Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted last, but I am wondering what vehicles suspention will be comparable with my 1987 colt vista 4x4, I'm looking to lower it a good 1.5" to 2.5" depending on set ups. Lowering Springs preferred. I have a set of stock 2ga eclipse springs and I've been...
Hopefully they won't rub with it lowered, that would really make me sad.. All I drive here are canyon river roads and trust me, I don't corner lightly. I really don't want to go back to my American racing avengers.
Lookin good with stock height, I think im really going to like the way it turns out.
Hopefully is doesn't surprise me and rub all the time or during hard cornering (cornering is really all I care about..)
I'm definitely not trying to stretch the tires, just a thought. (might go to 17x9.5 for that) im looking at 225/40r18 for these rims and hoping they don't rub too much.
Question is, will i get better handling or anything from wider/larger/more offset rims?
Anyone rocking 18x7.5 on their 2Ga? Picked up a set of MSR 085 rims last summer and im thinking of pulling the trigger on tires.
Also, will stretching tires affect handling in any way? My 2GA is dropped 2" front and rear, will this produce rubbing?Sorry for all the questions, i got the...
it looks like my 3 lugnuts were loose, on that side i had a honda friend put the wheel on..could that cause the noise? drove the car today and it only did it on the passenger side. took off the wheel, snapped another stud (What are these things made of, aluminum??) and saw that the wheel had...
Used an air gun to tighten the nut at the top of the assembly, other than that i used a socket wrench and probably overtightened everything. Would the joints fail after only about 6 miles of driving? i heard the clunk after about 100ft and it got way worse when going around corners.
I put the springs on just like the stock ones came off, could it be a loose swaybar? Stupid question, but what does the stabilizer look like?
also, i dont plan on running 3 lugs at all, one stripped while coming off and a friend busted one clean off, ill go get new studs/lugs tomorrow.
Sorry if...
Lowered my 96 RS with Megan Racing springs, stock struts and all, there is a clunking/banging noise coming from the passenger side wheel area (i am running 3 lugnuts on that side, yes, stupid i know..) i have tightened the lugnuts to factory spec and there is still a noise. Would this be...
Well first off, how do i get the strut assembly off? I worked on it for 3 hours and still didnt have any luck. I was planning on putting Megan Racing lowering springs on it but ive come to the conclusion that i may just cut my damn springs ("Shops" around here want $500-$700 to put on lowering...
Now it starts and idlesfor a bit until it dies, it will not rev above 2k..my timing light picked up a mark on the main crankshaft pully and it seems I need to move the mark counterclockwise. Any advice?
nothing is cracked, its a brand new clip and handle from autozone and i stick the key in, try to turn to unlock but is does not move and it has almost bent my key. Should i just replace it? and how would i go about doing that?
So, this may be answered somewhere else but, my exterior door lock keeps falling in, no matter how tight i get the clip..ive taken it to a shop 2 times for it falling in the lock is also hard to turn sometimes, not all the time..just sometimes. Ive tried to lubricate it and it fails..any advice...
Well i thought i had it fixed (timing belt gave way and new belts were put on) but now it will not start once again, checked timing belt and it is timed correctly and it almost starts, but it will not start. is there any sensor that could be keeping it from starting?
I took it to an "import shop" and they usually work on Honda, Volkswagen, Volvo, ect. they misdiagnosed my car about 5 times for various problems (no problem was there..i guarantee they just wanted my money) so i'm taking it in tomorrow and trying to figure out what they did (or didn't do)
Hello, i have a 1996 eclipse RS..i took it in for a timing belt (it is my daily driver so i could not afford to take time to do it myself) and after it was done, it is accelerating better but in 5th it tops out at about 80mph. I have taken the car to 120mph before they did the timing belt...
Ill try everything tomorrow, and i dont think it could be an alternator because it was brand new when i bought it. My friend also said it could be an ECU, so ill check that tomorrow too.
i checked the fuel pump the day after it happened, it was working fine. but one thing..before it quit it would REALLY have trouble starting (would try for a while then start on the 3rd-4th try)i have taken a picture of it that will be under this of the engine as it sits right now.
Ill test it today, when the car died i did check for spark but not fuel and it was getting spark. Ive checked all wires in the engine compartment and none are chewed or show signs of wear.
Greatly appreciated, thank you!IT is MPI, no carb. i did not do a compression test before i tore it down, it was kind of a "in the moment" choice. so if I checked the MPI relay, what should i look for/ expect to see?
The car has 77,683 original miles, ive started to put the engine back together today and im about 3/4 finished but i do have a timing belt on hand. in the engine compartment it has it stamped Engine:G63B. Is the G63B the SOHC 4g63? also, to get it back on the road, what do you recommend doing?
So i picked up this 87 colt vista 4x4 for 1k, really nice inside and almost flawless on the outside. Problem is, after a month of so of driving it, it shut down on me going about 45 mph (no hesitation, no spudder no nothing, just stopped) and after i tried to start it again, it seemed like all...
