I used a miller dynasty 200 TIG machine, I think it was 3/32 tungston, red band (2% something). This project has been sidelined due to not knowing how exactly to make a really good front suspension. Since i am in engineering school i am going to wait until i get to the suspension class until i...

another thing that is intresting...for those RWD 4g63 folks... flipping the turbo around so it faces forward. The compressor outlet would point right to the exhaust manifold. Not exactly what I want. Also the pressurized oil feed and oil drain would be at a not so optimal angle. Knowing that...

before you put the timing belt on spin the oil pump pulley over with a drill. No fancy primer needed, just a drill with a socket adapter in it. Works great I think.

-AN fitting size 1990 oil filter housing

Yes you have the right fittings. I just put my system together. It went together great. All I could say is get extra hose and get an assortment of different angled fittings. I ended up playing with the hose routing a little and having the extra fittings allowed me to play with the layout...

    1G FWD Transmission problem

I dont think my car ever had that bolt. The entire car is like a maze. I got it for 250 bucks still running, but as I dug deeper into it I found many half ass jobs were done to it. From the skateboard bearings in the shifters to a balance shaft that was cut for a cheap stubby shaft. I managed to...

    Cometic Head Gasket?

I just rebuilt my engine and I used a cometic H.G. Just from holding it in my hands it really looks like a quality piece. You have to be very carful putting it on because there are rivets that hold together the different layers of the gasket. There is only one right way to put it on as far as I...

    1G FWD Transmission problem

Update:Jack, thanks for all the really good info. I ended up pulling the trans back out and inspecting the hole. There was some junk in the threads, looked like metal shavings. Blew it out with an air gun and ran the bolt in and out a few times with cutting oil. Worked great. Can botton...

    1G FWD Transmission problem

Does that peticular bolt have a slight taper on the end of it? Some bolts can stand up straight on the threaded side, where as some I have seen look to almost have a cone shape on the end. Not shure if it matters?I know I tried to put a M8 bolt in last night after doing a search on the...

    Head casting question

there is just alot of gunk on the outside of it. Both heads look fine to me. However I am intrested to know if they are interchangable. I was going to run the stock head for the time being, then build a nice head as funds become available. I am still thinking of what parts to put in it...
