    Zero F's Given. The Redemption.

Yes it is one big project. And the floor is bare metal in these pictures. Trying to get every ounce of sealer out and reprainting the interior. Dynamat is wayyyyy to heavy lol. No creature comforts In this one. A cage a steering wheel and an aluminum seat is about it!

Thank you!Thought I would add a little bit of the cage work in here as well as some of the roof swap.

    Zero F's Given. The Redemption.

I have 3. This is the same 1g I had a build log on several months back. I just stopped working on it once the snow left. Due to a recent injury that put me out of work reading started bumping my ambition back up.

    Zero F's Given. The Redemption.

Hello, First off I would like to start off by saying that I started off my last build thread on the wrong foot. I was arrogant and cocky. I had no right being either, but its my turn to take that all back, start a new log from scratch set zero goals and just get it done. The car is a 1990 TSI...

is this voltage drop or bad alternator

The alternator charges around 14v but the battery will not maintain much more than 12.6 after the engine is off. 6 cells in an automotive battery for a voltage of 2.1 per cell.

Does anyone know the magical position to dummy o2 sensor?

I have used spark plug anti foulers for this. If you stack two of them together and pack some steel wool in the bottom one it should work! Hope this helps

    2000cc High Imp's for Under 200$

So if this is the case you have a little extra tuning to do while saving 600+$ I'd rather have the money. I have ordered a set with my bimmer injectors that I plan to send out for testing. As far as I am concerned if they impress the people in the BIG $ game I don't see why they won't be enough...

    Transmission Bearing kits..... CHEAP!

I have an update if it counts as anything. I did my crush tests and came out with flawless numbers on the bearings. If these were chinese bearings Im sure that kind of quality control would not have been there.

    2000cc High Imp's for Under 200$

So let the hate begin. I found a source for Injectors today while ordering new ones for my Bimmer today. Everybody in the BMW world recommends them and that was enough for me to be interested. It began with a simple phone call to order a set for my M5 and we got to talking and lead into the...

    Project 8 seconds/2,000lbs 2g Talon TSI Utah

Like winning the special olympics? really? You do realize it takes a more thought out and better setup to get a 14b record than it does to run a 9 right? Id like to see you attempt to run a low 11 or high 10 on 350 hp....

    Dyno'd my 20g

    Project 8 seconds/2,000lbs 2g Talon TSI Utah

I think you need to get your numbers straight...... You are so far off on your weights that its gross. I think you should invest in a couple of scales..... And also good luck taking a hit with that front end if its not a solid chunk of tube..... It will shear and you will end up with a 4g on...

2G Tubular front k-member build - share ideas!

Who says they have to be billet? There is enough part outs that you could get a half dozen sets for pretty cheap. How about evo knuckles aren't they similar to the 1g? Can probably get them brand new from mitsu. I just think it would simplify a whole lot. Expensive yes but the guys who are...

2G Tubular front k-member build - share ideas!

Ill elaborate from a drag guys point of view.... Dropping probably 30 lbs per corner in the front. It would be enough for me to buy it. That coupled with wilwood small brakes you're talking damn near 100 lbs off the front of the car where our weight kills us the most.

2G Tubular front k-member build - share ideas!

What if you were to use a 1g knuckle in this design instead of the 2g? Should drop considerable weight and make things easier.

The 14b Drag Race Discussion Thread

You were right I was wrong. There I said it. I'm not here to debate the best way to go about this. I'm here to share what my goals are and how I plan to achieve them. I expect some constructive criticism but we don't need to argue about it. I made a bold statement and now I have to back it...

The 14b Drag Race Discussion Thread

Being "cocky" is my motivation. It makes me work that much harder to back my ass up. I do agree weight reduction is a huge part. BUT I still say there is wayyyyy more to it. We will find out. Who knows maybe ill run 12's but I doubt it....

I already have a tube chassis 2g ;) but I am doing this with the 1g. Laugh all you want but I have the people and resources to back me.

    14b Record Attempt

I don't call it cocky, I call it I know my car is better setup than anybody attempting right now. I literally have NO budget so I will do what it takes to run a 10 on the 14b. Sorry but setting goals high makes my work that much better. And also makes me get that much more creative.
  26. dsmornothing

    Project 8 seconds/2,000lbs 2g Talon TSI Utah

Sorry but there is no chance of this car reaching 2000 lbs. you would have to 100% start over and do it piece by piece and you would be lucky to weigh in at 2300.

Yes cage is in the works. Going to be 8.50 certified. I would like to play with small turbo platforms and see how far I can get on them. Eventually it will be rocking a 72mm and I will be competing hard with it. Right now its going to be a nasty little street strip car to see where the stock...

I already know what he is going to say. Whether or not they are real they are fake. I'll be the true test this coming season. Sorry but they don't go as far as making perfect fakes when it comes to 20-30$ parts. 2000$ turbos you betcha.

Alright, I know some of you guys here have either partially filled blocks or fully filled. While my engine is still on the stand I am considering doing a fill. Rebuild myself or send it out?

Well look at it this way. It you don't replace the seals you're risking a blow out. They have however many miles on them at stock line pressure. Once you crank the pressure to upwards of 200psi you could have a very serious issue. The transmissions reliability is ALL in the valve body work. Jeff...

Rebuild myself or send it out?

I have done business with IPT before and I am not impressed with their customer service. They have always been rude and not very helpful.
  44. dsmornothing

Can I use this as an oil pressure source for my stock mitsu turbo?

I would not use that as a feed. Go from the oil filter housing if you can't get the plug out. You could pound a torx in the plug and try that.
  45. dsmornothing

Rebuild myself or send it out?

Personally I wouldn't do business with IPT if my life depended on it. Nor would I do a full rebuild myself. Look into metro trans. Same guys that build English racings transmissions. Just food for thought.

    Resuing well seasoned Eagle Rods

I'm not here to argue but pushing it past its limits and fatigue are pretty much the same in my eyes. The more power you push through them the faster they fatigue, correct? Isn't what fatigues a rod the constant force applied to the top of the piston? The more power you run the more pressure and...

    Resuing well seasoned Eagle Rods

I disagree that 600-650 is all h-beams can handle. There are 7 bolts that have made that on stock rods (counting evo's because its only fair). From what Viper has told me he lost his bottom end when he was held on the line by an idiot. Granted I'm sure with his setup and the torque it produces...

    Starting issues - No / Doesn't / Won't Start - MERGED

How possible is it that he lost a piston on the compression or combustion cycle and the pressure blew back and ripped the oil cap off? Probably far fetched but the way I see it is its possible.
