All of them. The plugs for the water ports and the plug where the vacuum line goes in. They all bubble with soapy water during a blt. The bov is very bad. They start leaking at about 5psi or less. What color Rtv should I use? I wasnt sure if anything could handle the heat.
They have maybe 2 oil changes on them. They're not old in terms of use. They may have been purchased a year or so ago. The bov came from extremepsi and the MVS wastegate from punishment so I hope they're authentic. The bov has the a good o ring on the flange and it didn't look like there were...
Has anyone else had problems with their Tial Q BOV or MVS wastegate leaking during a boost leak test? These are my only boost leaks. The bov is leaking where the top and bottom sections connect and where it vents air. The wastegate is leaking at the plugs.
You know I don't remember if it had the stock or aftermarket o2 housing at that time or not. Getting rid of the cat made the difference especially WOT.
That was just a old eBay set up 2.5" to 3" downpipe to 3" catback
I hate to bring back an old threads but I'm having the same exact issue. I have ecmlink v3 full. I just finished putting my car back to stock to get it smogged. I previously had no emissions equipment. This cel is the only thing keeping me from smogging.
No worries, try using the search feature when you're looking for information. The FAQs don't quite cover every detail. I like the use google site search ex. (site:www.dsmtuners.com recommended gauges) to search the forums I find it easier than using the search engine on the site sometimes.
I'm curious would that Nissan adjustable regulator work on a dsm. Afprs are a auto fail on smog here in California. That one looks like it may be stealthy enough to pass by a smog tech..
If you are using the stock intercooller piping all you would need is a flange/adapter for the style bov you plan to use. I would recommend keeping it recirculated if you are still on the stock 2g maf.
I don't know if my vrsf or my buddies punishment kit will support 500hp or not, someone who is making that kind of power would need to chime in. The punishment kit on my buddies car has a little longer route piping but he has his fogs. His piping route is not longer than mine by much but it is...
Haha I hated wheel hop. I miss my gst though I'd like to get another one. Yeah it's about an hour. I've been thinking of driving up there to pick up a part on Craigslist but I just don't feel like making the drive.
You are correct that it won't fit the stock o2 housing. I have a punishment racing o2 housing mvs recirculating package and it fits great with my punishment racing downpipe. I'm on a MHI 16g.
So the black o ring that's on the an fitting in the pic above is all I need? It was my understanding two o rings went on that side. If I only need one and the blue was were replacements(unused) then that is great news.
Same here. On my 97 gst I had a full eBay turboback. 2.5" o2 housing 2.5-3" downpipe and 3" catback and held 13psi with no creep issues on the t25. On my current 98 gsx I had a 3" punishment racing downpipe to a apexi rs 3" catback stock o2 housing on the t25 14psi with no creep issues. I now...
Alright so I have one more question. I don't know what I was doing when I put the thing together but I noticed this.As you see in this fitting there is a black o ring on the left side. Well I had the blue ones on the same side. Do the blue ones go on the opposite side where there is no o...
Okay that is great news! Thanks for the info. There isn't much in there at all I just wanted to make sure. Wes thank you for the link and info I wasn't sure if it required special o rings or not. Thanks again Wes.
Well the o rings are all ruined. They're all ripped. I'm gonna try to find some more so I can order them. Also I think I had a stupid moment and used oil on those o rings. It looks like there is a tiny drop of oil in the afpr. Would this hurt anything? How could I clean it out?
Okay, thank you. I don't remember exactly what I used but it seems oily. Ill clean them off the best I can when it gets here and hopefully I didn't screw up my afpr. Thanks for the advise.
Hey thanks a lot Wes. I'm gonna have my girlfriend bring me my an wrench and afpr so I can fix it here so it's ready when I get home. Ill post a couple pics when I get it finished. Thanks again :)
Okay cool thank you, I'm glad I posted this. I believe I may have greased this. I put it together a few weeks ago and forgot to post this. I've been really busy with work and now I'm in the hospital. Yes the fittings came with the kit. They are an fittings. Ill take it apart and try to get them...
Okay, so I want to install my fuelab afpr so I can get my supra fuel pump and 2150cc injectors in. When I pieced together the afpr the o rings looked really weird to me and I just wanted to make sure it is normal before I install it on the car.
Okay awesome. Yeah check the other things mentioned in my thread first to make sure you don't waste you're time. I was dreading doing my alarm and removing the wiring was a pain I won't lie. It felt great to finish though and know the car is back to factory on the wiring and once I figured it...
Did you just remove the brain or the entire alarm and wiring? I recently had a issue very similar to this and it ended up being my alarm. Well I did it myself and it was a pain. Check the wiring and fuses on you alarm and make sure they all look okay. My car is a 4g63 but I'm sure some of the...
Yeah me too. I've always had issues with aftermarket alarms on cars. This one was a nightmare. There was a lot lol. I've been driving the car and it's been behaving perfect without the alarm. If it starts happening again I'll update the thread. Thank you to everyone for their help. Thank you...
I'll have to try another one. The only one I currently have was free from harbor freight. Thank you.Okay, well we will know if it was the alarm because I pulled it today. I have to finish it on Wednesday when I am off of work next. What a mess it was.The wires were going everywhere.
