From what I have seen on tirerack.com the difference between the 235/45 and the 245/40 in terms of diameter is pretty minimal (.3" difference total, the 245 being 25.7" in diameter and the 235/45 being 25.4") With this in mind, do you think I would have problems with these tires rubbing in the...
Hey guys, I'm finally in the market for some new rims/tires. I have decided to go with the 5Zigen FN01R-C's in gloss black with a polished lip, 17x8" rim with a +35mm offset. I also have chosen to put on some Goodyear Eagle F1 GR-D3 rubber on the rims in a 245 wide tire. My question about...
I put these in my car a little while ago, just dropped 'em in and drove it around right after that, no degreeing done. You probably *should* have better springs to handle these cams at high revs, but then again, if you have a more or less stock head, you probably have a similarly stock bottom...
Why in god's name would you have him return the fuel system to stock-like when you are running a 2.4 motor with a gt35r???? WTF :notgood: No wonder you're getting butt-loads of knock.....Even at wastegate pressure it's probably too much airflow for 450cc injectors.-Steve
Screw the AFC, I would only go with DSMLink. For only marginally more money than an AFC/pocket logger combo (and yes you absolutely need a pocket logger to use an afc, otherwise you won't have any way of seeing what's going on, so add about 150 to the cost of the afc combo for a logger and...
Bwahahaha, did anyone see the little wussie standing in the middle of the circle pit at the end? ROFLI'm into the hardcore scene and i'm still not sure wtf that big dude was doing. Maybe he was tweaking on something? WTF-Steve
If you want one for use with a big powered stereo, look into getting a yellow top, they are specifically designed for that use. The blue tops are for marine use as was stated above. I ran a yellow top in my car for over a year with no problems whatsoever, fits fine on the battery tray.-Steve
Yes you have to remove the whole black plastic thing from the front grill. I don't have any exact measurements on hand, but the spacers were about 3" long from my memory, maybe 3.5". That's the best I can do for ya right now without going out and tearing off the front of my car.-Steve
It's possible that the flange got warped enough to cause a leak while they were welding it up for you. I would call Dejon Tool directly and talk with them and explain the situation, I'm sure they will take care of it for you. In the mean time you could slap some rtv on both sides of the gasket...
You may just want to call up HRC and ask them to send you the mounting hardware, that is really odd that they didn't send any of it to you with teh core. My full kit from them included these long bolts that screw into the foglight bracket holes (where the bolts for the fogs go) and four spacer...
I was actually thinking of entering my car for shits and giggles, then when i realized that all that would do was show everyone in charlotte and surrounding counties my car, along with probably getting it vandalized, it wasn't worth it. Besides, last year's HIN sucked in Charlotte. :notgood...
AHHHH!!! That would hurt like a motherf*****! (speaking from just having my nipples pierced)I'm currently enrolled in EE but am switching out for sake of expediant graduation. I can graduate with my pre-dental stuff and a degree in chem in about 4 more semesters, but if I stay in EE it...
Hahahaahaha, read the Q&A section:"Q: 200mph on bicycle wheels? Why advertise the top speed then?
Apr-18-05
A: AT 200+ IT DOES NOT NEED THE WHEELS.NO SEAT BELTS FOR FAST EXIT.!"ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL
Here's a shot with the front bumper cover off, dunno if this will help. The core for me sits right about flush with the bottom of the bumper cover, having the rmdsm lip has pretty much saved me from rashing the bottom of the core, I just scrape the lip anymore.-Steve
I will say this. I have the PTE gt-30r and it is a very nice turbo, 23 psi of boost by about 3500 rpm on the stock 2.0L. Mods are in profile. However, God help me if I ever manage to destroy another one. Less than a week after putting one of PTE's 30r turbos on my car, it injested a nut and...
I run this intercooler and have ran it on a 14b (overkill yes i know) and on my current turbo (GT-30r) and have had absolutely zero issues with heatsoak. At the very most after back to back runs it will be warm *maybe* for 1/4-1/3 of the way across, but the latter 2/3 of it is always nice and...
