well would you tell him "run 20 psi, you'll be fine" with absolutely no clue of the motors state of health, or the op's driving habits?
If me not wanting to give an exact number and instead give a general, somewhat helpful statement means im clueless, then
I...
so when you lifted the car with the engine off and spun the tires by hand it started ticking? if yes, than its the wheel bearing/ hub assembly. It might not make noise without weight on the assembly, so to make double sure grab the tire at the top and at the bottom and try to shake it. If you...
bench racing ftwcould be as little as 8psi, could be as much as 500psi :Dit really depends on your afr's, how many counts of knock, and your motors state of health. A friend of mine ran 28psi out of a 20g, no problems. and then again i have heard of people blowing shit up with 16psi out...
i cannot find my schematics to save my life to cross reference anything. and they were on a huge sketch pad. like as big as posterboard.evo dash swap, as well as everything else i have is up for sale. comes with full dash harness (obviously)pm me people.
The block will accept a dohc head. It's just a different bottom end setup. It is a 4g6 series motor, and will a 4g64 take a 4g63 head? Yes it will. So what makes this block's deck any different?
I sent them a message to try and get an actual picture of the 4g37 header. But being that their aussies, and they love the saturn motors, i have a good feeling thats just a generic picture.
as i origionally owned a 1.8, and i stumbled across this info i figured id pass it along.http://www.rpw.com.au/shop/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=376&category_id=730&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1
If you have the short shifter mod, its not bad, but if your shifter setup is stock, then its close. I'm debating on trimming the dash even more and making some different mounts to drop it back another 2 to 3 inches. But as far as the 2g goes, it will need a lot more chopping and fabrication to...
im back! dash has been in for a while, but i have not had internet for ever. fail on my part. but the clock housing is now home to a greddy profec b spec2, and i did a little fab work and now have an evo 8 e-brake handle as well.
you can use jb weld, the epoxy that's used to glue mirrors to windshields or you can also use grey rtv sealant. the rtv sounds ghetto I know but it's really strong holding and cures firm.
working at a mitsu/nissan dealership as a tech, i dont know how many 420a eclipses i have seen that run perfect, and leak oil from the drivers side on the back of the motor out of the head gasket. seems like a factory defect. only way to fix it is to replace the hg... or set the car on fire. but...
Its by far not at all the best it could be. but it is awesome how it came out with the motor in imo. I love it. But we at Ocala Tuner Performance as a shop are contemplating making a rwd (obviously) 1g talon drift car.just need to run it by the owner and make it seem like a viable reason to take...
damn you and your negativity!!! lol i'll get a better pic when its fully done, but for the first time in 10 months my dd has a motor in it again. in a few days i can say #### a 10 speed. :thumb:
it seems to me to be a 1g motor on a 2g trans trans. if you look in the bottom pic you can clearly see big 1g ports, but it has the oil cooler on the filter assembly. i believe 6 bolts used the external oil cooler. seems like a 7 bolt motor to me. also, in the 3rd pic it doesn't have the 3 trans...
If your that worried, you can never go wrong doing it this way: leave your motor stock, buy a used motor, rip it apart and rebuild it slowly, as you get the cash for go fast parts. even if it takes a year or two, the satisfaction you will get from knowing YOU paid for and built everything on the...
I r confoosed. I honestly didn't know they made gst's in 2000. :ohdamn:2000 mitsubishi eclipse gst turbo 5 speed2000 mitsubishi eclipse gst turbo 5 speed - $6995 (alachua FL)Im selling my 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gst turbo 5 speed. This car has been my pride and joy for years. I...
someone get the tard with the green 2g a helmet. he's definately going to strain his brain tieing his shoes if he thinks that spark plugs add 10 hp....on the other hand, it could keep up with a bone stock turbo 2g. I'll take it!! :p
i have been assembling the motor, trying to get the car running, so its been put on the backburner. but i was actually hoping to get it done tonight or tomorrow.
i have the diagram to do a direct wire in to the harness at the ecu connectors. all you'd have to do is wire it in there, then cut the stock maf plug off and wire the gm maf to three of the wires in the wiring harness. you wont have to worry about moisture and heat affecting the maft, you'll...
well, i have decided that the area close to the shifter is getting cut out, and fiberglassed a little shorter. its going to be near-flush with the rest of the dash. but im getting a motor in the car in the next week, so i will hopefully have it completed by then. more soon
The GM maft has a fuel cut defender built in. go with it. my buddy had a 20g on his 2g running 14psi, stock injectors, walbro 255, and NEVER hit fuel cut. wideband stayed at about 10.5 at wot.
