I've done a little searching and have not found any place nearby - wondering if anyone can recommend an alignment shop in or around Sac that would be willing to align to non-factory specs and corner balance.I know of shops in Sonoma, Castro Valley, and Mountain View, but would really like to...
Edit: transmissions, fluidyne, 255 pump sold - removed. Here's what's left...Fuel pumps; $30 ea. These are bare pumps. You will need an install kit.
(1) Walbro 190lph GSS278
(2) Evo IX Fuel Pumps, Denso 195130-3570I'm located in South San Jose and work in San Carlos. I can meet...
My old 99GST passed smog every time at test only stations with an evo3 16g, hks264's, black fmic and piping, supporting fuel mods, 3" exhaust w/non CA high flow cat (no one ever checked), etc. No shiny eye catching parts, kept it looking as stock as possible.
I'm aware of the need to weld in a bung for the thermal switch, and I'm running (will be very soon) an FP68HTA, so I guess I won't have to worry about space when compared to you since I won't be any larger than the stock turbo setup's footprint. Thanks again! :)
It would not be a simple drop in replacement. It's shorter than an evo I radiator and does not have a filler hole. I'd suspect, much like my situation with the GVR4 that you would need a 1g thermostat housing.I've decided not to use this on my GVR4 for that reason. In fact, I've found...
I've got one guy ahead of you for that item. I'm unable to meet anyone until this next Wednesday, but if he doesn't come pick it up shortly after that, I'll let you know.
Trying to get some stuff out of the shed that I know i'll never need. Located in South San Jose. For the price of Free, I do not deliver. :)First up, a grey dash in decent shape from a 96 GSX that I picked up as a parts car for an AWD swap on my old GST. Miss that car. :(Next I...
I have a 1G Fluidyne Radiator for sale for $150. Located in South San Jose.Picked this up a while back but never installed it as I decided not to use a 1G radiator on my GVR4.
That's a friends car... however, it no longer exists. The engine, trans, and complete rear subframe was swapped into one of my GVR4's (that he now owns). The remaining shell was gutted and sent to Commercial Pick N Pull not too long ago.
The evening might not be the best time to organize a drive, seems like more of a day time event to me.Were any of you guys around back when we used to have a DSM Mt. Hamilton meet? Meet in San Jose in the morning, hang our for a little bit, cruise up the mountain, take pics, stop for food...
If I can find time to get an alignment, I'll bring out the GVR4.Last night I just completed my latest round of mods.
- 4 Bolt LSD install
- 4WS removal
- 1G Active toe eliminator install
- Powdercoated front subframe installed
- ES bushing install (complete front set)
- Prothane motor...
If my active rear toe eliminator parts show up on Wednesday (as they're supposed to), I may drop by the shop Thursday with that and a couple trailing arms in tow to see if I can get them welded on.I'll go out into my parts warehouse tonight (storage shed), fight some spiders and look for a...

...and now you've just learned that the next time you blow an IC coupler you can unplug the maf (causing the ecu to use throttle position instead) and limp the car home if you have no other options. It really does sound like you have a large boost/vacuum leak. Check all couplers, piping...
None. I didn't see a single DSM out there other than the one I brought with me.Stayed until 12:30, left due to boredom and hunger. It was pretty weak.Any of you guys actually show up later?
I also installed the complete ES bushing kit on my 2G, and this is one of those jobs where having the right tools will make a world of difference. I can't even imagine how long it might take or how frustrated I might have gotten if using only basic hand tools as stated above. I don't doubt...
Yeah, same user name as here. I haven't posted much yet and have kinda of slowed down on viewing the forums. I started getting too many ideas as far as projects and parts I wanted to buy for the car. I'm not ready for that yet. haha. Gotta slow down and let my wallet get a little fatter first.
I grew up a dsm'er. That's stuck with me for life. :p Taught me how to be a mechanic too. And speaking of the ones who work on their cars...Here was my car at 10pm last nightNew clutch and flywheel install. Just gotta finish putting a few things back together after work tonight. :)
I was busy that day and didn't have time to stop by. I drove past like three or four times though (I live near there) and saw the huge crowd. And yeah, I have a white 91 GVR4. I have no idea what number though, the badge was missing when I got it. :( Cosmetically it's kind of beat...
With the Norcalevo/Evoempire split, I'm betting the turnout at this event will be much smaller than last years capitol meet.Bring out those GVR4's though and maybe I'll stop by! I need some motivation to get working on mine. ;)
I just put a new TRE AWD transmission converted for use on a FWD on my 99GST and my flywheel inspection cover does not entirely enclose the bottom of the bellhousing. Where an AWD transfer case would normally bolt up is now an opening where I can reach up and grab my flywheel. Will this be a...
To add to whats been said, with DSMLink V3, an EPROM ECU is no longer a requirement for the 1G ECU's. ECMTuning, Inc. So no matter you're situation, you're covered....and oh, +1 more for white! My '91 GVR4 is white. :)
Its been a while since I've looked under the hood of a 2G, exactly how much did you move the fusebox? I'm not really seeing much of a difference other than maybe a missing/hidden bracket. Not feeling the red wire loom either, or more the black electrical tape on the red loom that sticks out...
Yeah, this is the white GVR4 that was at my friends house. He practically gave the thing to me so I couldn't say no.I only have the one pic above that I took with my phone. It's really not worth taking any more pics. The paint is old, the clear is gone in some parts, there are a bunch of...
Not even a year after getting rid of the 2G and I now find myself with a '91 GVR4. ??? of 2000. The badge is missing, and from what I hear a previous owner turned it into a belt buckle. It's driveable, but needs a good amount of work before I'll be happy with it. I'm switching over...
Still air cooled and at 4GHz. Nice. How hot does that CPU get when it's actually running at 4GHz?I recently picked up an E8400 but haven't tried pushing it beyond 3.6 yet.
Then there are the JDM VIII MR tails that I think are the least ricey of all. :)...or the IX MR tails which are similar but are gloss black instead of flat black like above.
If you're in Gilroy, you've already got a head start on me if you're interested in heading out to Marina for some autox. That's usually where I go, mainly with the GGLC guys but sometimes I'll head out there for the UFO events. You can find events in or around your area (and register) here...
I've had three.Started with a 97 RS almost 9 years ago.
Moved on to a 99 GS-T a couple years later.
Bought a 96 GSX for parts to do an AWD conversion last year. Now it's just me and my Evo. However, I've got someone trying to sell me a GVR4 and I'm having trouble repeatedly saying no...
Those volcano tacos are pretty tasty, but i'm not a fan of the hard shell, expecially ones that have been spray painted red (whether or not you can taste the color). :pI decided to make my own volcano menu items. For an additional thirty cents they'll put the "lava" sauce (the name for the...
A friend of mine had a state ref ticket. We put his car back to stock and then found out the news. His appointment was cancelled and the ref closed (for the time being). As it turns out, he was able to get CHP to look over the car, sign off on the ticket (they removed his ref sticker), and he...
My daily driver,I sold the DSM not too long after picking up the evo. I realized I did not need two high maintenance cars and I could use the money from the dsm to kickstart the mods on the evo. That being said, I just threw some new wheels and tires on last night (need to snap some...
