because most people boost 1000-1400cc bike motors.A turbo bike has some major drawbacks, i'm just kicking the idea around a bit.
Ok good to know that thought actually crossed my mind.I was thinking K04 but if the K03 has the breath I'd rather do that.Bike revs to 14k so as long as it spools by 9k or so it's more than responsive enough. I don't want a torque monster, it's going to be tough to control the power if I...
Justin,What would you recommend for a budget turbo on a 750cc bike? Its a stock motor and has 12.3:1 compression. I'd probably drop to 10:1 or so with a head gasket or a set of pistons. Stock it probably makes about 125whp, i'd be looking for 225ish on 93 octane.I'll figure something out...
Yea it was time. There were a lot of factors and it was a very difficult decision for me, but i've been on the fence about it for a long time and it was finally time to let it go.I lost several thousand dollars, and have hundreds of hours of wrench time into the car, but with my current...
Save your money for a boosted setup. You're going to spend a bunch of money to make what, 25hp? Silly when you're working with one of the greatest AWD turbo platforms in history.
I'm out. :cry:I just ran out of time and money to keep throwing at the car. Hopefully the new owner enjoys it as much as i did.Lifetime street race kill percentage = 93%. (Hey, i'm a ghost now :p)She represented the breed well.
Really, a thread about fighting with your G/F over pizza money? There are 3,000,000,000 women on this planet. Kick the bi*** to the curb and move on.So glad i stayed single to the end of college. Slay bitches until one comes along that makes a relationship worth it.
4,000 Bigbean's style street miles at 400-450whp.I would have never chosen this clutch but it came with the car so i ran it.Here's why you don't use one of these clutches if you make power. :D
Justin,A buddy of mine is considering this for a low boost setup on a 2.5L I6 BMW. I'm not even sure what this turbo is exactly??Thoughts?Like New Garrett Turbo Ford TC-GT40-448315-1 - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum
Airflow distribution. Both flow well, but the Magnus has been proven to flow evenly from mild airflow levels to wild airflow levels. The JMF race design does not equate to even airflow distribution...and this theory has been backed up by my own real world experience. Cyl 4 on my car runs...
Running -2 or more is only really useful if you do a lot of hard cornering, which is going to hurt tire life anyway. My DD and track day toy wouldn't go much beyond 8K-10K miles on a set of tires, but it was even wear because i was constantly pushing it in corners. If i was just cruising down...
So i'm planning to sell my DSM in the near future, as well as my '11 Silverado. I've been trying to figure out a replacement vehicle, and keep going back and forth between a real car and a decent economy car. If i go with a real car, it has to be a good all-around street car. So far i've driven...
You recommend him a DSM flange manifold and a regular 30R, when the FP3052 he is already buying is nothing but a 3076R with a bolt on housing.Anyways, get a very good FMIC, 1000cc injectors, quality clutch, make sure the fuel pump is rewired, and honestly, i'd throw some cams in it.
Low 20s realistically. I like to play around.I could do better but i don't really care about MPG in the talon. This car is about smiles per gallon for me.BTW, Look into ETS intercoolers if you have the scratch. Top notch product.
1000cc injectors, and ditch the stock fuel filter. You'll need about 55lbs of air to comfortably get there on 93 octane. It can be done with less, but it's better to push a little more air and keep the tune safer to make the same power.A good FMIC is crucial on pump gas. Garrett cores are...
Not really relevant to this budget minded thread:The better move now is to buy the GTX30R without a hot side, and then grab the bolt on hot side from Forced Performance.Bolt on 30R that flows 65lbs.Garrett GTX3076R GTX30R Upgrade Ball Bearing Turbo | eBayandForced Performance...
I just read the add....lol at trying to pass his debt on. Just because he's upside down doesn't mean the car is worth 15K lol. Have fun making payments on your new lawn ornament, buddy.
I would not go over 8K on any 03 Evo with a blown motor, especially at that mileage. A buddy of mine bought one for 10K, it had some basic issues but nothing like a blown motor. Lower miles too.15K is retarded. 10K is still considerably over priced IMO.
The biggest flaw in the SR20 IMO is that the sleeves don't go all the way to the deck, so if you get knock you can damage the block itself. If honda made better blocks, or mitsu made better heads it would be the best of both worlds.
The Genesis sucks all around, the 4 banger ones are especially pathetic. With the Subaru BRZ only producing 150lbs of torque i lost all interest in that car. If they make an STI version with 300hp and TQ and can keep it near 30K i'll probably buy one the week they hit dealer lots, but i have no...
The 4g is the best 4cyl block IMO, but our cylinder heads are very restrictive compared to many other 4 cyl engines. Overall it's a great motor, whether it's the best is a matter of opinion
I'd never consider building a grudge car with any less than a 75lb turbo. Most guys willing to run for real cash are single digit cars, and with the number of guys using traction compounds and slicks these days the AWD is really not much of an advantage in grudge racing. If you're looking to run...
No offense intended to him, but he made it that far because (assuming his track info is accurate) he's not making much power, maybe 260whp. The OPs 35R DSM is an entirely different ball game. How much time spent in boost, how the car is shifted and how high it's revved will affect the...
