The original issue is intermittent lack of power. If you can monitor the intake manifold pressure and that is consistent, that rules out several things. If you have a wideband O2 gage then that would rule out several others.I will assume that the car is not dead so running lean and/or...
I have had the worn axel cause a wobbly experience, it feels more than an unbalanced wheel but less than a loose wheel. Take the tension off the drive train, if you can feel excessive play in the axles/CV shaft they will cause this.
DSM brakes are always loud, I am always hearing brake noise. It could be tire noise, or bearing noise. Does the noise change when cornering? Or more when the tires are warmer?
The other boost leak. Could it be a PVC valve leak? I am hearing the same thing and buying the extra check valve from US Plastics right now. The Auto zone/NAPA valves leak right out of the box.
This same event happened to me. It stuttered under load for a few days and then just quit. However I have never seen the security light. It was a loose connector on the coil pack transistor. An easier way to find your specific issue is to remove the connector from the ECU and use a...
I had this with my MAF translator, it may apply. The white wire going to the transistor pack. When I spliced the MAFT to it, it cut the wire and was barely holding on, at certain RPMs it would drop #1. let it idle and move/tug on the wire pack.Happy hunting
I second the oil cooler, if you change the head gasket and still have issues. When you get it running. Reroute the coolant past the oil cooler, run the car and if it's bad it will drip oil.
I had this problem. When you put the new belt on look to make sure the alternator lines up with the rest of the pulleys. the mounting hole on the bottom side of the engine can become wore and "oval" in shape. This allows the pulleys to stretch the belt on one side and tear.If so, the fix...
I agree, send it in unless you have experience in head work (sorry, no pun intended) and change your lash adjusters. They cause trouble with the knock sensor as they get old.Everything else has already been addressed.
It may be a slipped timing belt, bent valves and zero compression. White smoke would be a great indicator of a head gasket but the odds of four cylinders at once is rare.My advice is to rebuild. During the teardown you can inspect the block easy enough to see damage. You already have a head...
Thanks for the info, I have problems with the starter relay so I am trying to install a push button start.
I am not a noob. I know about the clutch and have long ago disabled that switch.
My problem is that I need the amp rating on the switch being used, I cannot find any diagram that would...
They say that you can do the best thinking in the B-room, questions as well?Sorry man this gave me the laugh of the day. I looked first, reading the posts set it off.
Okay I see I confused some people, what are the conditions for WOT? I feel are need some intelligence here. A + B or A + C = Wot con. And fuel trims act a different way on a >400 hz condition?Sorry I am new but I think we just fell off the wagon.

My dash rev meter bounces like there is a bad connection. The problem is intermittent, it only happens when there is a lot of vibration in the motor bay around three grand( I have removed the balance shafts). Sometimes it pegs above nine grand and goes haywire but it does not cut the engine so...
