If you cant figure it out you need to find someone that can or your inability to tune will make the motor go boom. Your car is pig rich just from what you've said your a/f's are. You need to start from scratch, zero everything out and go from there.
How you have your wastegate dumped wont affect your widebands reading unless you have it dumping right on the wires for it and melt them. This may sound dumb but believe it or not I have seen it done.... Do you still have the internal gate hooked up? Also is your aftermarket gate on the manifold...
The 14b if tuned right can make enough power for what you want. I personally run a 14b with a small 16g comp wheel. Dont have any actual numbers but I know it spools faster than a evo3 16g and should make atleast 300. I'd be pissed if I dyno this thing and it doesnt. It will leave some 5o stangs...
If you're having this much trouble just figuring out what to get, you may want to get some help putting this thing on. This is not just some quick hour and a half job, unless youve done it countless times. Keep in mind you will still need to buy oil and coolant as a good bit of each will drain...
You can use the t25 water lines and just bend them. The oil line on a t25 wont work, you will need either a stainless oil feed line kit or get one for a 1g that feeds from the head, which I would still recomend getting a stainless one as the factory one is a pain in the ass to install. I didnt...
What you'll need to set your afpr at will be dependant on how much hp you want to make. Check out this site: RC Fuel Injection All the way at the bottom of the page is the fuel injector worsheet. It will give you a rough idea of what you need to set your fuel pressure at to get a certain hp...
Its deffinately a way around it. I know around here people will get their cars registered in South Carolina because there is no law on tint. I keep my car registered in the county I'm in because there are no emission laws on my year models. Deffinately an idea, but if he's the only one to pull...
White smoke can deffinately be oil also. I've suspecting a pcv valve or turbo seals on the way out. Its only smoking on downspool/down gearing. It wasnt to noticeable untill I had to slow down for a huge bump in the road and I pulled her down in second and as soon as I got back on the gas had a...
Ok so this is my frist time even looking into doing water/meth injection. I've read the first 5 pages of this thread and can say I've learned more on the subject and how/what makes power than I have from anywhere else. I have a few questions though. And yes I know for the most part its an old...
The transfer cases on 1g's are known for leaking. You may want to check it out and get all new seals for it if you've never done it and never had the recall performed on it. I've got all the part numbers if youd like them for the parts that is supposed to be done durring the recall.
Long rods are for reducing displacement. They only come from an aftermarket company. The wrist pin in a 1g is 21mm the 2g/evo 22mm. Honing it will affect it some, so you will need to measure it and make sure you dont over do it.
Another case of people trying to upgrade these cars before they really know whats going on with them. There are threatds all of the place for these things and how to install them. With that out of the way, the punishment kit has my vote. They are very simple to put in and come with everything...
1g cars deffinately do not prime untill the key is turned to start. I had to empy out two gas tanks that way within the last few months. One way to fix this is to do the rewire which would give the pump a signal as soon as the key is in the on position, which should prime the fuel system.
My buddys apexi n1 did this on his gst also. I think it was only a few years old. He ended up cutting it off and getting the black can they sold to match the black paint. It looks sick, but im waiting to see how long this one last. I think i may end up getting an hks exhaust for my car haha. Id...
They are exceptionally rare. I think I've only seen one or two. My budy owns one of them. Even if you look up the numbers for the tranny's and tcases they arent listed for the 90 in auto, but they did come auto. Just very few in numbers.
No dont hit the block with a hammer. The sensor can still be working just working inproperly. If that stuff has melted out of it it will pick up knock a lot easier and thats where you get phantom knock. And I didnt say it was on the bracket its to the left of it. Even if that bracket isnt there...
The day i got my first one my sister was following me home and the center piece of the spoiler flew off and about hit her going over a bridge. Two days later with the same car, a lady pulled out in front of me and to avoid tboning her i flew the car over a ditch. The next day the oil filter...
Cant say I've used them. The bpr6es is supposed to bo factory heat range. Bpr7es is a step colder, 8 would be two steps colder. You really dont need to go colder than the bpr7es unless you have a good sized turbo and a lot of boost.
As long as the driveshaft is not inserted into the tcase and can spin freely and wont get stuck in the ground your good to go. I towed a car over 8 hours with the driveshaft out of it and my lsd rear is still in great shape, I'm sure you'll be ok to move a few feet.
