I am in the Air National Guard.....Full time. Federal technition.I supervise the machine/welding shops. And I think my Talon TSI AWD is for sale.(anyone interested in a project that requires assembly let me know)
The crank end of the rod is the same diameter but thinner on a 7 bolt. The pin enf (small end of rod) is the end that is differand diameter. You have to either hone out the pine end or hone out the piston.I will be honeing the piston to match the pin and the thickness of the crank end is...
I just picked up some 1G big rods.......but no caps came with them.My question is ....since I have to machine the rod thinner (the crank end) to match 2G (or 7 bolt) spec's can I substitue the 7 bolt rod caps?Or am I just screwed?
I was informed that the stock slip was 80/20 untill there is wheel slip. But I'll take Defiants word for it.As for Azrael's snapped axels, I belive I posted on that thread.
I know that venting to the atmosphere messes up the fuel mixture so has anyone tried to relocate the MAS closer to the throttle body so the BOV is befor the MAS (as veiwed by the air flow) in order to prevent this rather than doing it with electronic controle?
Wouldnt this make steering a problem??Also, from what I understand AWD's have an 80%-20% bias to the front untill there is slip then the diff changes the bias via the viscus coupler (LSD) to 60%40% which is still not good enough IMO.What would spooling the center diff do for my front to...
What would be best to get at least eqaul power to the rear if not rear wheel biased and not loose too much driveability?Any specific dif. I need to accomplish this?
Don't know about Milwaukee but in Madison call Badger trans.608-241-7179Tell em Gary sent ya:thumb:The rumors of the Gary discount are just that .......rumors
Under drive pully WILL NOT change the your final drive gear ratio at highway speed. Maybe you all did something else that caused the discrpincy. To change your highway speed RPM you have to either change the trans gearing or tire size. The tach is electically driven so maybe the loss in...
could not have ended any other way. Machines needed Neo to destroy Smith. That is why the ending was like that. I left wishing it had ended differantly but knew that is what needed to happen.my rateing.....3 1/2:thumb: 's
Uesd to floor it. N/A's don't have enough power to be too noticable. Then again I just got my first speeding ticket cause some guy got to me and I race him from a stop. $187 and 6 points later I learned my lesson.(cop claimed to have never seen the full size chev 4X4 extend cab that was...
^^ agree ^^I got my first speeding ticket last friday cause some guy was messing with me.......$187 and 6 points later I'm beating my head against a rock saying "Well that was dumb" (Oh and the cop "Never saw" the full size Chev 4X4 extend cab in the left lane matching my speed).....24 over...
Don't know about crank walk but I know that its not uncommon for a crank sensor to go out.fingers are crossed that you don't have crank walk. (nothing a set of main and rod bearings cant cure.)
The swap is probably easyer than going turbo with a N/A.no the ECU will not work and you will have to mess with the harness as the turbos have more sensors. I'd swap the blocks and keep the turbo. (you will need differant pistons on the N/A)
These tubes do not come out easy. most of the time you have to pull and wiggle the damn thing for 10 minutes befor you see any progress. I wouldn't give up on one yank.G/L
I spent what seemed like 3 hours at VFAQ.com and I think I have it figured outCan I take my stock 14b and chnge the compressor side blade to the 16g blade to get the conversion done. (yes I would rebuild the whole thing at the same time)Does this sound right?
The fuel pump on my laser was in between bad and not functioning for 6 months befor I figured it out.Had to crank the engine 20-30 seconds to get it to start. But it ran.....like crap but it ran. When I pulled it out and hooked it to power to check it.....IT WORKED.
just wouldn't build...
Well we would have been rained out anyway. I went to a local bar for a costume contest. The red head and I won 3rd place out of 4 bars.Had a good time.:thumb:
Laser is fixed. New flywheel did the trick. If I have to take it appart again it will get an ACT2100. I think the pressure plate is under rated for this car. I think it slips more than it should at take off. I have to let up so the clutch will not slip too much.No power launches for the...
There is a relay there above the ECU I forget what it is for. I found them at the bone yard. $5 No one goes to the bone yard for relays:DI tried swapping that relay when I had these problems then went ahead and changed the MAS cause the kid that had it befor me hacked it the wrong way.
LMAOIf you have your engine maxed out in its potential power you MAY have a minimal gain with one. I'd save my $ and buy a part that makes a diffeance and has less theory to its HP gain.
Well Defiant seems to be haveing a bad day.....or just tired of saying.........."Do a search"To answer your question....Yes and yes.....also do a search and you will find a bunch of info.
No. I think the one you want is the second of the 2 (not to mention the smaller) lines that hook to the FPR The large one as you have dicovered is th efuel retuen the smaller one at the end of the FPR body is the vacume line to the intake. Also this line runns directly from the FPR to the...
The turn radius is something you really can't do much about. It is determined by the steering componants and yu tire width. You could go with narrower wheels and then decrese the length of the steering arm to tighten up the radius and tighten the feel. But I don't know why you would. It would...
TPS would not cause your max boost indication on start up.It may affect start up howerver. If it shows that the throttle is at WOT then the computer may adjust the fuel for that.(rich to the point of flood) I am not to sure about the start up circut though.
Rim manufacturers have to meet certain DOT specifications for safety reasons.Aluminum is more prone to damage from road hazards than steel or alloy wheelsHope that helps some.As for a part specific report, there are so many differant rims out there you maight find 1 person on this...
If they are the look you want and the price you are willing to pay then I would say yes they are good. Now if you want to be more specific.....like are these good for something in particular...then we would have to re-evaluate the situation.IMO rims are rims If I like them then they are good...
