It was turned all the way clockwise, but it was supposed to be right at the halfway adjustable point. I turned it back to the marks as I couldn't borrow a timing light. So I'll time it dead-on when I can.But right now, it's running great. No knock, pulls all the way to 7k. Love it. :thumb...
Welp, I forgot I messed around with the CAS a couple of weeks back (because I thought I would be able to set base timing via DSMLink.. I'm still learning). Saw where it was before when it was timed right and put it back.No knock, and it runs like a top. I'll go do a pull and post the log...
Still didn't fix the issue. If anything it's getting worse and now it stalls everytime I push in the clutch in gear to coast to a stop. Downshifting doesn't help either and it will stall when the clutch is pushed in.
Did a proper boost least test thanks to some help from my girlfriend and we were able to pin point the leak (it was a big one) coming from the cylinder #3 fuel injector. So once I get some O-rings I'll post the results and see if it's fixed. Thanks again for your help My1GLaser.
Replaced the old O2 with a new NGK one, still getting knock so I assume I have a boost leak. Also I believe the blue smoke is due to bad valve stem seals. My compression and PCV valve are both good so that's all that's left to blame. Unless it's a headgasket... knock on wood.
Yeah I should definitely check the knock sensor, when I find out where it is haha.Running 91 octane always still on the stock 450s, and I haven't double checked my base timing yet.I noticed my O2 sensor looked weird too so I'll definitely replace it because it's probably over a year old.I...
That's not part of my budget at the moment so it isn't an option. But if there was a boost leak that was causing my problem I could easily fix it.All I'm asking is if someone knows what could cause these issues without needing a wideband.Thanks.
Hey Tuners,Here's my most recent log, I don't know what's causing my car to not run right. I'm seeing some weird air fuel estimated ratios. Here's a link to my last thread explaining some of the problems I've been having.PROBLEM SOLVED: BASE TIMING OFF
Pretty much a brand new turbo, absolutely no shaft play as well.. checked it.I did a boost leak test and found out my BISS was allowing air through. I fixed it but I'm still getting the same symptoms.
I'm having a problem with my car (running link v3) at the moment. Idle's fine, timing's dead on, but if I hit the throttle over 3000rpm it will stall when it tries to settle back down. It also blows quite a bit of blue smoke (oil burning) out the exhaust while this happens, and I am seeing over...
Ended up being bad gas. Popped the intercooler piping off and sprayed some QuickStart into the throttle body while holding it WOT. Cranked it over, it burned a lot of bad gas then I added a jerrycan of 94 octane to balance it out.Hope this solves other people's problems!Cheers.
I was going to drain the gas by running a line from the fuel return line on the fuel rail into a jerrycan while turning it over until the tank is empty. Also doing a compression test, I'll let you know how it goes so I can get this thread resolved.
Hi tuners,I had my car parked for about a year and putting it back together after I had a bit of an accident. After it was all together it started right up but the brake lines for the rear blew so I redid those. After I was done I charged the battery and tried to fire it up, but it...
Anyone else seen this? Sorry if this is a repost but I'm sure there's people who haven't seen it.TRP RACING TOYOTA COROLLA 4G63 TURBO RUNS 7.69 @ 180 MPH - SYDNEY DRAGWAY - 17.12.2011 - YouTubeCheck out some of the other vids on that channel, like the blown v8 nova. It's a monster.
I'm probably going to have to do some grinding, sandblasting, painting and undercoating.. looking at the condition of the underbody. Lots of surface rust.
Now I know what to look for to see if I need to replace a bent part or just get a camber kit. It's quite the slant so I'm expecting something's broken.
Yeah, I'm pretty new to alignment terms. I've never done this type of work before. So you're saying I absolutely can't do it myself without the proper tools? Also, a camber kit is a one time use kind of thing? Or can I get one, adjust it, then send it to a mechanic and they can readjust it if...
I can't drive it for the time being, and the slant is significant enough for me to question driving it.Is there any way I can just adjust it a little myself so that it's more horizontal before I inevitably get it done by a professional?
It appears my car has a very noticeable slant in the driver's side rear tire. The bottom sticks out more than the top of the tire. Can anyone walk me through how I can go about adjusting this myself? Thanks. :thumb:
Hey tuners,Just a quick question regarding the difference between the two lines. I need to replace the front driver's side brake line, because it was pinched by the tire in my crash. How different are the two pieces? And can anyone tell me exactly where it's routed along with the length...
Reminds me of Ford too much.I like gofer's FlexFuel logo the most. Definitely would consider putting that on my Talon if a few more gas stations supplied E85, oh and after I get DSMLink. :P
Epic build. Can't wait to see what this beast is capable of, good luck on the mid 8s!By the way, I hope you don't suck any birds into that giant turbo. ;)
Everyone.. it was I who edited the Eagle Talon wiki page and edited the production numbers. I added the production year 1989 and put 10 as the production number.Just a little joke I did with a friend to see if it would stick. I did that three years ago. :|
I need to replace the front driver's side control arm and also the driver's side axle (some other random parts too, but it's alright for now) on my 1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD (6/4).What cars can be my donor cars? Will a FWD control arm work? I know I'll definitely need an AWD axle, but from what...
