Requesting pics of 2gs with wastegate hood dump. Trying to see where on the hood the wastegate comes out. Trying to figure out a heatshield option without the hood hump getting in way.I am looking at either recircing back into the downpipe or getting an evo style hood and dumping out the vent.
I am going to be using E85 and am doing a -6an tank to rail. I was wondering if it’s okay to use a nylon line vs stainless braided under the car. Both will be ptfe line but didn’t know if the nylon would hold up to road debris rocks etc.
I’m in the process of installing the 450 pump to my gsx and was wondering what is the most common way everyone is installing the pumps. I am planning on just using the evo oring and have seen 1-2 older threads on them being better than the stock orings but have they been sealing well? Would it...
I am upgrading my pump to a 450 and I am looking to make the connection plug and play but cannot find where to get this pin. Does anyone know what it is called? This is the plug that goes directly to the fuel pump housing.
I have a 3g brake booster with master/res for sale. looking to get $100 shipped. It is a great upgrade when you get bigger calipers like the brembos because of the 1 1/16 boreAlso I have an ABS pump and with hard lines and the prop valve $offer off of my 1999 GSX
2 valve covers with no leaks.1 with red has a bolt broke in the far left spark plug hole. (Can use a spark plug cover or just drill it out)The other has a chip on the pcv side but it is before the threads.I will ship each for $50 or $90 for both.
Looking for some opinions on what my weak link might be trying to make up to 500-550WHP with what I have so far.Engine- 99 7 bolt Manley platinum pistons and H beam rods, HKS 272 cams, full rebuild, evo 9 springs and retainers, ACT 2600, evo 3 intake manifold, 1g TB, VRSF short route FMIC...
I cannot get this damn light off. I replaced both door switches with no change. The dome light and interior lights all come on and off as they should when the doors shut. The problem is the cluster light “door ajar” stays on no matter what. What all is connected to this circuit?
I have a evo 3 16g for sale. minimal side to side with no oil and no in-out.
There are no cracks in the turbo.
Also I have a fitting I tapped for .07 restictor that I used for keeping oil pressure down. VRSF jpipe (puts the pipe on the driver side which is a better design) newer SS feed line...
This is for my evo x. I have my dsm build going on Final x if you are interested too. Anyways this is a side project. Can you please photoshop it with a few color choices. bronze, graphite grey and a orange color. I want to switch it up.
I am looking at a new catch can setup and was told that it would have too much vacuum during boost which is also bad. Basically it would be a pcv delete and 2 lines from valve cover into the can and then 1 line to the intake. The reason I was told too much vacuum was because from the factory...
For NLTS without cruise control I read I do not need that "kit" and I can just run 1 wire. So on the clutch switch I believe red and black wire I cut it but where does it wire to on the ECU?
I did a full poly install on my gsx and the rear trailing arm is binding. I am torquing it at the body mount to 109 ft lbs and at the knuckle to 94 ft lbs. would the poly bushings make a difference and I should not torque to spec or what? It is the prothane kit btw.
My axle is seized in the hub in the rear of my 2g. I pulled the knuckle off with the axle in it. I already removed the 4 bolts for the hub and it won't come off. I am trying to pull the axle with the hub and replace both but keep the knuckle. Am I missing anything here ?
I haven't been able to find the answer and it has been asked before with no luck. Are the outer cv joints the same fwd-awd and front-back? The part of the axle that goes into the hub.
When you are installing rear poly subframe bushings are you keeping the top oem bushing too? Or just the bottom. I read the boost x install and they only talk about melting the bottom and reusing that. I would think you would want a solid washer for the top too where it meets the frame.
I have been in the DSM game since I got my first car back in 2007 with a 1999 GS-T. Over the last 8 years I have had a handful of these cars ranging from GS-T, GSX and even a Galant VR-4 and never really documented the builds. After searching for what seemed like years for a clean GSX to daily...
Anyone making these yet? I have poly rear diff, carrier, and rear subframe, full poly motor mounts. I just need the front subframe so please let me know.
Okay I just pickup up a 1999 GSX and got it running. Here is how the car sits:
7 bolt block
6 bolt head
95 ecu with dsmlinkCar is running so rich and I have nothing to tune with dsmlink but I have a spare 99 ecu and all the tuning software so how can I put the 1999 ecu in?(I think the car...
For a 6bolt out of the carI am going to install the stubby shaft and replace the rear bearing with new. Now for the front should I turn 180 degrees or keep them the same and leave the front shaft in?
okay so I am solving all my wiring issues on my 96 rs and I noticed the rear defrost switch light is always on. When I push it nothing changes and when I turn the car off it turns off. Do you think the switch is just stuck on? I really do not know what else it could be. Would there be any other...
I have the car on sportline springs and the rear looked to sit level until I just used the rear camber kit (washers and bolts). Anyways does it matter where you tighten the bolts in the picture? I feel like I tightened one side higher than the other.
64185 and 64184 are the ones I am talking about.
My 1996 Rs is throwing some codes like the iat, misfire, iac. I replaced the iat and iac and tested the harness but the code comes back again. I am thinking the signal cuts out at some point and it is either the harness or the ecu. I need to know if the harnesses are swappable. are the 5speed...
Alright guys I am building my GVR4 (block is out) and was wondering what everyone is doing these days for BSE.Is it better to pull the shafts and spin the bearings and get a OEM stubby? or I read something about leaving 1 in and getting a stubby or something. This car is getting a .20 over...
Okay so I am getting a p0113 on my 96 420a rs. I replaced the sensor and the code is still there. I was wondering if anyone had the wiring layout because I think there is a circuit problem with it. I am wanting to rewire it from the ecu to try and eliminate the possibility of a circuit problem.
Okay I got a p0113 code and I replace the sensor. I still have the code and I tested the wires and got 12v ground and 4.95-5v on the other wire with key to the accessory position. Then I put the plug on the sensor and also got 4.95-5v with key to accessory.I have not tested with car running...
I am putting my transmission back together and was wondering if anyone knew some tricks to help. I cant seem to get the 2 shafts inline with the 3 rods and gear selector. How did you guys reassemble the transmission and get these all to line up?2g gst btw
Just wanted to start a thread to see what some of your projects were for the winter. I just picked up a 1991 Galant VR-4 #0063/2000.Plans for this are to delete ABS and possible 4WS along with 5 lug conversion and 4 bolt rear.
I have some codes that I believe are all egr related. (420a)p0403- egr
p1294- idle not reached
p0300-misfireI am thinking the egr solenoid is bad which is causing a vacuum leak which would give me the 2 other codes. However I do not want to replace the unit unless I can test it first...
Okay so I broke my t25 stock oil feed line. I have the 3/8-1/8 NPT on the oil filter housing but I need the fitting to that, the line from the OFH to the turbo, and the turbo fitting. What sizes do I need to get?I read something about a 1/4 brake line but what fittings with that?
I am building a new motor and was confused as to which tensioner to use. Does it even matter before 9/95 or after? The tensioner arms I have from 95 and 99 motors both appear to be the same.
Alright so I am trying to tackle this annoying problem/CEL on my new rebuilt 420a.The car always starts and never dies, just does not idle steady and I have p0300 code. Now as I understand it the random multiple misfire means that it is not just tied to 1 or 2 cylinders directly. This...
So my battery is draining and it is the "room lamp" fuse. (engine bay)where can I find a diagram of the layout for that fuse? Also a bunch of random lights dont work and I want to get to the bottom of this!
