Yea, calling it a mounting bracket threw me off too. I was thinking that it was a little "L" shaped thing that fit on either side of the caliper. It is not. It's basically half of the caliper and it holds the brake pads. So there's the caliper body (the part with the piston) and then theres...
Just finished upgrading my brakes. The 93-94 front calipers are the two piston front calipers that are direct bolt on. They use the same type of brake lhoses as your car (not banjo bolts). I replaced all rotors, calipers, brake lines. Here's some of the problems I had:(1) finding the...
Ok, I drove my car for a few months with a bad 14b. I'm pretty sure the seal went bad and had a lot of coaked up bearings. Eventually, the turbo froze up, quit smoking, and ran better. When I removed it, it had no shaft play or movement of anykind so there was really no worry about the...
ok, I have no idea where Binghampton is, but most major cities have tennant rights organizations to help people in situations like this. I found this website/directory of free legal services in NY www.lawhelp.org/NY/StateDirectory
I used to live in W. Palm and it is difficult to find a place to trust. I've spoken to a shop that's on Dixie Hwy 1 block south of Southern Blvd, that seems to know what they are doing. Not sure of the cost though, they put a code scanner on my car and didn't charge me anything. Also there is...
I bought a car in IL and was given temp registration that expired in 7 days, then registered car in FL. Are you sure that you can't talk to the dealer, seems like they should be able to do something for you.
I have the same problem and have been thinking of a couple of fixes. I think that I will first try to use an adheasive (3M 5200) and see if I can either clamp it down for the 24 hours to cure, or use a 2"x4" and lodge it between the passenger seat and the dash to hold it down till it cures...
+1 on getting a lawyer ASAP, you should also look into getting a continuance (postpone) your Oct 2 court date, you might be able to do this by contacting the Clerk of Court. Call a few lawyers, or see if you can find someone to recommend a lawyer.
I took mine off and didn't have a fire or anything. I stuck it back on, by using a couple of large hose clamps--all the hardware/fasteners were rusted--and it doesn't rattle.
I had a similar problem after installing new turbo. After I took my foot off the gas the engine would stay at whatever rpm it was at before releasing the gas. It wasn't my throttle cable--I could see that it was running freely. I started replacing the vaccuum hoses and the problem was solved...
what the heck, I'll give you my 2 cents on reflux. I don't have it, but i used to sell some drugs used to treat it. 1. eat smaller, more frequent meals 2. increase dose of prevacid or add a another drug like Zantac, Pepcid. 3. antacids, like Tums, may actually make the problem worse by...
I had a similar problem. After I would put the key in the igintion it would getting a buzzing sound and the car wouldn't start. If I waited for the buzzing to stop, it would then start. The sound appeared to be coming from the EFI fuel control relay and if I unplugged/plugged this, it would...
I drove my car with a blown turbo for 6 months, the car actually ran better once the turbo completly quit spinning--ie., no more smoking, etc. The turbo froze (probably coked up bearings) so there was little chance of it exploding.
