    So looking at your mod list. What kind of harmonic balancer do you have? fluid dampner Or a solid one? But I'd keep the valves, lifters, cams stock. Throw some regular arp headstuds and some bc0100s valve springs.

    Like I said in post #4 get the head checked. There is absolutely no reason to take it all apart and not take it to a machine shop to get pressure checked, ect. They will tell you if it can be saved or not.

    So did you replace the head gasket when you bought the car? And also did you get the head checked out when you did? Because you should always get it checked out so you don't have to do the job twice.

    Why bother doing a 6 bolt swap? To much work i think personally when there's been plenty of success with a 7 bolt. Just find a good 7 bolt and if you're super concerned find a 98-99 engine/block.

    Its best and cheaper just to find a plating company near you. I'm getting half of a 5 gallon bucket of bolts done for 85$. Thats cleaned and zinced.

    Sick build man I got a bucket of bolts I want to clean up and get zinc coated as well but haven't found any one local yet. How many cans did you use to do the engine bay? Id like to do my 2g like a guy on youtube is building his gtr. Dont see many clean dsms. Keep up the sick work dude!

    Like i said sounds like a cam angle sensor. Theyre pretty cheap at autozone go get one and try it. If it doesnt fix it then return it.

    Probably the cam shaft sensor. My old gst did this as well, it eventually got to the point where after you turn it off and try to start it back up it would run for a few second then shut off.

    Yeah you gotta rewire some of the harness to work in a manual. I personally wouldnt go that route. But the ecu you can use since theyre all the same between auto and manual.

    @Widgmaster a engine can suck in brake fluid. I had diaged a car that came in last week that was stalling and eating brake fluid like no tomorrow. The seal on the brake master was really bad and filling up the booster with fluid. But I will say I've never seen white smoke from brake fluid.

    The same harness will work. But for how cheap the turbo harness is id just buy a good used turbo harness. Like for an example my old daily was a gst shell with a 4g64 motor. Didnt have to change any wiring.

    I would just run high impedence injectors so you wont have to worry about wiring the resistor box into it. So then you just have the knock sensor to wire in. And yeah flashing is cheaper but theres no support that I've seen for it in years.

    @DSM_delinquency Why not use the turbo ecu? Its easy to install and then you can have knock protection. Plus then you can get ecmlink installed.

    yeah I guess ill have to get some new plugs and read them this weekend. Because in one log with the same timing, afr and everything its looks pretty good with 0 knock and the other has 1.8-2.5 halfway through the whole thing. But in the morning I'll pull some timing and see what it does.

    so here is a new log I've been working on. it seems to not like 11.0 afr since the knock sensor is picking it up. so I may try to turn it down to 10.8 target? this weekend I'm going to try to add more grounds to the engine, hopefully that will solve the jagged data I've been getting.

    I wouldnt worry about changing the head. I daily drove a stock 4g64 with a 16g on 15lbs for years with no issue. This is all the stock turbo stuff I used from a 2g- gst ecu,maf,injectors,fpr,exhaust manifold and o2 housing. With a ebay catback, downpipe and fmic. I wish I never got rid of it...

    I agree with the maintenance part, that most would survive a longer time. But I have been with mitsubishi as a tech for 6 years now and none of them had a hitch that came to me with trans issues. I have seen to many issues with the chain belt grenading and the pumps giving out on low mile units...