Should be ok as long as most of the big stuff got caught in the intercooler. The little small stuff if its really that tiny shouldnt hurt anything going through combustion. May chew up the turbine side of your new turbo though. But if you want to avoid that just get a cheap 13g or a 14b and run...
It will cause some turbulance but shouldnt be anything really to hurt performance. It's not like your going to gain 5hp from opening up a few inches of pipe an extra half inch.
Not only is this illegal, but very dangerous. With that out of the way, dont feel bad I do the same stupid shit to test my cars. I would still bleed the entire system front and rear. It can only help if dont correctly.
You need to figure out what that code is. I'm sure its going to lead you in the right direction. But just from the sounds of it, it could be something in the ecu.
That is deffinately a valve hitting a piston. You need to stop! Like yesturday. The easiest way to fix this without tearing anything up to much more is to remove the valve cover and loosen all the cam cap bolts so there is no pressure on the valves. Once you've done that undo the timing belt and...
Hate to be the one to bring bad news but the 90's did have an auto awd. Secondly if youre using the car at the drag strip auto is the shit. There are some mods you can do that will make it a hell of a lot better, and more consistant. Personally id stick with the auto if you have it already and...
I would make sure its the right starter for that car. Make sure they sold you a fwd one and not an awd one. I have seen people have this problem when something like that comes up.
I have seen "friends" sell "friends" shitty cars. This car has been through two people on the same project and it still isnt working. That alone should say enough as to the question of you buying someone elses headache. A 6bolt in a 95 car is quite the undertaking. If you dont personally have...
But can you add safely and reliably to actually having done it? It's one thing to do it and get a dyno sheet saying you've done it. Its a whole other thing to do it and drive this car constantly and have it get you back and forth where you want to and not have to worry about it. Plus, chances...
Well guys I am currently on my 5th dsm! First one was a 91 nt 4g63, secondly a 91gst, 3rd a 90 nt talon converted to turbo, 4th a 92 laser awd, 5th and my favorite a 92 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. These things are not only a hobby but a way of life. I'm originally from Kitty Hawk, NC but recently moved...
Localish I guess to Raleigh. Bout an hour depending on whos driving and whats being driven. Got a 92 Talon awd that I'm putting back together. Still have some here and there pieces to get.
The easiest way to see if the knock sensor itself is bad is to get under the car and locate it and make sure there isnt a line of black tar/goo running down the back of your block. If you are under your car the knock sensor will be on the back side of the block twards the fire wall, will be to...
If the alternator isnt charging the battery then it will die. But your car cutting off can be multiple problems, you should check and see what that code is. I'm sure it will help you out tons in finding your problem.
Before you start getting stupid numbers you may want to get your internals taken care of. Wether the car is low milleage or not, a motor thats made to hold 195hp wont hold twice that for long if it hasnt been well taken care of. Plus that car is right on time for having all the big maintenance...
Between fwd and awd? Huge difference. If your building his car just as a drag car and it wont see the street you wont need a title. Hell just leave the gst as ## daily and build the gsx as a track car. Its a win win situation.
Ok let me just start by saying you need to go to english class or something. Secondly I cant believe no one has caught this. 45 DEGREES OF KNOCK!!!!! Holy shit! That is maxed out. Its not fuel cut at all, your timming is being pulled way back in the upper rpm range. Check the knock sensor and...
I heard a few horror stories about the burscher short blocks here recently. Few guys I've seen having trouble with them lasting any more than the break in period. Heck just get a block and build it yourself. Then you know whats in it and what everything should hold up to. And if it breaks you...
Also if you havent pulled the cover off they are all 10mm bolts. And the harmonic balancer is four 12mm bolts. And you'll need to take off the belts and removed the driver side motor mount as mentioned above.
Grab a 14mm wrench, find the tensioner pulley. It's got a blue center and will be on the side closest to the front of the car. Loosen the bolt in the pulley and tension should come off the belt and you should be able to slide it right off. I would deffinately make sure you put everything back...
For someone thats unemployed you sure are throwing a lot of money around. With that said, there are ways to get a title for the car. There are forms you can get from the dmv and fill out and they can change the cars title to your name as long as its not stolen or there is no lien. They will give...
