Those are 150mm length 21mm pin.. Manley does not make a 156mm 21pin rod for the 6 bolts.

Correct.. but your power band will be better with the 2.4L then any 2.0L or 2.3L possibly think about going with a 4G64 de-stroked 2.2L so you can rev it higher?

Make sure head comes with matching cam caps. check for any gouges or signs of a spun cam in the head cam journals. Also look at the deck and make sure there is no deep grooves or really bad detonation marks..As for block I would check the cylinder walls and measure it myself to confirm .020...

Have not ran the 280's personally on a 2.4L but our 2.4L LR with K272 cams is a blast.. The car makes monster torque and great power in our Evo on a 16g @14psi 348 hp and 399 ft/lbs... we also are on 10:5 comp pistons and E85

Sounds like rod knock, have you checked your oil for contamination of any type?

We built a 2.4 long rod in our shop Evo 8 there is a couple different things that you have to do to make it work.. other then that it will bolt right in.. The torque on a stock 16g is insane. We will be getting our numbers on this setup in a couple of weeks once our new dyno is installed. So far...

Nice numbers.. Pretty similar setup to our Evo 8 last year.. ECMLink V3 HX35 14cm^2 twinscroll FF Manifold, Stock block, E85 @ 30psi we ran a best of a 10.8 @133 with a horrible 60ft 2.1. We now have a 2.4LR with a modified stock Evo 8 turbo trying to make 500WHP on it :)

As far as I have seen, the stock 12cm2 housings have a way better powerband than the bolt-on setups. I ran a 7-blade HX35 in twin-scroll form on my Evo and it was awesome on the street.A 1.25 runner manifold and a 7-blade HX35 in a 12cm2 housing is about as fast as a 500whp turbo is capable of...
