I am building a very high hp engine, for now it will be n/a and be adding nos very soon, and then see where it goes. Then in the summer i will be going turbo. So all my work will be worth it, for a high hp engine going turbo or not, its best to reinforce the engine first. The engine wont be...
i am curious of how much including parts and labor it cost to build up the engine for a 2g non turbo, meaning just the engine, i jjust had mine built just curious, because all of my parts were custom fitted and made, we couldnt find much for the engine, but its good no.
ok, i was wrong and out of line, i just wanted to believe he was right, like i said i know a decent amount about the car, but maybe not the in depth little stuff and the hp levels. I never said you guys were wrong and i was right, so from now on lets say as you say, the builder is wrong, we'll...
you guys still arent getting the point that you dont know what i am building, but the numbers you have gotten from your builds make sense, but what the heck are you saying about tt 4 bangers, lay off thats easy why is that sh%t, and the whp number i got wasnt mine, so dont get on me about the bs...
a couple of things, yes alot of you guys know what you are doing thru experience and so forth, some do not. I know a decent amount, but not the actual gains of the parts via no experience. But saying the numbers i heard about my build that came from either the mechanic or my brother, not my...
all i am saying is that no one knows how much whp a certain mod or machine process will do, but generally maybe all are the same. but the tt 420a was what i heard. either way that doesnt mean anything to me. the numbers are what is said, i dont know any of you and i know him better. So thats...
i am still not down playing the numbers and you were bashing me about it, i dont care if you disagree and i still hope that the numbers will be that high, the way you were doing it thyat was stupid, not you disagreeing with the numbers, i am tired of people bashing me about what the mechanic...
i never said my numbers were important and when you started to bash me i also told you i dont think of those numbers, no one thinks that high, but thats what he said, so go back and read more, so nothing has changed.
another thing, why is putting a single turbo on a 420a like nothing special, but a twin turbo makes you laugh so hard, thats easy. and the car is being built for the sole purpose of turbo and nitrous. So i dont know how you going about me going both ways, when i am not, thaTS why i am lowering...
and whats the crap about me being able to answer any question about stuff that doesnt exist, yes i can answer alot of questions that are asked about the 2gnt and maybe so can you, i do smart small and give people advice, i dont tell them they are gonna get the numbers we say or to do what i did...
ok for one thing i said these numbers werent my numbers, so back off. And his eclipse also has .020" overbore, i am not claiming this is my power mod. the 375 is crank hp, but whp is much lower. I have done all my research probaly more than you, i am just now getting in to apply it. either...
you think the 420a eclipse is so slow, come race my all motor 420a eclipse, and it will probaly still beat your turbo or give it a run, neons such, they ugly, the 2gens are cool looking.
you telling me you running stage 5+ turbo on your car, what whp levels are you running and any timeslips yet. I am building my 96 eclipse rs all motor right now, so im curious what the 420a can, there is a guy down in roseburg, or that has a fully built twin turbo 420a motor in his eclipse...
if you want cold air, just go with a decent company they almost all are equall in gain numbers, dont just go with the biggest name just because that is what everyone does, if its alot more gain then it makes sense, but if not go with a decent one with good numbers in gain
have you found the mm on the bbk throttle body yet. AS of yet i have only found ones that are like 1 or 2 mm bigger, not worth it, i will amke one custom.
alot of the major companies for our engine have a intake manifold, most of them are the sheet metal ones, they look nice and have some numbers along them, probaly alot smoother flow and increased then the stock.
with my car, i went thru 3 camber kits before it held my drop in, i got the 1.2 kit all around, but it settled and i got almost 4 inches of drop, its very close to the ground, but i am used to it, i like it
if you are putting turbo on it very quickly then go 3" catback, but if not go smaller for now, and with the pump and injectors, its kinds trial by error, because since they have some many at differrent levels than your experienece is different than the next guy, so go off of the rating the...
its half and half on when you get a cel and what mods trigger it, it depends on what you do and how you do it, like the mechanic said if done right it wont trigger the cel.
no matter what the company, go with a big mm wire and some good plugs, better than stock, usually a level colder or hotter, depending on your application.
i wouldnt suggest nos on a completely worn older engine, do some reinforcing first, or there is a possibility of hurting somethin, maybe in a newer motor, you can run nos on no mods, but not on an older motor, atleast its not the smart thing to do.
just search the internet and calling people and companies and you will find everything you want, there is always a company somewhere that has stuff for a particular car. Just keep looking, you'll get it.
going custom is usually the best way, you make it the way you want it and its cheaper. then paying the outrageous prices for some kits their asking for.
one of the best ways to find intakes for a car they dont make alot for is, to find a more popular car and use theirs if it fits. My friends 99 accent is using my short intake off my 96 eclipse, the angles match up.
he jjust rewired the main harness to the ecu or ecm, sometimes when you swap, you have to add or subtract some options from the previous engine, sometimes even swap ecus or ecms.
i am doing a engine build up and some mods and im supposed to get 300whp on the dyno, this comes from a mechanic who builds these engines for a living. Go take a look at my mods list
all the headers will be around the same ease of install, most have around the same hp ratings, i have heard all good commets about the kamikaze headers.
