I have a act 2600 6 puck sprung disk with the act chromoly flywheel and have had no issues. I had it installed at my shop and plan on having upwards of 500whp and torque soon. I was told it would have no problems holding it.
Is it a walbro fuel pump that you have. Some aftermarket fuel pumps make a hissing sound and it is normal i have a walbro 255 and you can hear it inside the car at idle.
I had Turbo Trix do all my work there prices are competitive and Iam very happy with there work. They are always busy so that should speak for it self as far as the quality of there work. I did hear Dog box is good allso.
I have a 3in tbe from Megan Racing and i love it no problems with fit or finish. I have also heard good things about the apexi exhaust systems and know a couple people that have them if it was up to me though. I would say megan Racing is the way to go.
You shouldn't try to do donuts or burnouts in awd cars you can mess up the drivetrain. Just don't want to see more problems arise then have. As for the issue with the car not starting im not sure. I have a 1G so things are different. You can have a harmonic balancer or the crank pulley they...
Like said you do get what you pay for i have a ebay big 16g that was bought over 2 years ago. I have no problems at all i am running 20pds boost on my built motor and have no shaft play at all the turbo is still like it is brand new. I have had it ported and was told it doesn't need a rebuilt it...
These cars can be reliable like said its just a lot of maintnence and tlc needed. I got my 90 Talon TSI AWD about 8 months ago i threw alot of money into bolt ons just to find out that the newly rebuilt engine with 20,000 miles in the car had rod knock due to junk bearings being thrown in. I had...
I would check the idle speed control like stated before. There is a website DSMISC mitsubishi came out with a revised version of the isc and this talks about the install to.
I would like stated by others already either get a mbc and turn the boost down for now. Or get the turbo ported which i just got done to my big 16g i had the flapper housing ported. The back of the turbo and the o2 dump and now i am pulling 20pds boost until redline. With the stock...
Nice run for your 2nd trip down the 1320. Sucks about spilling the oil and getting rod knock. I had rod knock because my bearings were shot and now i got a built motor Turbotrix Racing ftw. Good luck with the build and meeting your goals for next year.
I paid $3000 for my 1990 Eagle Talon TSI AWD 5 speed. It had 20,000 miles on a rebuilt engine and 97,000 miles on the body. Turned out the bearing were installed wrong so now i have a built motor ftw Turbotrix Racing all the way. Getting my new engine with 500 miles tuned on wednesday can't wait.
I would use synthetic oil in the long run i think it is better for our car especially considering they are turbo cars. As long as u dont have any leaks i would use synthetic i like mobil one oil i'm using it in my talon and my 1991 Dodge Daytona 2.5l Turbo.
I would replace the dipstick it cant hurt to be safe and theses cars are known to have the dipstick pop out if you are running high boost. The last thing you want to happen is run out of oil.
Ok thxs I have a set of ss lines i ordered about a week ago and am still waiting to get them. I will install them once i get them. I have only driven the car around the block bc i dont want it sitting.
I have a 1990 Eagle talon Tsi 5 speed with a slight brake line leak from the rear passenger side. I was wondering if there is a proporting valve that cuts off the brake fuild from going to that area? The last couple times i have driven the car i have noticed it isn't leaking anymore. I have...
I have a built 90 tsi and don't have any of these problems. I have a koyo racing radiator, with a oem thermostat, gates racing hoses, two slim fans a 12in and a 10in and a power enterprises radiator cap. With a fmic. I personally would get the aluminum rad n oem thermostat n two slimfans make...
You won't lose psi by running a blow off valve like said these cars come with them. The 2g blowoffs are made out of plastic and commonly known to leak with the boost turned up. The 1g blowoffs are good and watch with the aftermarket ones. You should not vent to the atmosphere unless you have a...
I would recommend oem bearings thats what i have in my build and its proven. I haven't had a single problem yet. as for seals etc like the headgasket i would recommend either a cometic or a mitsubishi mls head gasket. Oem parts for most seals. Whatever way you go good luck with your build.
U just have to get lucky with these turbos. If i didn't buy my car with one on it i wouldn't have it. I now have over 23,000 miles on my ebay big 16g with no shaft play at all.:hellyeah:
Ok i'm sure there is other j-pipes that fit this setup. that aren't custom just do some research and you should be able to find one that will definately fit.
Im not saying it isn't possible to run 12's on a 14b turbo it is.It would just be a lot easier to hit your goal with a 16g and you wouldn't be pushing the turbo as hard. Which in turn would propbably give u better reliability in the long run.
The chilton manuels aren't bad but for this car i specifically like the haynes manuel better. Haynes has a manuel that covers for years 1990-1994 and another one for years1995-1999. The Haynes manuel goes into a little more detail with all the repairs. Also just a fyi the car overheats when it...
Yes i dont know specifically if that j-pipe from ETS will fit. I ordered a fmic from Slowboy and had the work done at Turbotrix in Edison, NJ. At that time they didn't have the j-pipes either. Turbotrix made a custom j-pipe to work with this intercooler.
i have a full 3 inch turboback it sounds pretty aggressive. I have a megan downpipe, testpipe, and catback exhaust. I also have a header. If you got all that stuff maybe not the testpipe depending on how strict emissions is in your area you should be more then pleased with the sound and...
Well including just the engine block and head its not to much. I got a rebuilt engine from turbotrix for $6800. That is a 2.3l stroker with wiseco forged pistons, Manley i beam rods and all arp bolts and a full racing head.It has a 2.4l crank all gaskets replaced and the water pump, oil pump.
I have my big 16g turbo bought on ebay for 2 years now and it is still boosting strong with no problems at all at 14psi.:thumb: I have 22,000 miles on the turbo.
