I have a sinister 9 inch weighted core 1a in my mirage with a gtx3076 it does great so far. I haven't got to really test it due to injector issues, but i haven't lost any mph from my stock converter and i was letting off on the top end due to the car leaning out.:rocks:. For 900 bucks they are...
If it were me i would get the bumper and the tail lights from the 90. The 92 stuff has that area under the tail lights that always gets wavy and looks like crap.
the lightweight pulleys are nice except for the crank don't use one in place of the balancer. If you use one instead of the harmonic balancer you could end up with a broken crank.:notgood:
Differences in voltage like when you are on the brakes or turn on your lights will cause a difference in the sound the pump makes. It could be as simple as that.
Kiggly sells an adapter plate for that the trans needs to be spaced further to clearance the pump from the converter properly post a pic of where the block and trans meet from the front towards the top so we can see if the plate is in there it should look like bronze or goldish colored. Get a...
I would stay away from any plastic and superglue solution that you are considering. It will only brake off again and you will be in the same situation. Go with a new brass nipple any other solution will only lead to future headaches.
Yes that will cause a leak get a bolt in there asap. I was talking about the small tool that goes on a 1/4" drive ratchet to tighten up the pulley not the rod to depress the tensioner.
If you have the tool to tighten up the tensioner pulley set the crank so that about half of the mark to align the crank is off so when you tighten the tensioner pulley it will pull the crank into alignment and it will be timed just take your time and it will be fine. If you don't have the tool...
I always use a permanent marker to put the corresponding number of dots for each rod on the same side of the rod. Just to make sure I don't mix them up. Like one dot for #1, 2 for #2 and so on.
Are you topping off the coolant before you drive it? If so it may be too much coolant. When you drive around to see if anymore coolant is coming out are you getting into boost?
That is really up there. I originally wanted an 8" core 2 but when i was in the process of ordering it mike talked me out of it for the 9" core 1a weighted. I haven't tried to stall it over that yet. It seems like it will go higher, I will have a vac pump for the next attempts. Revving and...
great build:thumb: liking the sinister results too. I have a 9 inch it seems promising so far. I didn't loose any mph in the 8th and have stalled up to 4000 on a gtx30. It will be interesting to see what that 8.5 inch can do with a bigger turbo.
Not if it is leaking from boost. Only it is leaking from the diaphragm just take it off and pull vacuum on it, and see if it leaks down if you suspect a problem.
I would not leave those connections crimped. They will come loose with time from vibration. The best way is to solder them, do yourself a favor and solder all those connections. It will help you to keep from having seemingly random problems that are from bad connections.
No I haven't really done any traveling with the car. I just go to the local events in south florida. It's too expensive to bring the car around the state or neighboring states. I would like to though. It does get expensive with gas and all, but it is fun to meet new people and race. It's...
As long as it isn't knocking or excessively smoking, all I would do is the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner/idler pullies with mitsu parts just for peace of mind. After a compression test of course.
