Requesting pics of 2gs with wastegate hood dump. Trying to see where on the hood the wastegate comes out. Trying to figure out a heatshield option without the hood hump getting in way.I am looking at either recircing back into the downpipe or getting an evo style hood and dumping out the vent.
Im back at it! Ive been super busy but now have time to finish this project. I cut out the spare tire section and installed a plate/trim. In the cabin I added a rewired 450 pump, apple carplay/backup camera and a carbon headliner. I am currently working on cutting the new carpet and installing...
turbo intake pipe- the one with the air filter on it to turbo inlet.intercooler pipes- all other pipes from intercooler and turbothrottle body elbow- to throttle body
Go out and verify you are getting fuel and spark.Fuel- You can simply spray some starting fluid in the throttle body and see if it tries to start while cranking.spark- just use an extra spark plug and plug it in to one of the spark plug wires and set it next to a bolt and see if you can see...
I am going to be using E85 and am doing a -6an tank to rail. I was wondering if it’s okay to use a nylon line vs stainless braided under the car. Both will be ptfe line but didn’t know if the nylon would hold up to road debris rocks etc.
I’m in the process of installing the 450 pump to my gsx and was wondering what is the most common way everyone is installing the pumps. I am planning on just using the evo oring and have seen 1-2 older threads on them being better than the stock orings but have they been sealing well? Would it...
I am upgrading my pump to a 450 and I am looking to make the connection plug and play but cannot find where to get this pin. Does anyone know what it is called? This is the plug that goes directly to the fuel pump housing.
I finally feel like I am making progress on the car:hellyeah: Still have a nightmare of wiring in the interior which I am looking to tackle this weekend. I ordered new seals for the transfer case and got that bolted in the car along with my Bulfab tubular cross member. I also installed the rear...
Had to battle the heat this weekend in the 90s but got a few things done. I also had some parts come in (walbro 450, rewire, transfer case seals and some other little odds and ends). I installed both axles and the rest of the suspension is in and torqued to spec.
Engine is now in! Took a couple hours to clean up the transmission, install new seals, install flywheel and clutch and then put it all in. The solid aluminum subframe mounts and poly engine mounts make it a little tougher to line everything up as there is no slack.
I have spent the last couple days working on the car. I installed all new ball joints, tie rods, control arms and I coated the wheel wells. As far as the engine bay I think I have everything in that needs to be installed before the engine. Power steering, ABS delete lines, brake booster and both...
I have the engine fully assembled/timed now.
Manley Hbeam rods, Manley platinum series pistons, ACL bearings, ARP headstuds, EVO 9 valvetrain, Delta 272 cams. I noticed last minute you are not supposed to use helical gears with a BSE so I ordered straight cut ones and quickly swapped them...
I have a 3g brake booster with master/res for sale. looking to get $100 shipped. It is a great upgrade when you get bigger calipers like the brembos because of the 1 1/16 boreAlso I have an ABS pump and with hard lines and the prop valve $offer off of my 1999 GSX
I went to the "u pull it" yard this weekend and they had 2 3g eclipses there. I scooped both masters and brake boosters just in case there was an issue and also because they were cheap. I will be putting a set up for sale if anyone is interested.
Did not have much time yeserday but I cut the sleeves out of the subframe and installed the aluminum bushings. Then I started on installing the poly bushings in the front control arms. I ordered the RM swaybars, fuel lab filter with SS filter and abs delete lines with a 3G master. I still need...
Pulled the engine on Wednesday. My plan is to put it on a engine stand this weekend and then put the built engine I have on my other stand so I can transfer the parts easier. I am also going to be painting the engine bay, replacing the worn front suspension and installing aluminum subframe...
Starting tearing into the DSM last weekend and am ready to pull it on my next day off work. Drained all the fluids, pulled the radiator, turbo and manifold, exhaust, transfer case, intercooler piping and the axles. I also had JMF weld a spare oil pan for the HX40 (-12an) I love that their shop...
Update!I forgot to post the final pictures of the Brembo calipers installed with the new Evo x wheels. I did have to roll the fenders because a am lowered. Other than that these wheels fit the car perfectly.I ended up powdercoating them black just a couple days later to help set off the...
2 valve covers with no leaks.1 with red has a bolt broke in the far left spark plug hole. (Can use a spark plug cover or just drill it out)The other has a chip on the pcv side but it is before the threads.I will ship each for $50 or $90 for both.
Looking for some opinions on what my weak link might be trying to make up to 500-550WHP with what I have so far.Engine- 99 7 bolt Manley platinum pistons and H beam rods, HKS 272 cams, full rebuild, evo 9 springs and retainers, ACT 2600, evo 3 intake manifold, 1g TB, VRSF short route FMIC...
I cannot get this damn light off. I replaced both door switches with no change. The dome light and interior lights all come on and off as they should when the doors shut. The problem is the cluster light “door ajar” stays on no matter what. What all is connected to this circuit?
