Sorry to bring this up AGAIN, but does running the spacer effectively bring the offset to +27mm? I know that you can't actually change the actual offset of the wheel without changing the wheel dimensions themselves and the spacer just increases the back space of the wheel.I'm curious because...
Just as the title implies. What are we going to do as a group of enthusiasts to fix this issue. Gear sets for DSMs/EVO3 are becoming more and more scarce with the price going up and up. As a community we can solve this. Obviously, the market is there.I come from the aviation world and I have...
Would this PIAA kit work, instead of an H3 housing?http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/2100hid.html*EDIT* Damn, I just found out the price on the damn kit and it's around 900.00. That cost more than I bought the damn car for WTFThe 2100XT might work though.
Thanks for the heads-up. I kind of wondered why there so many damn SUVs here in Japan anyway. If the fact that you had aftermarket lights on your car makes you at fault for an accident that you were trully not at fault for, then you either didn't get a laywer that was worth his fees or you...
At that point you would go to court and provide evidence that the lights that were in your car at the time of the accident were a higher wattage, aimed better, and illuminated the road better and I almost sure that anyone with a couple of brain cells would let you off the hook.Besides if it...
Thread revival :D :D :DI have been trying to figure out what Jose has used for his actual headlights.Anyone have any ideas. I have searched both here and DSMtalk for the answer and got tired after wading through 30 pages of posts. WTF
I wasn't there for the SO this year but it seems to me that this is the same BS that has happened the last few years and I am sure those businesses are getting sick of it. Hell I know I would. On the flip-side, we do bring a shitload of money to the town the weekend of the shoot out with...
That makes sense.Does this kit allow you to tune using the translator? The DSM MAF-T allows you to tune, and if this translator doesn't allow you to tune then you will need to get an AFC or DSMlink or equivalent to tune with.
Where are you saving any money? I see that kit at 439.00 and the MAF-T is 200.00.I would make sure you research it completly before slapping the cash, instead of taking the sales guys word for it.
I've never heard it put like that before. :DI suppose if you have to ask the question you need to research it a bit more. I would also research your turbo choice a bit more also.
What is your determining factor in the product choices of FRH and HKS?I would probably lean towards cams first then the SMIM. Have you looked at FP cams?
1mm over is a little overkill if the car doesn't need the mods agreed? What purpose would it serve if the motor is fed by a 14b or a 16g or similar? The answer to your question depends on what you are doing with the car or planning on doing.
I am in the process of pulling the speedo cable and I can't get the thing out. I have pulled the cap, pulled, nothing WTFPut the cover back on, removed the 10MM bolt, pulled and it didn't budge WTFAny ideas?
I see now. However, what would you do about the lines from the rear and front bumber. I am sure the intention of the top molding was to keep the flowing line from front to rear, and you can see that line is lost in the orange 1G.I would like to see what the rear looks like.
Because most DSMers are cheap bastards, and I am one of them. 35.00 doesn't sound like a lot of money but when you add up a whole bunch of 35.00 things you get a huge number after a while. Also, why should I pay someone 35 bucks for something that took about 3.00 in material and a half hour...
I didn't dole out the cash for the symborski shift kit, I just went to my local auto store and bought a package of washers that fit the bolts coming off of the shift plate. Pulled out the rubber bushings and stuck washers on top and under the plate.Shifted like butter after that. Less...
I don't know if I would power wash the motor but there is nothing wrong with using water under the hood as long as you cover the alternator and other exposed electrical components.
The door is not closed all the way. The rust is not causing it to stick out at all.The only rust that looks really bad is the rust on the door. Everything else looks managable, but we'll see. I will have to get it to the body shop after I get it running.Any other comments?
I just picked up a 91 TSi AWD and I am about to begin working on it. I have noticed several body problems with this puppy. All are rust.First off, the left door has some rust that has gone beneath the lower trim piece and has made it's way to the other side of the door. Not horrbibly bad...
Powder coating is a different way of painting something. The paint blown on and then set in an oven and heated at high temperature until dry. Looks very very nice.
He's right, if you don't know what kind of numbers this built car is capable of, then you really should pass on it. You will be looking for builder to rebuild it after you blow it up in less than 3 months.
Here's a question I have.I just picked up my car on Sunday. How will I get notified about the recall? Obviously I know about it, but I have read you need a notice. Will they send me a notice about it or should I inquire about it.
Does anyone know the counties that are affected by the Emissions testing law in Illinois?I know Cook and portions of DuPage area but I am trying to find out how far West I would have to go to be out of the testing area. Thanks
There are three mods that I have read you have to do.1. Starter mount bolt holes in the dust sheild have to be bored out a bit because of location.2. Bend the shift cable guide3. (optional) remove the ballast weight
I am thinking of picking up a 90 AWD rolling chassis that needs a motor/tranny/transfercase.Question is about tranny selectoion. Which one standard 1G tranny (22 spline) or 2G tranny and transfer case (23 spline)Thanks,
Just looking at the pulley won't really give you an indication of it separating. You will have to pull the pulley off and it could quite possibly fall apart in your hand, like mine did.If and when you do pull the pulley off, if you see any indication of it rubbing against your lower timing...
I would stay away from the 3" exhaust. You will have absolutely no low end torque. NONE. 2.5" is cutting it close. I have a 2 1/4" exhaust and a header and I have lost some low end torque. On the upside, I have a real nice top end pull though
