engineering type individuals needed for big brake kit idea.

Gotchya. Yea not far at all. Have to meet up sometime. My brother is selling all his old dsm stuff. Gauges, injectors, fmic. Just a bunch of nice misc stuff. We both got out of the dsm game a few years ago. Now he's got a diesel truck(go figure) LOL. And I've got my S5. I'll be a dsm'r at heart...

engineering type individuals needed for big brake kit idea.

Ahh, you posted before I got to see. Yea I'm from Wisconsin. Live in Texas now tho. The job economy here is wayyyyy better. I miss the beer n pizza joints tho haha. I'd never be able to afford this car if I was still in wisco. The plugs won't be able to come out. They will be sandwiched on both...

engineering type individuals needed for big brake kit idea.

I could do my original idea, then make another bracket that will run on the backside of the knuckle that will connect the 2 new holes, then run down to the ball joint area and connect to that. Further increasing strength. The picture with the yellow bracket drawn, just imagine that bracket...

I went from a 345mm rotor to this 365mm rotor. Not much difference. So you think I should go with the original plan. Clock the caliper down a little and plug the existing holes, then drill the new ones?
  6. duwackerTSi69

engineering type individuals needed for big brake kit idea.

I hear ya. Now think if this. Looking at the design of the ears on the knuckle, and where I'll drill my upper hole. There is allot of material that is supporting the forces of the brakes and their rotation. It'll all be getting pushed into all that material. In my pic, the green arrows drawn is...

engineering type individuals needed for big brake kit idea.

Yea the master cylinder is just fine. I can use brakes from the Audi RS5(8 piston) and it's a big upgrade so I think these cts-v calipers are going to be just fine. The holes I drill will be thru holes and not threaded.

engineering type individuals needed for big brake kit idea.

I was doing more research all night and today, and I guess all my suspension components are forged aluminum. I guess it's a very weldable material compared to cast aluminum. Here is 2 more pics I edited for another approach at this project. I could utilize the existing bottom hole on the...

I need some advice on the front control arms of my Audi S5. I know Alot of you will tell me to not do it and how unsafe it is yada yada yada. So, with that said I need some advice from the views of individuals with engineering backgrounds or maybe R&D. Here's a little bit of info on my project...

I live in Texas and I really don't wanna put a turbo in my engine bay. If I go turbo, it'll be a rear mount design. And to be honest, going turbo would be soooo much less of a pain in the butt. Fab work wise anyway. And I never got the cfm/flow results from David Dsm yet. Hx40 pro would be nasty...

    Supercharger modification

No worries man. Yea they also said back in the day the 6 bolt bottom end couldn't handle much power, but what do you know. People push them to 450-500 hp with the appropriate tuning.Anyway IV been at this all day at work, and the only problem I see is the ecu and tuning. I called a few places...

When someone spend money like that on a kit, they're buying simplicity and easy peasy no brainer install. I can find a supercharger that is equivalent in size, hack it up and modify it to work for my engine, fab the ic piping and little stuff here and there for a $1k. Or even a turbo kit. I'll...

    Supercharger modification

You think I'm gonna pay someone to install all this stuff in my car, or even fab anything? Yea right. That may be your way of doing things, but I'm more then qualified,And able to do this myself. Just not the ecu part.

    Supercharger modification

I'm not sure where your getting the 30k price range from but here is just one kit I found, and they use the factory ecu and I'm guessing with just a eprom chip and flash? I spoke with them a few months back and scoring to them, it works flawlessly with drivability issues...

I have more room bc this wasn't a bolt on swap. The body dimensions are way different like you said. I know this bc I did it to my own car when you say centrifugal sc, are you referring to the ones like a pro charger? I'm referring to the ones that bolt in place of the factory intake manifold.

I know the s4 4.2 is different in so many ways. There's a few companies out there who make a SC kit my timing belt engine. The S4 is a chain motor. And my car has the 2006 and up S line front end. I have more room between my engine and radiator then it did from the factory. My hood, that's...

Thanks, for the input, but this isn't my first rodeo lol. I'm aware of everything that's needed to be looked into just like you stated. Audi's are notorious for being picky and going into limp mode. My engine is 11:0.1 compression, so yea it's high. If done a lot of reading and research and...

Thank you. That would be super easy about the crank. I'd put a piece of bar stock in the cnc lathe and make a small program to Maine or an adapter that could be "sandwich'd with my stock pulley and existing mounting bolts. That way I could always revert to stock easy. Or. Weld on a ring to my...

4,172cc and 255 cubic inch. It's a 40 valve dohc(5 valves per cylinder) engine. I'd like to use hx40 pro, mainly bc I have one. If I remember right it flows more the the twin scroll hx35 7 blade? I'd like to keep max psi at around 7-10psi. For my engines sake lol.
  22. duwackerTSi69

    Supercharger modification

That sounds great and all, but IV got lots of sentimental value in my car. I rebuilt the engine and a lot of other things and it's a great car. You got me wanting to pull the trigger David lol. How good are you at reading compressor maps and matching them to what a certain engine needs to be a well worth it mod? Instead of going twin hx35, say just one or even a hx40 pro? I'd only want to run maybe 7-10psi max. And I'd want instant...

    Supercharger modification

Yea a Sc kit and they're price is a down payment on a house lol. Yea I thought about a rear mount turbo system and that's definitely a viable option. I'd have to do a rear mount set up bc of engine space, and I'm in Texas so it's hot here already. I'd like to use a pair of hx35's or even hy35's...

Oh I already understand it's gonna be allot of work. I'm a patient man tho so it's ok. Especially with something like this. Just look up APR sc kits for v8 Audi. This isn't dsm related, but I do wanna know if it's possible about taking a factory supercharger from a Cadillac or a Mustang and modifying the runners to mate up to a different engine? I'll tell ya one thing, it's the best of both worlds with my set up. Blingy, tried to keep it on a budget and looking to make 400awhp. The budget part didn't work out so well tho. I just installed my Perma Torque MLS HG last night on my 4g64 with 87mm bore. It fit very nicely. I cleaned the deck surface's with some rubbing alcohol and sprayed a little copper spray on the HG, and I used L19 head studs. :) Hopefully this thing seals without worries?

how to install wiseco's with eagle h beam's

I read the little card that came with the rings, but it said if your measuring in mm, then you do the mathmatical formula to find the ring gap.