If you heard it straight from the horse's mouth, then I would trust them to know their products and what works. My bets are that you couldn't fit water lines on it even if you wanted to, the center section probably doesn't even have the ports for them.-Steve
The flange is bigger so that you don't have to dent the water pipe as much as you do with a stock manifold. I just installed my PTE GT30R and I still had to dent it a little to clear the compressor housing, but not very much. I have this manifold and it has been awesome so far. Nothing like...
It all depends on what you want as the final result, something that looks like crap, or something that is worth putting time into. The competition cars done by alpine and other major companies usually spend months building their cars easily. It all depends on what he means by a fiberglass...
I am pretty satisfied with my RNR exaust, after I modified it a bit so that it was what I ordered. (grrrr) Now that it's on the car, I like it, but I would look to someone else to get an exaust from, as I just don't believe RNR has the proper resources to be making exausts in a timely fashion...
If you want a bunch of information on fiberglassing, look at my webpage: www.sounddomain.com/id/welnas I think the writeup I did is on page 4 (or one of the pages just around there). That should give you a good idea of the process and materials, and where to get them. The bottom line is...
If you buy sound deadener, buy this stuff called "RAAMmat" from Rick McCallum: www.raamaudio.com It's just as good and about 1/4 the price of dynamatt (overpriced because of name).I used a little over a roll and did my entire car, literally (doors, floor all over every metal surface and...
Hehehe, everything looks like it's hooked up properly. At first I thought you had one of the lines on the MBC hooked up to the coolant overflow bottle line and I was like "Oh no no no no........ " But after looking I can see that it is not. Be sure to use your boost gauge when turning...
Sorry for the bad pictures. Just a few mushroom pendants I did while I was bored a few months ago, and a marble. Just got into glass from ceramics about a year ago with some minimal time on the torch, I need a bigger one to start doing some real blown stuff (which will be about 1000x more fun)...
Hahahahahaha, I was just out workin on my car last week and was pondering the exact same thing. Mine is only held on by one bolt and is loose, so I was wondering wtf it was for......
Definitely buy the ported SBR mani, I got mine and I love it. No problems so far and it spools a 14b like a top on 3" exaust. Can't wait to see what it does for my gt30r once i get it on...... :thumb:
And as always, the car even with expensive body kit, wing and cf hood.....is still on the stock swirlies. :| Too many angles going on there for the curvey 2g for me.-Steve
You could always try sending the rim off to one of the various wheel repair places. Google it and i'm sure you will find many shops that have fixed much more jacked up wheels than that.-Steve
I disagree (respectfully, no flames). I have my FP gauge mounted in the cockpit and it helped me see that my stock fuel pump was having serious issues under boost. It was not able to hold the correct fuel pressure at even 15psi of boost, where the fuel pressure should be around 58-59 psi, my...
It all depends on just how much power you want to make. PTE turbos are very nice. I would consider getting a PTE 50-trim. You are really going to want to port out your manifold and o2 housing though to decrease spool time.www.turbotime.us-Steve
The 2g head is very underrated. One of my friends just made 501 fwhp on a stock 2g head + cams and a gt35r. (built bottom end of course, it was made on 29 psi and race gas).Moral of the story: you can still make amazing amounts of power with the 2g head (I wouldn't worry about changing...
Spoken like a true northerner. :thumb: I lived in MN for the first 20 years of my life and all I have to say is that 39 is a heatwave for this time of year. You want cold, go up to the fargo/moorhead area in MN. THAT shit is cold. Dead of winter is like -10 with a steady 30 mph...
I can't believe no one hasn't chimed in and said to do a boost leak check. You'll be amazed what you find the first time, I can almost guarantee it. I found two ball-point pen tip sized holes in my stock intercooler. Who knows what you may find. It sounds like you have a boost leak though...
About 700 miles after buying the car, the TOB on my stock clutch siezed melting part of the bell housing (right at the input shaft). It also managed to mangle the spline teeth on the shaft somehow too. You can see the heat marks on the case if you look close. (needed new tranny + clutch, oh...
Here's my winter car. Nothing better than AWD in the snow. This is after a lot of melting after we got 1.5 ft. of snow dumped on us a week after I moved down to NC. I think I brought it with me from MN.-Steve
