I am having a no start issue on my build. It started a while ago, but ran on 3 cylinders. I have tried everything and don't know what else to do to try solve this issue. Could my cams bethe problem? I bought them used and was told they were Hks 272/272 for a 2g. It is a complete 6 bolt swap...
I used the drillbit method mentioned in vfaq. But when I pull the pin out, the gap gets larger. Does this mean that I need to press the pulley harder against the timing belt before I tighten the bolt?
That is all I am asking, how to get the gap smaller.
6 bolt and 7 bolt are the same. To make the gap smaller i compress the tensioner again and press the pulley harder against the belt before tightening the tensioner pulley bolt?I understand that I am doing it without the stupid "special tool" so I am trying to get it right without that.
What should the gap be for the 6bolt? I dont have the 1g manual only the 2g. I searched but could not find. And if I need to make the gap smaller, I tighten the pulley against the belt harder than it is now correct?
Just did my timing belt again, in the Haynes manual it says that the gap should be between 3.8 and 4.5mm between the body of the tensioner and the tensioner arm. This is in the manual for the 1995-1999 eclipse. I have a 6 bolt swap so should it be different?Right now my gap sits at about...
There you go. Evo owners pay for their stuff, lots of DSMrs try not to pay for things. one reason being lots are younger, becuase young people like me can afford them. Thats why I got one in the first place, becuase It was a fast car and it was on the cheap side. I bought my first one when I was...
price of the car means a whole lot. When the cars are cheaper, alot of younger people (including me) get ahold of them. And young people have no money, and dont know the responsibility of taking care of a car properly. therefore less oil changes and maintenance etc...
This is exactly what I mean. Lots is not misinformation just a different opinion or difference deciosion. Or maybe even a different budget or HP range as what YOU are looking for. Just because you dont agree on something, doesnt mean you have to IMMEDIATLY BASH them as you just did above.You...
Im not bashing anyone, im just saying, i feel like everytime SpawnedX clues into a thread (ive read 2 in the last 2 days) It turns into a huge arguement.
I wont reply anymore becuase I dont want to get in trouble by Spawned.
Since its dying after you rev it, are you SURE your BOV isnt vented?
How did you check for boost leaks?? boost leak tester?Did you put an Adjustable fpr in? or just a new fpr? You said earlier you switched your injectors 'back' to stock.... so they werent stock before, could have a 255 fuel...
Getting a new fan. Theres 2 which im looking at, one has straight blades and the other has 's' shaped blades. neither list cfms but they are the same fan and the same price just different shaped blades.Anyone know which one pushes more air and would be the most efficient cooling device...
Yeah thats what im going to do im going to redo the timing after I get it and see if thats the problem. And if it still doesnt work, off comes the head.
looking at buying another talon, guy did the timing belt but when he turned over heard that the valves were tapping. He claims to have stopped right away and never turned it over again. Car never started. What kind of damage could have been done? Possible that if I retime it that no damage...
okay well will I be able to get that compression back if I can get it started and run it hard?compression is 121 114 122 115 starting at cylinders 1.How can I get this compression up? the motor only has about 10-15 miles on it.brand new rings and pistons
No i havent checked compression I need to borrow a compression tester. Its a brand new motor fresh build. I think it has about 13 miles on it. (on 2 or 3 cylinders before the problem was known)Do you think the fuel could have ####ed the rings?
Is there any way to get that compression back...
My car wont fire.... will only turn over. It used to run on 2 cylinders but now wont even do that.Swapped CAS
Swapped power transitor
checked for spark
bought RRE 6bolt swap harness
flipped rail upside down and all 4 injectors are firing
turned CAS 180 degrees
swapped wiring at ecu...
weather sucks here too. and its dark at 530 lol.I swapped my CAS and it did nothing.Anybody have any input on our problem? Could turning (changing the angle) the CAS help?Could it possibly be the injector clips? Or is the irrelevant? cause even if i press down on them they still wont...
Did you ever find the problem to this? Mine is also not getting fuel to cylinders 3 and 4.
These are the things I have checked/tried.
-Injector wiring on ECU, injectors ARE swapped because of 6 bolt swap so i changed the order according to the vfaq. I have checked this over 4 times and I am...
I dont think that means ## ecu is toast? Just because you switch ## injectors and runs good doesnt mean your ecu is bad....?
I switched inputs for the fire order of the injectors. Its on the vfaq page on wiring a 1g cas into a 2g.Im going to buy a new CAS and rewire that before I do...
nope I never did that... Where can I find this checkbox? I just looked for it and could not find it in link.
I did invert the signal on the ecu inputs though if that makes a difference.
I have the exact same problem and used a test light on my injectors aswell and they are all getting power. I bought my injectors used so MAYBE one of them is pooched even though they only have 5000kms on them.I am thinking CAS wiring. Im looking for a new CAS now and a wiring harness for...
Im not planning on focusing on just the width I was just curious to see what the biggest but still practical size was to put on an 8inch wide tire. I have highperformance summer tires on right now and might even drive them for the winter lol depending on how mnuch snow we get... otherwise i will...
Becuase thats what the tires are I just bought them and there were tires on them. Im gunna sell these tires and get new ones. What is the widest tire I could put on do you think?? 255s?
I want to get stainless braided fuel lines just because my afpr has the fittings for it. How do I make the other end (at the end of fuel rail, and at return line going to fuel tank) a threaded hose so I can spin the line onto it?
I think it might be in the link below which came out of my...
The only ethanol mix gas we have here... is husky. which is 94 octane. There isnt one in town and i dont plan on driving half an hour just to fill up my tank. I know the gas at coop comes from Regina. But thats all i know about it. I think I will stick with shell. We dont have any higher octane...
You keep turning the crank. It will turn a maximum of 6 times before they line up. And if its close to lining up.... but doesnt line up perfectly... than it jumped.
ALL the gas stations in town are:Esso
Shell
Canadian Tire gasbar
COOP gasbar
Petro Canada
Fasgas
Macs gasbarWhich of these fuels would be the best to run in my car. All of them are 91 octane.
I dont know 100% sure... But i would say in the fuel tank. When you pull your pump there is a floater device... which rises as you put mroe fuel in. Maybe the floating mechanism came off or just doesnt float. Pull the pump and you will see what i mean.Look on the vfaq and it shows pictures...
problem 1: dont have smaller turbo anymore
problem 2: dont even have circulating bov anymore because it was the 2g one and it was a POS and i threw it out because before i rebuilt the motor i ran a turbo xs vented. and i was going to use link for speed density so i wouldnt be able to put my...
Ya it scares me i dont wanna eff anything up. I sent my eprom into ecmlink and them doen for my fic 1000cc. other than that there is no tune on it. What are your suggestions? would it even run okay with the stock ecu and injectors along with all my other mods? (wally 255, afpr, HOLSET BIG H1C...
