Do you have pics of the full blown set up? I am looking to upgrade my intake manifold and throttle body. I run AEM EMS so should not have a problem there. Also did the sensors plug into the harness? I have a 98 2G and from all the research the plugs for the TPS should be the same.
Nice numbers! My set up is similar to yours other than I tuned on a dynojet and didnt go past 25 psi due to my greddy I/C and pipes could not flow any more... The closest E85 gas station is about 30 miles from here, so no E85 tune for now until sometime next year... Enjoy the set up...
There are not that many left with running DSM's. Most of the people used to post on Carolina DSM. There is a cruise on the blue ridge parkway scheduled for Sept 28. There are a few DSM's attending. Ias of right now, I will be going. Also there are a few DSM's in the triad.
I second JMS Racing in Converse, TX... They built my car a few years ago, and I am still beating it down.... Need to get a hold of Jorge and have him come to NC to retune on pump and race gas. They also have an awd dynojet. Want that 500 whp on pump...
I have been looking at Cabrio World website for a new convertible top as well. I did some research and it looks like it is time consuming and you will end up replacing the parts that you break while taking it apart....
Thats my car. The reason I went with the 6262 is to hit my goal of 600 whp. No E-85 in NC so now I will have to do it with race gas, 110 octane. There is still more left in it on pump. The intercooler was not letting me gain any more HP, so I changed the I/C and piping and now it will get...
When I was running E85 in Texas I was getting 11-12 mpg. This was with a good tune from JMS and the AEM with O2 feedback and not really beating on it. The car is not my daily so when I do drive it, I drive it hard....
I upraded to an ACT twin disk from my ACT 2600 with a 6 puck. The twin disc has near stock pedal feel and clamps hard! The 6 puck held great for my power levels, but as I turn up the boost on race gas, the 2600 will not hold.
I have a 98 GST the got a GSX swap and my 98 7 bolt did not have the 3 piece bearings. As far as I know the 99 7 bolts had the 3 piece (half) bearings as oppose to the 1 piece(half) in the 97-98. I built the 7 bolt with the 1 piece halves and the motor lasted 1000 miles. The bearing thickness...
I have a 7 bolt built by JMS Racing and it holds really good. I put down 455 whp at 25 psi on pump. My goal is 500 on pump. I used to run E85 when I lived in Texas but there is none here in N.C. If you build the 7 bbolt I recommend getting the 99 block that has the 3 piece mains instead of the 1...
There are several shops in Maryland that can do the work liek amstuning.com. Also Goldfarb and Associates are in Rockville not too far from Atlantic Motorsports (amstuning, not the AMS from Chicago) to get a Holset from or you can get one form the classifieds. Just to show you some options but I...
Coolant Temp sensor does play a role in starting. Make sure you have the correct cam sensor for your ECU. The 98,99 models have the magnetic pick up like the EVO's and the previous models use a different pick up to fire the coils.
Are you using your stock 99 7 bolt head or a stock 6 bolt head? The CAM sensor is different on the heads and the firing is also different. I would take the COP off and plug the coils with the wires back in until you can get it started. When I had my COP without the dynatek arc amplifier the car...
I would not port or polish the exhaust side (or any side) without taking the turbo cartridge off from both sides in order to prevent metal shaving and dust from getting in between the turbine blades and the shaft seals.
Congrats on the runs! The green is a little monster. I enjoyed it when I had mine, the old school non hta green. Ran it at 30 psi on E85. So sad there are no E85 station in the Triad area in North Carolina. I am missing the HEB E85 already....
I had an ACT 2600 with fidanza fly wheel and a 6 puck sprung disc, and it held well with both turbo set ups. With the FP green it held 30 psi on E85 and with the 6262 it held fine. My tranny broke on the dyno when we went for more power. I had the tranny built and I upgraded to an ACT twin disc...
After doing some research I have not been able to find any E85 in the Triad area... Can anyone chime in and advise if there are any E85 stations near by, no further than 20 mile radius? Thanks.
Whats up peeps? My name is Argel and will be relocating to this area at the end of September.... Looking to come out and meet a few DSMer's.P.S. Are there any E85 around this area? I am having a lot of trouble finding a station that sells E85.Thanks,Argel Evil98SpyderAWD.
I run E-85 in the spyder and it is not my DD. I have different tunes one the AEM for lower and higher boost. When I have my foot down on the FP green that was in the car I got around 140 mp tank. Cruising on the highway 189 mp/tank (14 gallons). On the new set-up, 6262, when I beat it down...
I ran the older style FP Green at 30psi with E85 on 1 walbro 255 and my duty cycle was 90% on the FIC blue max 1250's and stock FPR. Tuned with AEM EMS. FP green is a hell of a good turbo with the right set up and tune.
If you were turning the cams without turning the crank, your valves might have been hitting the top of the pistons and that might be 1 of the reason it was hard to turn. I suggest you dont turn the cams unless you position your crank at a timing where none of your pistons are on TDC. As far as...
