I performed this when I was 19 years old! I am now 32 and can't believe I found my old account. Moved on from DSMs but still love cars and learned so much on this platform. Just converted a 66 mustang from an automatic to 5 speed.Look at all those grammar mistakes! LOL
so how that pin thats on the bottom of the caliper. can i just hit it with a flathead screwdriver with a hammer??? because if i could do that i could swing it up and get the pads in there. let me know guys!
checked the forum and there were no specific details. my problem is exactly what the title is. i cant get the damn ####ing thing off. im trying to install new pads.... well i wish it could be as simple as swinging the caliper up, but there is no bolts to swing it up. its just a pin. how do i do...
yea its not no turbo haha. and you know this would be entirely different if these were my front brakes. but being as i need some asap and they are rear rotors these will do for a little. as long as they dont break in half and i crash lol.
well i found a cheap deal for rear rotors and pads. i tried to machine mine but it was just too thin. i know they are ebay but they are rear rotors. and should still do the job.Mitsubishi Eclipse 92 93 94 OE Brake Rotors and Pads R : eBay Motors (item 270530654927 end time Mar-14-10...
well i have my drivers side back tire off. the ebrake is up. but why can i turn the rotor? there is a metal on metal noise but shouldnt both back tires be locked when the ebrake is up? let me know guys.
can anyone be as kind to tell me what type of injector i have. i know it wont be easy as i did not remove it. just tell me what you think. they are not blue top so im guessing they are not stock. im just trying to figure out what all this car has. let me know what you think thanks.<a...
are these stock? im asking because i never saw a C before?<a href="http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t74/mtchu736/?action=view¤t=100_6323.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t74/mtchu736/100_6323.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>really...
well i have had this problem for awhile but the more i think about it, i dont think its right. WOT it flutters. now its a little too fast to be a compressor surge. my friend has the exact bov and it sounds perfect. mine sounds like someone laughing. like a teeheeheehee. i had it recirced...
the bov is vented. but i have a safc. i drove the car a few weeks ago exactly how it is and this didnt happen. could it be a mis matched plug wire?? or could it be the transmission?
well got my transmission in and everything put back together. so i test drive it on my way to get gas and im just driving all of a sudden the car starts stuttering and hesitating like the intercooler piping was undone. this happens when i just have my foot resting on the gas pedal. so i pull...
mike i started it today but now i have a new problem. the starter grinds realllly bad and pops like it is just slamming the flywheel teeth. everything is installed the way it was before! but since i added this dowel pin now its really bad i even shimmed it by 1 bushing and its the same... im...
they go all around on the flywheel. this never happened in my old transmission but then again there was no bump to hit. i really dont wanna think that my crank and stuff is loose! its scares me haha. the flywheel is on there really good with locktight. maybe when i push the clutch in the...
mike i understand what your saying but this is a 2nd gen transmission in a 1st gen. the 1st gen transmission does not have a bump where this one is at. so im thinking that the ticking is simply the flywheel hitting the bellhousing, and when i push in the clutch in it could slightly change the...
ok guys here is what happened the top of the flywheel where it is scraped up in the picture was hitting the top of the bellhousing where the damage is. im just wondering why i only started hearing the ticking after 300 miles. shouldnt i have heard this after 1 mile? should i just sand that bump...
well my car developed a weird ticking noise 300 miles after new 2gen transmission install in a 1st gen, with new clutch etc. the ticking went away when i pushed in the clutch so i thought it was something with the tob. however when i went underneath i heard the sound coming from the pressure...
damn it. i hope i can return it. yea i would really appreciate it if you could find the number for meBrokenTsi i just ordered the RIGHT one i made a dumb mistake by ordering block to front case. im an idiot. oh well down ten bucks i guess. thanks for all your help bud.
ok so i just got the dowel pin today. it does not look right it looks very small and if i do put it in it would either be in the transmission or the block side correct? so this really wont do jack shit for me. im just kinda annoyed that i payed ten bucks for this little piece of metal. a dime...
yes the bolt that goes in backward is in there. i thought the dowel was just a guide to help to bolt go throught and since its in i thought that it would probably be lined up.
i do not have the dowel pin in but i have the bolt aligned in correctly and like i said the noise is gone once i push the clutch in. the starter plate would probably make more of a rattling noise rather than a ticking noise right?
heyyy thats an idea i never really looked into the flywheel hitting the starter. i had to mash up the starter plate to get it to fit. so maybeeeee ill look into it ill also take a vid of it to help describe this issue im having thanks for you help!wait actually i dont think that could be...
yea i completely backed it off expecting the noise to stop. its a real loud clicking in that area and it matches with my rpms. it honestly sounds like the pressure plate is hitting the tranny or something? i have no idea i just want some thoughts so i can look into it more. but im stumped. maybe...
correct when you push the clutch down it does touch but when its no pushed down i dont think it does but im not positive. but do you know what it could possibly be thats clicking. its not the bearing, the clicking is not coming from that.
well i know its not a bad trans becuase i got under the car today and removed the clutch slave and the rubber piece and it is coming from the pressure plate area but when i move the fork the noise still occures. so what could it be!!!
i have a constant clicking and i have done alot of research and thought about it alot. the clicking goes away when i push in the clutch. could my tob be hitting the pp fingers because its not properly adjusted? it also does this when im in gear as it matches rpms. so im thinking its hitting the...
yea i put the stethascope thing right on the fork and did not hear the ticking there i think i hear it more in the bellhousing are... anyone know what else it could possibly be?thoughts anyone?seriously.....
hey guys need a little advice. installed new comp clutch 6 puck. drove good for the first 200 miles but then developed a tick. i have a stethascope thing to help pinpoint the noise and i dont believe its the tob. it goes away when you push the clutch in. when your in gear you can hear the tick...
ok will do thanks. could this also lead to a boost leak, my car seems to be very rough at around 2100rpm in every gear. could this also be something?anyone???
finally after months of my car sitting i fixed it!!! yay for me. so now i need to fix the little things. its a 14b turbo with basic stuff. i dont think it has a walbro pump or anything like that. basically when i give the car lets say anything more than 25% throttle then let off in neutral, or...
it is manual. im thinking its just dirty in there. the tranny was sitting for awhile but has low miles. i just got a little nervous when i saw it come out that color...
it looks light a light gravy color. tannish and very thick fairly new fluid only in for about a week. just drained it and looks like diareah!!! i have no better description. should it look like this?!
greatt! thanks guys i completely forgot you had to steer the wheel. you both helped a bunch! and to adamstreyle i have a 2gen transmission in so that is why im using 2gen axles. but you are correct they wont work with a 1st gen trans. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!
