maintnance b4 mods. do a timing belt job first , new plugs, wires, filters, etc. then id do intake, exhaust, mbc, and see how you like it, maybe even a 16g turbo and 190lpg fuel pump and hot wire kit. that should make most people smile.
popular weight savings. the rack should be straight forward , as for the ac pull it all out condensor and all then get the belt from the above post. you just shaved probally 75-100lbs. good luck partner.
yes you can with a analog volt meter its tells how on vfaq and the codes are listed i think in the chiltons manual. good job on the pipes. ive had that happen to me b4.
man that sucks i got hit in my 93 2 weeks after i got it. still at the bodyshop getting fixed. you might be able to fix it if you wanted. good luck i hope you get paid.
what is the hp goal? 30 psi on a 70trim is alot. i would say at least a good h beam rod (manly, eagle) and some good pistons (ross, wiesco). is it going to be a 2.0 , 2.3 , 2.1 destroke ? need more info.
my wife has a fujita long ram intake on her galant ralliart it makes the mivec system loud as hell when you get on it. seems to be a good filter aswell.
i would say you lost pressure some where i would check fluid followed by checking master and slave cyinder, check lines for leaks. and report back what you find.
i would say a 14b and no more then 7-8 psi would be a significant gain i would imagine. stock motor should hold it as long as its not ragged out,and limpping allready.
where are the holes located? its not spark plug cover holes is it? maybe a cracked valve cover. pics would be awesome. i hate oil leaks. (dont we all).
what kind of power have you guys heard of people making on stock 1g big rods? ive got a motor im putting in a tsi awd its a 2g piston 1g rods. big injectors and a 20g turbo all supporting mods.
on the coolant hoses for the throttlebody if it has the bypasss they should be capped off or have a hose looped from 1 side to the other, if not then they should be connected to the (i beleave )the thernostat housing (backside).
what a pain that is i remember doing it on the 1g's that bottom nut is always the worst i start soaking the nuts w/PB blaster a week b4 i do it (helps some) ive ruined many lines from stuck bolts especially on northern cars....
with it being a gs-t id do a big 16g. ne more and it will kill the tires. asfor injectors id do 550-680. that'll be plenty to have a ton of fun with. good luck and the modding.
