Check the plug wires, my buddy had a 1990 talon tsi, couldnt get it passed 3k even when he floored it. He was getting lost of knock also. He put a new set of plugs and wires in it and it took care of the problem. Not saying that this is it, but its someting to consider.

Well if your getting knock, cars usually have a good way of letting you know. It would be pretty slugish because the pcm would detect the knock and retard the timing making the car alot slower. Like everyone said get a logger to see if you are, its the only safe and sure way to know :thumb:

Do yourself a favor, save some money and buy a genuine MHI turbo, its better in the long run and you most likely wont have to worry about it! :rocks:

look where the throttle cables mount by the throttle body, mine was actually too tight causing it to idle high when the engine got hot. Just loosen the 2 bolts when it is high idling and see what it does for you. :thumb: -Alex

Check your shifter cables and make sure they are working properly, my car was doing this for a while and then the cables actually broke so i had them replaced and it was fine. Your synchros might also be going out too
