I'm starting a new 6 bolt build and would like some input on new and used oil pumps. In the past I've re used my old oil pump with success after refurbishing it. I always clean the galleys well, intall new seals, inspect for warpage and cracks, inspect gears, gear and balance shaft housings. i...
Hello all! Ive searched for days for info reguarding these cams. Ive had no luck identifying them so thought Id try the experts. I got my head rebuilt and the shop told me there is no difference in 90-94 cams, which i know is not true. So Im kinda scared here. The cams have the marks B and G on...
Ironically enough my first car was a black 1990 Mistubishi Eclipse GSX. The year was 1996, and I was 16 years old. I bought the car for 5k, put 5k in repairs, then sold for 5k. Ha! I miss that car.
I would keep the car as stock looking as possible, but that's just me. Not a big fan of unnecessary body kits and lights. As far as exhaust and intake, they are right. The ebay intake with a k&n filter works great! If you go with a cold air intake just make sure you have a water by-pass valve...
I've been running ebay header and down pipe on my rs for about 2 years now with no problems. When you get the header bolted to the down pipe, it is quite snug, and you may have to force it through a bit. Mine doesn't leak under the hood at all. If this is your dd then I recommend leaving the cat...
My 96 RS did the exact same thing. It would die while driving. It was a bad camshaft positioning sensor. Also the crankshaft sensor can cause the car to stall. Good Luck! :D

Not sure exactly what I did to fix it so I'll just list everything. The battery wasnot strapped down, so I secured it well and tightened the connections. I also took off the camshaft position sensor and cleaned all the oil and crud off, and put it back on. It's been over a week, and everything...
I think it's just a t-fitting. Like what you use to hook up a manual boost controller. These maybe?

Sounds like you need to replace the tps to me. Go grab one from a junkyard or if you prefer new, local parts store. STM or DSMGraveyard may carry those too. Also, i'd go ahead and change that fuel filter. You will need an open ended wrench to get the high pressure fuel line loose from the old...
Yeah I understand it. I'll look closer by pulling the wire off. Probably not a bad idea to go ahead and change it anyway. Thanks! I wonder what the deal is with the camshaft sensor then?
Look at your master cylinder reservoir (where you pour in fluid for clutch) there is a rubber hose that connects the reservoir and the cylinder. If it's leaking from that hose, will will probably see your paint peeling underneath it, from the fluid. If so, replace that hose, and be sure you get...
My clutch did the exact same things as yours. It was the master cylinder leaking fluid under the dash, and all over the carpet. It was an easy fix for me. I suggest picking up a repair manual for your car and repairing it yourself. You will save money this way. :thumb:Good Luck!
Let me start by stating I hate asking for help, in pretty much any situation, but I am stumped here. I have researched dsmtuners and 2gnt.com, and although I have found similar problems, but nothing as unique as mine. Some info on the car:96 Eclipse RS Lightly modded (mostly bolt-ons)...
Lets cruise up to Cove Lake State Park. It's a nice ride through the mountains, towards Lexington, Ky. They have facilities there, we could grill out or something.
We will get something going soon. I say we meet and ride up to Cove Lake. It's 25 minutes from Knoxville. We can grill out and everyone can take the kids, and have a good time. :thumb:
Well, I'll be taking someone with me. Gage has a few coming. Nick said he was going. Guess we'll see. Kevin I live near Halls, if you are stil in Corryton, you can meet up with us and follow us out there. Call or text me 865-712-2267.****************UPDATE******************

This just sounds funny coming from someone who drives a swapped Talon. :DApril 10th sounds good to me. Hope the weather is nice! Are beers allowed at the park? BYOB!!! :hellyeah::rocks::hellyeah:Gage can you provide directions to the meet?
Well then we need to group up and go up there and show everyone how we roll. :hellyeah: 1g's and gvr4's FTW! Most DSM meets I have attended have been pretty weak. I heard there was a big one in Florida a few weeks ago. I still can't get hold of anyone at 411 btw.
If I can get the Laser up and running well, I'd like to go. I still have to rebuild the head, and fix some odd ends. If I took my 420a out there, it would probably blow up. lol. I'd also like to get another local meet going here in Knoxville sometime soon. I can't get a hold of anyone at 411...
How did you add 100hp over a 4g63t with a stock 3000gt? I'm liking the laser. Have you ran it on high boost? When my Laser is finished I'll run with ya. Good luck on the sale.
Here is a link to an upcoming, local DSM meet. Looks Like fun.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/southeast-region-dsm/363349-2nd-annual-mitsubishi-mountain-meet.html:dsm: :talon: :laser:
I saw the Talon on cl. It Looked pretty sick, but sounds a bit pointless. It's adding extra weight and you gotta pull the motor to work on it. Why not use a 4g63? It's a great accomplishment, and looks nicely done. Is he using the stock tranny? I'm rebuilding the head on my Laser. Also have a...
Nick just did some work on my Laser. Not only was the work excellent, he charged me half of what the other guys were charging. Nick is a good guy, with good prices. Give him a visit! :thumb::thumb:
I'll be checking around with others for the next few weeks and set something up. March sounds appealing to me. That should give everyone enough time to get thier cars ready. Join us on Facebook, at East Tn DSM.
Yah It was 16 degrees this morning when i changed my slave cylinder. We had a decent meet once everyone showed up. Not everyone's car was running, unfortunately. We should try for another meet this spring.
