Build Update
Decided to go ahead and pull the engine due to so much filth in the bay and to replace the clutch setup.
The CVs are trash boots have been blown awhile making a mess.
Should have some warm enough days this week to get the engine bay cleaned up hopefully.
Build update getting parts together to freshen everything up and make sure she is ready for some power adders.I also got oem oil pan bolts to fix this issue for the new timing belt.
After talking with Pot from the Gvr4 forums looks like I have a old RRE Intercooler kit so I’ll be using this on the car. Got started cleaning up the engine bay last night it’s a mess.
Good to see your back making progress! I know what's it's like when you have to put things on the back burner to take care of life and all the things that come with it.
I met John today at hyper fest and talk to him for a bit super nice guy. I wasn't able to get my car there but still had a blast. Good to see a dsm kick ass!
Cleaned up the garage and got my summit aluminum wrench and vise jaws. They should make it easier to put my an fittings together. Waiting on my line an fittings to relocate my oil cooler.
So I fixed where the short route intercooler piping comes through the core support. It was cut before I bought the car I just needed to remove a lot more for proper clearance.
I have collected a few more parts to go on this week. The jay racing alternator relocation kit with the hd steel bracket is very well made and I'm impressed with the craftsmanship.
I mounted the Omni 4 bar map sensor to a spot on the back of the intake manifold out of the way. My throttle elbow is having a bung welded in for the gm iat sensor. Once I know for sure this is where I want it I'll clean it up and paint it.
Most cases if it's anything other than a downpipe with the factory style flange it has to be custom. What kind of exhaust housing is on the turbo that bolts to the manifold?
Got the injector harness separated from the o2 and coolant sensors harness.
The coolant sensor harness had a hard life and the plugs were broken and some missing. They will be rewired when all my plugs are in.
It was at this point I started to clean and install parts to make this short block into a long block. I decided to keep the balance shafts since the bottom end was factory 120k bottom end.
I have a lot done on the car and have decided to catch this thread up. I taped off the block and painted it with some wrinkle black. I think it turned out good.
I have the engine out and have been cleaning what I can. I found that my clutch may be original and my rear main seal was leaking. I need to pull the front case and inspect the oil pump.
So, It has been awhile I bought a house and another car after I lost compression on cylinder 3. I have a garage now and started tearing it apart.
I melted a spark plug and chipped a valve.
Installed a GM maf and a maft. I also installed a walboro 255 and rewired it also. Now I am looking at what to do next I have a Jmf catch can I need to plumb. I was thinking 550 injectors or something.

I went and got a compression tester and also got a fuel filter cause it looks like it has never been changed. I will perform the test and let you know what I find. I hope it's not a head gasket I just spent a good bit on a radiator and turbo bolts/ gaskets.I don't have bubbles just when...
My coolant is more water right now however when I drive the car for a good while coolant pour out of the overflow and looks strange.Then I also have a problem the power steering leaks from the upper line and I don't know how to stop it.
Plan on posting some interior pictures today just upgraded the old busted speakers and radio. It makes a long ride more enjoyable being that I drive an hour to work 5 days a week.
Here is an update changed jobs to a much better one as a heavy equipment mechanic. My radiator went so I bought a mishimoto during extremepsi's Black Friday sale for 200 shipped. I also got the proper bolts and crush washers for the turbo oil return. Many upgrades to come just bought a walboro...
There are 2 black 1g's in king mine has a big front mount what color is your gs?
