Yeah I would definitely put my money on valve seals. I've had to do the in just about every higher mileage car I've owned.

I usually don't replace the bolts when i take the valve cover off. If it is leaking from the valve cover than chances are you probably just didn't seat the cover right on the gasket. Maybe the gasket slid a little when you were getting the cover on?

Yeah if you get a new valve cover, I would highly, highly recommend permatex. You may already know that, just thought I'd throw it out there. I use permatex everytime i replace a gasket. But not in place of a gasket just with it.

Have you checked your valve cover? Oil filter? Those 2, the head gasket, and the oil pan gasket are the only spots I can think of.

It couldn't hurt to check the head studs and see, but chances are it will need a head gasket. They're not too expensive. Some people reuse their head studs but I'd definitely go with arp studs. I forget what the torque specs are for those head bolts, but make sure you tighten them in the right...