You know, i was thinking the same thing. Not a negative thing said about the 63 from a group of honda owners... kinda fishy. I guess its just the whole "race day" mentality that makes them talk smack. That, or they know that the 63 will walk their jdm swap any day. :thumb:
i had this exact problem in my 1.8l 1g. I dont know how its possible, but turned out the tranny was low on gear oil. Evidently when i changed the clutch i didn't tighten the drain plug 100% :ohdamn: and nearly jacked the tranny. But after i filled it it worked perfect. if you have a slight leak...
go with some 272's, you won't lose all of your bottom end torque, and you will love the mid to top end power. Saying "i want 292's just because, but im not doing any research on them" is like saying " i want to put an hx40 on my stock 2ga and run 18psi." good luck on it working out. don't feel...
I just want to clarify that im an engine/electronics guy. Im the electrical tech at ocala tuner performance, and i work full time as a tech at ocala nissan/mitsubishi, both in fla. (stop by otp and check us out whenever your our way :thumb:)But im in NO way, shape or form a painter or body...
thats not a half bad idea... i wonder where i can get the tinted clear? this is all high heat spray paint though, so i think id have to have someone spray it with a hvlp gunoh, and they wanted 800 for this awd. if i had 800 to blow i would snatch it, but im trying to get a running car and dont...
well the awd turned out to be garbage... the guy wouldn't even let me put a battery in it, because the "rebuilt motor" had been sitting for so long, he thought it might be locked up from rust, and didn't want me to break the rings. The tires were so dry rotted they wouldn't hold air, the dash...
its possible... just a pain in the ass. honestly tho i pulled my motor and trans twice with a 2 ton capacity come-along attached to a thick tree limb. not the safest or easiest way, but it will definitely be easier to do the bs delete with the motor out of the car simply because you have to pull...
i never put it on the dyno, but ill put it this way. Before i did everything, getting on the interstate was a pain in the ass, if i was in 5th and dropped a gear to pass at 65 it took 5 or 6 seconds to get to a higher speed than the car in front of me. After everything was done, the car revved...
I used to have a 4g37. 1st off, the g62b head will NOT bolt up. the letter after the g, which in your case is 3, dictates block design. thats why you can bolt a 4g63 head to a 4g64 block- because they are both 4g6 motors. you can bolt a g32b head to it, but the ports are even smaller. 2nd, the...
how is that a rhd evo7? Isn't it not legal to import anything younger than like 20 years? and its legit because the "celica" on the car window next to it isn't reversed. Bad-Ass
do you have exact measurements as to how much you dropped the lower half at the front and back of the bumper? I am going to pick up some fiberglass tonight, and start doing the exact same thing. not to be a mime or anything. but it does look badass, especially on that red 1g. cant wait to see it...
if compression and timing are good, does it have spark and fuel are the next things to check. if it has spark, then check the fuel pump/injectors. if it doesnt have spark, check the coil packs or power transistor. If both of those are ok, then your flux capacitor is bad. :thumb:
I took the crank from the car i currently own to be turned today. I bought my current project for 500 because it supposedly had bent valves. Turned out it had bent valves AND a paper thin rod bearing on #3. But i have put probably 60 hours into getting it nice because the body was in good shape...
There is an ad up for a 92 gsx for sale where i live for $800. the guys son bought it as a project car. it has been sitting for 2 years, but his son apparently had the motor and head rebuilt by a machine shop before he went into active duty and got deployed. the interior is haggard, but i have a...
i went red because the whole car is satin black with red accents. I am still going to do some more touch-ups, but the fact that im working 10 hours a day 6 days a week and the car is parked at my old house is kind of stepping on my nads at the moment. just wanted to get some slightly newer pics up.
yes, im planning on doing the intake manifold, valve cover, turbo coldside (once i get a 20g) and possibly the transmission. not sure on the trans tho. seems like a lot of work, and it might look overdone.
as far as the stage 4 turbo goes, hahn racecraft sells their kits in stages. A guy i used to work with works their now here in fla and they apparently have some nasty 420's roll thru. but as far as the body kit and wheel pose go... :tease:ROFL
