    ECMlink Tuning advice (log inside)

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any tuning advice. I noticed the AFR seems a little off. I plan on upping the boost until my turbo stops producing. Let me know what you think please! Thanks

    Help on strange noise

I just put a QM Twin clutch and can't figure out what the hell this noise is. It seems to do it in every gear on a pulll. It doesn't do it by just revving the car. I have a log of a 3rd gear pull, but the video I'll post is of a 2nd gear pull. I also noticed that my idler pulley is VERY loose. I...

    Nightshaded clear corners look red

I bought new clear corner lights and nightshaded and cleared them. I put them on the car and installed chrome coated amber bulbs. When the light is on they look red I guess from the nightshade. Any ideas how I can make them look orange?

    Custom fog light covers

I used fiberglass, putty, primer, paint, clear coat and buffed it. It took a lot of time

I would, but I have an external oil cooler so I need the side openings just not the fog light openings

    Custom fog light covers

Does anyone make a nice fog light cover? I can't have fog lights because of my FMIC and I don't like them open. I made these, but the vibration made me loose the screw and I lost one:,(

Plugs wires with a JMF SMIM and Coil bracket

I am running a JMF Drag SMIM with the JMF coil bracket. I was wanting to run the plug wires to where I could still use a spark plug cover instead of just stretching them across the valve cover. Anyone have any tips on how to do this? Anywhere I could buy longer Magnecor plug wires for this or...

Does anyone make custom radiator brackets besides STM?

Ah. I figured posting it in a fabrication sub forum it would be self explanatory, but I changed it.Yes. I would buy them if they didn't have STM stamped across them

Put what in the title?I want a radiator mount/bracket like the STM one.

Does anyone make custom radiator brackets besides STM?

Yeah I wish I bought them when they were on sale. I saw those but I was really wanting black ones :/ lol
  18. HooKnBooK

Does anyone make custom radiator brackets besides STM?

I could buy stock ones, but I was hoping someone made custom ones so it helped out the both of us.
  19. HooKnBooK

Does anyone make custom radiator brackets besides STM?

Does anyone make radiator mounts for 2g's? I can't justify spending $100 on black ones from STM.

    Powdercoating stock brake calipers

Yes. Spray painting them red feels risky. To me...red calipers either look really good or really bad.
  21. HooKnBooK

    Powdercoating stock brake calipers

Yeah, I saw that kit at autozone. It doesnt look too bad for it being spray paint. I'll probably just do the vht kit and Black
  22. HooKnBooK

    Powdercoating stock brake calipers

That's what I feared. It already looks cheap enough, but If its not done right then it's really bad. Spending $800 on a set of calipers is definitely out of the question and most used ones are beat to hell and I don't not want bigger rotors than I already have
  23. HooKnBooK

    Powdercoating stock brake calipers

Ahhh. So I guess I would have to use the vht caliper paint? I'm guessing that it withstands heat better than normal spray paint.
  24. HooKnBooK

    Powdercoating stock brake calipers

Thanks guys! I'm still trying to decide. I didn't really want to spray paint the calipers because most of the ones I've seen done look like poop

Need some help deciding on speakers

I'm about to order infinity reference for the front doors and back panels. Every time I go to the audio store they usually sound the best to me. They also have good specs for range and RMS. If you buy a cheap eBay product you're going to get what you pay for.

    Powdercoating stock brake calipers

I was wondering if I should powdercoat my calipers. If so, I was either wanting to do red, black, or candy apple red to match my bov, wastegate and valve cover. Vote please and opinions would be nice.

    Plasti Dip

Did you guys sand the drip moldings before you plastidipped or are you just cleaning it, tapping off and then painting? I was also wondering if anyone is doing the lower moldings under the drivers and passenger windows?

    HTA FP3065 or FP3586

That's what I was thinking. I guess I could just get a ball bearing 6266.
  30. HooKnBooK

    HTA FP3065 or FP3586

I would go with the fp3586. I just didn't know if $700 is worth the 3lb/min. Right now it is a T3 with a vband. I have a punishment racing t3 manifold with a 38mm flange with a custom downpipe. So I'd like to go with a t3 and vband turbo

    HTA FP3065 or FP3586

My fuel setup is fic2150, walbro 450, -8an supply and -6an return, fuel lab fpr and filter on e85.
  32. HooKnBooK

    HTA FP3065 or FP3586

I was wondering what you guys thought about this. I was wanting to go bigger than my fp3065. I want at least 650whp. I know I could send me 3065 for $700 and get the 82HTA upgrade (making it a "3082" they said), but that just makes it flow 68lb/min vs the normal 65. Is it worth it or should I...

    Turbo suggestion

I kept the timing stock last time. The tune was very basic. A fellow dsm around me has an hx40 on his fwd car, and I would like to go a different route. I was debating on getting one of FP35s or one of the ball bearing PTEs and doing an AWD swap next winter.

    Turbo suggestion

This past summer I had a built short block with FP3065, 1250's, walbro 255, 4" intake, stock exhaust manifold to 2.5" turbo back, VRSF FMIC with short route piping and a 1g bov. Stock head and intake manifold. It was moderately tuned on 26psi and I wasn't very impressed with the outcome. I am in...

ECMlink Need tuning criticism and knock troubles

Hmm. I guess I'll have to look into it after I put the o2 sensor in. I would if I could, but I had a custom exhaust made for the vband on my turbo so I don't have an o2 housing.
  42. HooKnBooK

ECMlink Need tuning criticism and knock troubles

Could you clarify what you mean by "acting weird"? My log is matching my wideband. I just can't get the simulation to work. But I'm just going to put the o2 sensor near the wideband
  43. HooKnBooK

ECMlink Need tuning criticism and knock troubles

I'm still chasing my tail. I saw that my simulation drop down bar was set to rear instead of front. I switched it to front and this is what's happening? I'm thinking about just taking the downpipe off and just adding an o2 sensor back to it. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I haven't...

ECMlink Need tuning criticism and knock troubles

That is what confuses me. I set the switch point to 2.34 and it didn't change anything. Do I need to adjust STFT rates? I can't remember if I adjusted the o2 feedback yet
  45. HooKnBooK

ECMlink Need tuning criticism and knock troubles

I think this is my problem. I forgot that I had custom downpipe made to accommodate my vband hot side. Then just put the wide band in. Meaning I have nothing else monitoring. So hopefully if I put an o2 sensor near the wide band it should fix things?
  46. HooKnBooK

ECMlink Need tuning criticism and knock troubles

If you could help me, judging by the fuel trim video. Even on speed density and E85 I want my CombFT to be around 0-1% at idle? Mine is around %25...I don't see how that is possible. Wish their was a video for the same thing on speed density, but I guess I will have to read up on it more.
