RESOLVEDChecked fuel pressure, pulled the coil pack, checked timing again and finally pull a code. I found the problem after just sitting and staring at the engine for an hour. This was something that I haven't read about before and didn't even think to look for. After buying a new CPS...
Car passed all these tests for the CPS and CAS and the tests listed in the OP manual, it's been a two month search, ugh. I have found a code reader to borrow on Sunday.
The BOV is recirculating. I don't have an ecmlink. What #'s am I looking for between the ECU and CAS pins? Just learned (because of this project) how my multimeter works...I think :)
Here is what I'm dealing with:98 gst spyder and I'm in over my head if it's an electrical issue, can't seem to get anything to work. Car is out at my buddy's house in Union, KY - just a few minutes from Florence.I'd be happy to compensate someone for finding the problem ;).UPDATE...
Gas is in the car :)We are timed as precise as it can get, there is no question about that - we've taken the car apart and put it back together three times now rechecking everything.
No updates other than I still haven't found a solution. Car has been sitting now for 5 days because I haven't come up with or found any smart ideas.I contacted a guy about some ECU repair, after a few emails back and forth he was convinced it wasn't the ECU. I don't want to just go out and...
Okay, I have unplugged everything, including the ECU and other items I didn't even touch. I have triple checked the fuses, nothing that shows signs of problems. Can't find any issues there.Pulled the ECU out and opened it up, looks pretty clean...nothing that concerns me.Pulled the MPI...
Checked the ISC, seems to be right at 39 ohms on each coil, thought the norm for this was 28-32. I'm positive that it's the ISC making the click/pop noise when I turn the key to the "on" position. You mentioned the ECU...even if I'm getting the check engine light and 0 boost indicators you...
Lots of posts about this, but haven't been able to track down my problem...yet.98 GST Spyder, just hit 59,000 original miles so I figured it was time to change the timing belt. I also decided to do:Balance shaft elimination
New water pump and thermostat
New heater hoses and radiator...
I'm struggling with the same delimma. I'm not a fan of my low rise on my 98 gst spyder, would prefer a high rise over wingless, but what I really want is a rear lip spoiler, something very low profile like I have for my STi.
I really want a small rear lip style spoiler, very low profile i.e. like the one I have for my STi. p.s. that's not my STi, mine is blue...just an example for you.
Paid $5300 for my bone stock 98 GST Spyder with 53K original miles in June 2010. Car runs great, a few dings and scrapes, faded paint. Can't beat 53K miles though!
Located in Sacramento - also posted on craigslist: 98 Eclipse GST Spyder Convertible w/only 58K original miles PRICE DROP98 Eclipse GST Spyder, 5-speed, great mechanical condition with only 58,000 original miles! This car has been well maintained, only has a few dings and dents common with a...
I have an '04 STi, bought it new...love the car, most reliable thing I have ever driven. Some mods, nothing too over the top. Only complaints: had a issue with the cruise control (recall) that was fixed, seat belts are a bit squeaky, and there's a lot of road noise - which honestly I expected...
