Honestly, I can't wait to start tearing into it. The main reason I've decided to go with the 4g63 swap is because I just so happen to have a 4g63 and a transmission laying around. And the biggest push has been the fact that I just so happened to destroy my current transmission (most likely input...

If your dash harness doesn't have the plug for the mirror switch, you'll need to either wire in the plug (wiring NIGHTMARE!!) or replace the dash harness with one that has the plugs for it.
If your doors already have the plugs, you should be good there, if not, replace them too.
Yeah, I've pretty much have this on the back burner for now. Looking at possibly swapping in a 4g63 in the near future. I have the long block and turbo already. :hellyeah::hellyeah:
So, I'm going forward with the plan to swap the SOHC head for a DOHC head. I picked up a head from a buddy of mine. I was aware that the engine jumped time, so a rebuild was planned for. I finally got around to fiddling with the head.
I pulled the cams, rockers and lifters. I am currently leak...
Final Update.
Looks like I've solved this with y'alls help. I haven't had to swap a fuse since pulling that alarm system and swapping a few bulbs. Thank you to everyone who responded, I appreciate the help.
I know one of the previous owners had installed aftermarket fogs and a random toggle switch for them. Hacked up the fog light plug a bit for that one, I know that for sure. I'm honestly not sure what else may have been done under there. I did recently completely remove an aftermarket security...
No worries. I'm starting to think they either hid it really well, or this interior harness just doesn't have it... Which doesn't make sense to me since the doors are wired for it. :idontknow:
Not that I could tell right off hand. I know the fog light plug is there, but I haven't been able to locate the plug for the mirrors. I've pulled the lower dash cover off and looked, I've crawled under the dash and looked. No idea if it is there or not. I would figure it is, seeing as the doors...
I am again asking for your knowledge.
So, I recently picked up a pair of electric mirrors for my 2G Spyder, as I found the plug in harnesses in the doors. However, I have been unable to locate the plug for the control switch. I've gone as far as removing the lower part of the dash, crawling up...
An update for any of you still following this thread. After removing the aftermarket security system and changing the rear passenger bulbs, I have not yet experienced any blinker fuses burning up. By now, I would have changed the damn thing at least three times. Its looking good so far.
Update: I was able to get my wiring in order before having to go to work last night. The aftermarket alarm system has been removed completely as far as I can tell, harness and all.
I had no cases of popped blinker fuses on my way to work or back home, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed...
I haven't done anything but replace the shifter with a short throw after discovering one of the previous owners just hacked the stock shifter in half, ground down the shaft some and epoxied a shift knob to it.
It was doing this the day I bought it. Before that, it had aftermarket fog lights...
Update, I replaced the bulbs that had flattened contacts. Unfortunately, on my way to work, the fuse blew again. I'll try replacing the others when I get off work.
Alright, so I checked all of the bulbs and sockets and didn't find any corrosion that couldn't be wiped off with my finger, but I did find two bulbs with flattened contacts on the driver side.
Alright guys, I need a bit of help.
So, I recently got my hands on a 1998 Eclipse Spyder GS, and I've gone through at least 20 10a fuses for the turn signals in the past two months. Seriously, you should see my passenger floor board. It happens randomly. I could drive with one fuse for two...
