I've read almost everything on idle surge. I have a very very small boost leak on the bov adjustment screw, but it holds air very well. 'Base timing' I checked via cam gears, and fuel pressure is 43 lbs. Throttle body was rebuilt be Steve Monroe, a reputable builder...and also a rebuilt ISC...
Well I fixed quite a few boost leaks, the only leak it has now is very very minor at the adjustment screw of the BOV. The throttle body has just been rebuilt, the ICS motor tested fine with the multimeter, as did the coil pack. I reset my fuel trims in DSMlink. I uploaded the settings offered...
Thank you for the feedback. I am trying to trace why it is randomly hesitating...and basically un-driveable at the moment. I still have a few minor minor boost leaks to fix. Here is a log with the ISCPosition sensor logged. I also will note that I did not take the ISC motor out when I probed...
It's definitely in captured values, but shows up greyed out....I put a multimeter on the contacts, they all showed variable resistance in the hundreds. I unplugged it...and it seems to run fine now, and not hesitating/almost dying every 15-20 seconds like before....going to try to contact the...
Added ISCposition to my Captured Values while doing a stream, in an attempt to properly adjust my BISS...but the value turns grey, and doesn't show any real-time changes? It doesn't show anything? I was hoping to see a "30".....I may be overlooking something very simple, and I'm sorry if that...
Here's a quick idle log...I blipped the throttle right at the beginning because it about died. Then the rest is just idling, at operating temperature. I'm going to let it cool down, then I'll get a log from a cold start to operating temperature.
Car idles high (2000+ rpm) while in open-loop, warming up... no sign of any issues. Then when it gets warmed up, idle drops to normal, and a random hesitation occurs (once every 20 seconds or so, it just falls on it's face for a second...recovers 95% of the time...other 5% it will die...
Took off in my car the other day after I let it warm up and it started missing out really bad. Then had a friend come over and ride in it with me to see if he had any ideas, it idled horrible, then would fall on it's face while I tried to boost it, but then ran fine after that. But would still...
It's been awhile since I've been on here, but I have a question that's starting to bother me, now that winter is coming around. Every once in awhile my windshield wipers will stop working on my 98' Eclipse RS. Then I'll hit some railroad tracks or a similiar "bump" in the road, and they'll...
With limited searching (to see if there was already a thread), and curiousity; I decided to see what everyone (with the exception of those who have to have a state plate, front and back) has for their front plate. I, myself, have a "Greg Biffle #16 Nascar" plate (yeah, yeah, laugh) on my...
I hate to bring an old thread back. But for searching purposes, and to [RESOLVE] this. I bought a new EVO16G from ExtremePSI, my 14b had some shaft play, seals were shot....problem solved. "Thank you" to everyone who chimed in. DSM 4 life :thumb:Nick
Well, you nailed it. Kind of. Let this be a lesson to all, and sure to give some people a good laugh, at my expense. But for future searchers I will explain and "take one for the team"...It dawned on me this morning as I lay awake thinking about it. When I made the gaskets for the...
Just installed a 16g on my car, from a 14b.....It's smoking like crazy (priliminary start), but I noticed oil dripping from the 2 bolt connection at the o2 housing / downpipe. I torqued the bolts good, and installed a new "o" gasket, so how it's leaking, I have no clue....But why is my worry...
After having replaced my alternator on my TSI after it was voltage spiking (problem solved), a few months later my 98' RS started spiking. And me, having not researched enough, decided it was my alternator. Replaced it, then learned it was embedded in the ECU on 420A's. So my question is: Has...
The last couple times I've let my car sit overnight and started it in the morning, it has sometimes started smoking alittle, smelling of oil. But then it would clear up, so I figured it was valve related to some oil leaking down overnight. Well, today I started it and it smoked more than I've...
:thumb:It's all in what your vantage point is looking at certain cars....Mine looks awesome from the front, and directly from the side.....But looking at it from the back it doesn't look good sometimes. And the rear looks fine IMO, it's just a way you look at a car, my eclipse is the same...
Aside from all the smart, informative, and experienced people in here, who know what they are talking about, I'll say this.........If you have enough megapixels and a good steady shot, you can work wonders as far as: "graininess", too-dark, too-light,......with: Photoshop. I have a decent P&S...
Just a tip I learned......I have a nice tripod, but the best tripod I ever bought would have to be the one at Wal-Mart that has three legs.....looks like a bug creature......It's so handy in small places, without any set-up time....I've bought 2 of them, and somehow (drinking) lost both...
