Haven't sold the car yet, been selling a few parts off of it. Mostly to customer at this point. Soon I'll start listing stuff I have left. Debating on selling the roller. Or parting it completely. . If I part it, I'm not sure what to do with the shell..
Kinda of an "end of an ERA" for me personally. Although we continue to work on, and improve the 4G63 platform, its going to be strange not having this car anymore. Here is the past 3 years, in 5 minutes.
So, Yet again I haven't update this in some time. The last I posted I still had the FP manifold on the setup. I wasn't able to get the combo spooled on the converter using the FP manifold. For testing purposes we thought we would try my old header to see if that would help. Turned out it...
Hey everyone! It has been awhile since I've posted on here. Thought I'd take a sec and post some of our recent results. We have had out 1G out with the FP black, and have been making a handful of low boost passes while bracket racing. First time we turned it up we broke the FP Black record...
Sorry I haven't been keeping up on this as I usually do. car is running and driving, put a around 50 miles on it. I have been having issue finding and IAT solution that will live in the high temps of this setup (no-Intercooler) and that has me behind by a couple weeks, and is really beginning...
Thought the people not following my build thread might like this.
Aluminum transition I'm trying, slip fit W/ T-bolt clamp:

Just have to add an O2 bung and its finished. I'm slight;y...
I finally had time to finish the exhaust up. Just have to add an O2 bung and some clamps, then I can mount my wring board and start running wires.
No V-band, slip fit with a T-bolt clamp. Something I thought I'd try.
Spent alot of time tucking this thing up in there.
For sure man. I'm trying to not feel rushed, but its hard with the bracket season starting this Saturday. Oh well I guess
Yeah, I'm excited to use it! we have tuned 1 other car with it, and i was to busy doing machine work to have my hands in it. should be fun!
Here are some more updates;
All the charge piping is finished and the catch can as well.
Started on the exhaust
Started on the wiring
I'm really wishing I had more time to work on this!! its coming along though.
Thanks man! I got the display dash, couldn't afford the logging dash:( but I can log all the engine vitals and whatever else I want to add for testing as well. maybe down the road I'll upgrade. Nice to see you bought a Haltech setup, great system!
My 2014 Turbo setup showed up! Thanks to...
Thought I'd take a few minutes and update everyone following this.
How the car sat right after shootout
Fixed this gasket and a boost leak at the compressor outlet (Both happened before shootout), and made a few dyno passes
Car made 546whp at 38psi, was 509 @ 41psi with the...
I'm making 15psi at 3500 on my lower limiter. Thats at 10:1 afr and 0* timing. makes 20+ at 4100. Its an auto car so it would be hard to compare to a stick. Plus 11.5:1 and methanol, no intercooler. So the setup is pretty specific.
Well if it so damn easy then u guys should do it.. Shoot just go to town with a plasma cutter on an auto car right? That's all takes.. Buy some used slicks... Must be so easy that's why everyone does it right? Oh wait... You guys are real damn fast sitting behind your desk... Talk is cheap guys..
So your first post was to say that it wasn't our tuning ability that made the car fast, and it was because it was a tin can. We tell you the car is heavy and now you say we acted like we just threw something together and it was fast? I have never said it was easy, thats where our experience in...
This is not a re-stall. I'm not sure what he uses from the OEM converter other than the case and the diode, but i know its not much. he has his own stators cast, and changes fin angles and what not.. my knowledge on converters is limited. I asked him what all he changed and he rattle off a...
It cruises very well. Damn near just like OEM did. Trans temp stays low, drive away from a stop just like normal. Only difference I've noticed is while passing or accelerating moderately. I've used a few dozen converters over the years, Coan PTC etc. etc. I'm very impressed with this one.
Thats because its graphed by MPH rather than RPM. Basically it had higher rpm at the same mph with the same torque. Not sure why I did that. I'll pull the graph up thats by rpm. I believe the wheel spin made the spike part of the graph have multiple data points so that part of the graph is screwy.
I'm getting to around 4200 rpm with this converter and 1gb big brakes. Could more than likley reach a higher rpm, i havent treid. Not much more, maybe 4500. The spikes were from wheel spin. I paid 1200 for this converter and he had it to me in a week.
Tossed the car on the dyno tonight to make a test pass before going to the track tomorrow. Hadn't ran it on the dyno since I had changed the converter. These numbers are not weather corrected. My exhaust blows towards the weather station and skews the WC numbers.
Hear lots of people...
Just glancing through this and thought i'd toss some thoughts/info out there.
Shane: As far as your knock goes, I'd leave the AFRs a bit rich and play with timing until you see the annealing point on the plug where you want it.. Also I hope your running a non-projected tip plug, a projected...
Its the cam shaft that will cause issues. My 294HLs never had both the intake and exhaust valves closed on one hole at any time it seems lol... I just put all the air to it and listened for leaks the best I could.
I have 2 Line locks off the master cylinder ran to a button. The button also runs the launch limiter in my Dynatech. I prestage on the limiter in DSMLink, and its so inconsistent that I change to the limiter on the dynatech when I stage. This also allows me to pre-stage at a lower rpm and...
10.3 is moving in the air we had! I'll send you a pm about the other charger.
yeah I need to do that. I'm taking the next couple weeks away from the car to spend some time with my girl. Has been alot of late nights getting things around for shootout.
