I know this is an old ass thread, but I just solved this issue on my 2g and would like to share my solution. The connector on the signal wire to the starter wire must have been bad. I clipped the stock female connector off and replaced it with a new female spade connector. Now my starter...
Hey,
I'm having a starting issue that I see has been resolved by other DSMers by replacing the ignition switch. I don't want to have to replace my keys and I found a part that looks like I would't have to do that.Is this the part that is responsible for people getting a no start condition...
Just wanted to post my solution. I had the same symptoms as the OP. I had no power to the front wheels but my Rears would spin like crazy. Turns out i shattered the spider gears in my center diff.
Hate to bring this back 10 years later, but did you ever find a solution to this? I just had the same exact thing happen to me, except I don't have a welded center diff.
Hey everyone,I've been trying to replace my outer CV on a 95 eclipse GSX rear LSD axle. I talked to DSS and they said that almost all LSD axles came with 30 spline axles. When I took off my CV, the axle had 22 splines on it. Anybody ever seen this before? I now have to send my DSS 30...
I've read that the 2 bolts that bolt the starter plate to block, behind the flywheel, aren't necessary due to the dowels and trans bolts aligning it.Can anyone confirm this?
Ok everyone. Drilling the holes and enlarging the starter bore will not work. Just tried it and it will not allow the starter to engage properly.Just bought a new starter plate from STM
Ok, taking a closer look at this. I the hole where the starter goes through needs to be ground away a little too. I'm thinking about grinding the lip of the starter instead.
So, I just finished putting my trans in only to find out that the starter plate is wrong. The guy I bought all my parts from gave me an Auto starter plate instead of a manual starter plate. All of the holes lined up perfectly except for the top starter bolt. Can I simply drill the starter...
I'm dealing with the same problem right now. You should look for my post because some other members posted some extremely useful information on there.I'm just going to pull my trans, get a my TC checked and have Zim rebuild the whole thing so I don't have to worry about it anymore.You...
Anybody have anymore input on this. I'm about to pull the trans. I found a member with a similar problem http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/445303-auto-trans-has-reverse-but-not-drive-forward-gears.html . Hopefully it's just the converter.
Well I just checked the fluid and it was low. I really hate reading these dipsticks but I'm sure I read it right. I ended up putting I'm roughly 3.5 quarts to get it to cover the dipstick.I'm still having the same problem though. This trans was rebuilt 2 years ago with an IPT kit. It has...
Hey,
Today, a buddy and I went on a tuning run around town. When we got back to my house, we turned the car off for a bit. I had to move it further up my driveway, so I started her back up and put her in drive. There was a slight feeling on engagement but it just would not move. It inched a...
Hey guys,I relocated my battery to trunk and I've had the power cut on me 2 times now. I ran 0 gauge Cadance wires in the following order.battery positive > 150 amp circuit breaker > harness and starter. What's happening is that suddenly the long wire from the breaker to the harness and...
I tested again tonight using different crank angles and I'm still not able to build any pressure whatsoever.Just realized I used a 2g intake manifold gasket that I bought a while ago, before I decided to use a 1g head. Soooo, I put the wrong intake manifold gasket on lol. Fml. I'll keep this...
So did you try turning the crank? I'm having the same problem, but its midterms and havent found time to get back into the garage. But, I'm having the same exact problem. Once I figure out whats going on with mine I'll let you know. Some say TDC is the best or worst spot, I'm just going to...
So I tried to start my car today after putting it back together. I had put a 1g head on it and just cleaned up the engine bay. It will start but won't idle. I have to play with the throttle to keep it alive.I did a boost leak test and the system holds no pressure. I then tested from...
My car is now cranking but not turning over. It sounds really close to, but not quite.I have a 1g head in my 2g and I realized that I have a 1g temp sensor in my thermo housing. Is is completely necessary to have a 2g temp sensor in there?
Please help me out here guys.I just finished my auto 2g. When I turn the key to the accessory position I can here the fuel pump kick on, along with a loud clicking from some relays located on on the passenger side. I think they are the fuel pump relays. It will do this 3 times and then stop...
That's what I would do. If you have no overheating problems, maybe the exaust is blocked. You say the smell is plasticy? At one time a grocery bag had found its way to my exaust and melted to the pipe. Check real well. But, yes I would pull it and give a good look over.
I think you're right. I hooked up my IPT external cooler so that the barb towrds the firewall was on the top port of the cooler. I really don't think the direction matters though. If the smoke smells sweet like syrup, its coolant. It could have spilled on your downpipe, dripped down to...
Thanks. I don't have A/C but I was planning on jumping the fan together so that when the engine cooling fan kicks on, so does the AC fan. I've heard these fans can work if setup right, but I'm not going to doubt that I'm going to need something more legit in the future.I'll switch the...
So I cannot fit a slim fan on the drivers side because of my tial wastegate and fp manifold.I plan on running a pusher/puller setup and I know I have to switch the wires in order to make the fan spin the opposite direction. My question is if I have to switch the blades around for it to...
Youll need a new tstat housing, waterpipe, lower radiator hose, intake manifold, maybe throttle body, and thats probably it. Anybody think of anything else?
Yea this is why I said it would be easier just to pull the whole setup. Everytime I take the manifold off, its a pain to line it up with the tubo, especially if with an external gate and big turbo. Get a friend to help you out by getting under the car and supporting the turbo a little, while...
The basic turbo removal:
- Unbolt your downpipe, oil return, oil feed, and coolant lines.
- unbolt the manifold and pull the whole turbo setup out.If I'm correct, the port you're talking about is on a 2g block and runs coolant. You can either change the washers on there or/and throw some...