:45 into Spoolin's 2nd video, When Barkley throws the ball at the guy on the ground.....Awesome! :) I have a few Barkley cards, most showing him dunking, or in the dunk contests. I think he's damn good. Me, being from Indiana, was always a Reggie Miller fan.....He couldn't dunk that great...
I will say this. I owned a Vette for 5 years.....A light blue '79, 4-speed, L-82. And let me tell you: Everyone loves Vettes. 1 out of 3 times (literally) that I stopped at a gas station to get gas, I got a compliment.....and sometimes a long conversation ensued......I'm not a fan of the...
That's true. I was mostly kidding, because in my experience, and people I know: High School meant nothing in the real world. Although if you do Vocational it is good on your application. I shouldn't have made that dumb comment. However, it won't hurt your record if you get in...
God, I wish I was back in school.......Believe it or not, you have it easy ;)Real life, involves jail and/or major fines for dumb shit.... :notgood:Edit: For the record, nothing in High School affects your life......unless you don't graduate.
I have a Canon Powershot SD870 IS. It's a very nice "point and shoot", with some of the "fine adjustments". Aside from reading all the details above (I read alittle). I will say this.....I never change my ISO, I keep it on AUTO........Although I do change my exposure very often (I like long...
^ I agree. Look at my RS Eclipse......It's lowered and has nice rims, and a license plate/decals to support whatever floats your boat.....That's it. Tasteful, attractive,....not fast, but visually appealing.Edit: The Talon, however, stays "stock" and sleeping... emblem-less......
Good advice, however, you will run into problems anyways with the cheap crap reman. alternators we use. I say enjopy the music, and replace the alternators. Cause you will anyways, might as well enjoy yourself in-between times. :thumb: Just our headlights alone will kill our alternators, ask...
Just for the record. When I let my 420A sit for a week or longer, then try to start it.....it just turns over and over, unless I push the gas pedal all the way down while turning over. I'm not sure why it does it, but I'm assuming it's because the fuel lines aren't primed and it's taking...
I've had my current system in my Eclipse RS for a year and a half, and in my Talon for a month or so. No problems. I have a new reman. alternator in the Talon though, so we'll see if it holds up. I rarely turn it up though, like you, just mostly for music on the highway, when the chances of...
I just bought a Dell Latitude D400 a few weeks ago for $200 on Ebay. Used, but in great condition. Came with a good copy of Windows XP. 1.4Ghz/1GB RAM/40 GB hard drive......12" screen (nice and small, portable, great for the car) Works great.....It's a nice little unit. Maybe alittle much...
I'll add something......I rarely ever speed, but do catch myself speeding on occasion when in a hurry and stuff on my mind, maybe like 13-15mph over on accident. In that case it's nice to have a radar detector. I also warn other drivers behind me who may be speeding that there is a cop ahead...
I have the Escort Passport 8500 X50 Blue. Works like a charm. The only way "instant on" will get you is if there is no one in front of you getting radar'd first. But if there is a cop radaring a mile or more in front of you, you'll know. I love mine.Edit: Cops here don't have laser, so...
^^^Couldn't tell the sarcasm from my text......either that or he counted and came up with a smaller figure :)Edit: ^^^and has a sheriffs badge above his name. I just noticed.
He said he measured the voltage on the acc. power and it dropped off to 9.4V-ish. Usually I would've said the same thing. Grounds are a problem half the time, especially with a high powered system. The ground is the key, just as much as the power. But since he checked the voltage and it...
I would try a different temporary accesory wire......Pull the fuse out of the fuse box for "radio", bend a length of wire over one of the fuse prongs, then stick the fuse back in and try that as an acc. wire, see if it works......If it does, then you can just hide the wire under the dash and use...
Stock for stock.....they are both slow. Whoever has the most money can have a faster car. However, I've seen videos of modded GS-T's spinning tires through 1st and 2nd, maybe 3rd gears (that's why I waited and got a AWD).......at least with AWD, that's not something to worry about. And your...
For the record. My N/T Eclipse shifts like butter.....After getting out of my TSi I feel like I'm gonna break the shifter on the N/T. Because it's not short-throw, like the TSi, and it doesn't require extra force in shifting, you could shift the Eclipse with your pinky......The 1st gear syncro...
....."chick car", .....that is until you snap your passengers neck on full boost and it scares them shitless.......then they don't care what it looks like. Not to mention if your a single guy it's not a bad thing for chicks to like your car. My 2¢. I'm voting 2G chassis w/ 1G 6-bolt swap. I...
Well, I just went by my local Sunoco (haven't been there in quite a few months, it's alittle out of my usual course of travel). And they replaced their 94 Octane pump with a diesel pump. :notgood:What is the world coming to...........
