If you get an exhaust that has a pretty standard looking muffler (oval), it'll most likely be quieter than one with a round muffler...

I'd say BIG16G. It's so common now that it's relatively inexpensive and it's proven. People say "16G isnt a bolt on for 2g's..", but if you think about it, it is. It bolts up to the stock manifold with no modifications. The only extra thing you NEED with a 16G install vs a T28 is a J-pipe...
I notice that a lot of V8 owners (F-body or stang) are haters. They see a Civic with a fart can and start talking sh!t about how ALL IMPORTS are slow and they would never own one. They fail to realize that a Civic with a fart can doesn't represent all imports. They forget about Supra's...
I bought a CIP 2gC (3") when I had my T25. It came with everything I needed to install it. Including two rubber rings to put around the T25 compressor inlet to make it big enough for the 3" rubber connector to clamp on.
We all like to hate on Fast and the Furious, but most of us own it on DVD (or MPEG or VHS), and most of us will go out an see the sequel when it comes out.
Never said it eliminates wheel hop, but it helps. After I installed a front strut bar on my car, it reduced wheelhop quite a bit, but I still get it every now and then.
Why would I lie or exaggerate? I'm not selling the intake shield. Personally, I couldn't care less wether any of you go out and buy one or not, I'm just telling you about my experience. When I put my cold air intake shield on, I wasn't expecting to feel a difference, but I did. I'm not the...
agreed. Last couple of times I went to the track I was able to get consistant 2.1's and I was revving to about 5k and slipping the clutch out. At 3k I would bog really bad and get 2.4+.Really it all depends on what you are most comfortable with...
The only way I can validate these results is my peak karma readings on my S-AFC went up from 1450 to 1650. I could definately feel a noticeable increase in power also.
This guy's driving could use some help BUT give him some credit. It's hard to launch FWD especially if he was at the track on 17" wheels with low profile tires! My best 60' with my FWD was 2.0 on 225/50 16 Goodyear Eagle LS. When I pulled that 60' I was consistently pulling 2.1's that night...
AHP Products has an intercooler kit for $750. It includes all new piping from turbo to throttle body, flanged for any BOV you wish, and a Spearco core. Great price
OK. Out of 3 runs, 1 was 291 and the others were 265. Torque didn't vary as much (251 and 245)... These 3 runs were made within about 5 minutes, maybe even less. This wasn't done at a performance shop, it was at a car show. Not to mention it was a hot ass day in Georgia. First run was 290...
Not trying to start a flame war here, but look at the picture of my car on the dyno...How the HELL are you gonna measure flywheel hp by hooking up a machine TO THE WHEELS!!!?!?!?! The machine my car was dynoed on can also measure flywheel HP, if it's hooked up to a flywheel. It was...
Definately upgrade the fuel pump, S-AFC is highly recommended, and I'd even recommend larger injectors (550cc). You don't NEED the larger injectors but they can help out if you ever get a chance to tune with a datalogger/palm pilot of some sort and a S-AFC. It is my understanding that the...
I have a 14B on my 2g and love it. (Click here to see my mod list.) I bought my used 14B for $200, BUT I was able to sell my T25 for $200 so it was practically free.
As for power with half ass tuning, my car dynoed at 291 hp and 251 lb ft tq at the wheels with half ass tuning. Granted the...
the stock rubber "S" pipe is more prone to leaking than the metal "S" pipe from Dejon. Also, I think flow to the TB is increased with the Dejon "S" pipe because of the way it curves into the TB. That would explain better throttle response. Plus it looks good. All in all I think it's worth it.
I have an autometer EGT and my probe is about 2in from the head.If I'm at WOT and my EGTs start getting above 1650 (the needle will keep going even though the numbers on the gauge stops), I shut it down. When Cruising I normally see between 1000 and 1300
I know a supra sidemount would be much cheaper than the sidemount I want to get, but for some reason I do not like the supra sidemount install on DSM's. I don't like the thought of having to 'rig' something. Not saying I haven't 'rigged' anything before, but in this case I'd prefer a clean...
He was interviewed by Turbo magazine a while back and he made a comment about how he slips the clutch on his launches because he doesn't want to break stuff...
Slipping the clutch to save trannys is bad because...???!?!????:confused:Slips the clutch AND still gets 1.4 60's??? Sounds like a smart guy and a great driver to me, so what if he doesnt do tranny killing clutch dumps. In reality, only an IDIOT would do clutch dumps with the amount of...
I currently have a 14B turbo on my 2g and WILL NOT be upgrading the turbo ever again. But, there is a few more mods I plan to do. 550cc injectors, some suspension stuff, and an upgraded intercooler. The intercoolers I'm considering is one from Dejon Tool (SMIC, spearco core 8.3x9.3x3.5), or...
BEFORE buying a HID conversion kit, you MUST read this. It will make you think twice about bidding on a HID kit from Ebay...http://www.intellexual.net/hidframes.htmlIt's long, but very good and very informative
I did a search a couldn't find the answer to my question. For those of you who have done the HID conversion, where did you mount the ballasts?? I understand that most HID kits are plug and play and easy to install/connect, but our engine bays are soo crammed that I cant think of a good place...
I have a 14B installed on my 2G and it's been a great bang for the buck. A 14B installs just like a 16G so you would need a 16G install kit. And it will take atleast 4 hours to complete the install. It's not hard, just time consuming. Check out www.cardomain.com/id/dsmstreetracer to see all...
When I push my clutch in after the car has been sitting for awhile, the clutch goes to the floor and stays. And when I pull the clutch back up and push it in again (and again and again and again), eventually the clutch pedal will operated as normal. Also I notice that the 'clutch fluid...
I'm very close to orderin the stage 1 intercooler kit from AHP. For the price he is asking it seems like a hell of a deal. Does anyone hear currently have/use this product?? I'm just curious on how nice it actually is. $750 for a kit this complete seems to good to be true...
