My transmission is a brand new TRE stage three unit so im assuming he took care of the select lever, but ill check that out as well!

Its more of a self control issue. Every tuner I've spoken to seems to agree that a 2.3L shouldn't be revving over 7500RPM. Will it rev higher than that? Sure it will, but for how long? These over revving issues are always wrist-pin failures and boy are they catastrophic. Here's a recent example...

Every 2.3L I've seen fail has been due to an over revving issue. Even when the tune and engine assemble is on point, there's only so much mechanical limit a 2.3L has to offer.

If you're really in a pickle, my local machine shop does it. I just had mine resurfaced yesterday to .610 step height.

Try TMZ, Jacks, and or TRE. I believe they still offer this service for us. Also just an FYI our flywheels fit perfectly in a USPS medium flat rate box so you can get it to them cheap and fast.
