Starting the teardown process for the off-season. Got the car jacked up and starting going over things. Cleaned the wheels, took a look at some suspension bits. Found some broken things as can be expected. Splitter mount is broken. Splitter rod is broken. Got some rub on some suspension parts...
For sale are my V1 FIBA Motorsports front upper control arms for 2G DSMs. These control arms are absolutely spectacular if you’re looking to get proper camber correction and roll center correction out of your 2G. They’ve supported my car to a multiple class wins and a regional championship in...
To be clear, this a time attack car. It turns 4ish laps a session and drives back to it’s paddock spot. The motor is definitely tired. Built it in ‘18. Just did a compression test when I pulled these plugs and compression in 3 was a bit lower than the rest, but not by much. And that plug you...
I’m not the best at reading plugs. What do these say to any of you that know what they’re looking atPics are in order from Cyl 1-4
Not even going to attempt to say what I think. Would like other peoples impressions. These were freshly installed prior to Circuit Legends at Lime Rock. NGK...

I was on a podcast a couple weeks ago. It was a really good time. We discussed DSM stuff and just random racing stuff. Give a listen!https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-back-seat-drivers/id1652652805?i=1000623156810
This site has meant so much to me since I joined a Really long time ago lol. Even the tuners trip to a rain soaked Myrtle beach lives rent free in my memory. Thank you for all you do to keep the site alive and the information flowing! Let’s keep it going another 20+ years!!!
GridLife Circuit Legends at Lime Rock:What a weekend. This is going to be a long post for sure. So grab a snack LOL.Got to Lime Rock Thursday evening. Had to wait about an hour to get in cause it was just packed. Unloaded, and got to work. Had to do an oil change and replace a brake hose...
The system I saw pulled fluid from below the fill port, and returned the cooled oil to the case by way of a sprayer system that sprayed the returning oil on to the gears. A really trick setup.
No cooling setup on the trans yet. Hopefully will build something this winter. I’m running a 450 in the stock tank and surge tank. And I’m running an under drive pulley on the water pump pulley.
Awesome!! Great run!! Yeah I really wanted to make that event, but with GridLife Lime Rock right around the corner, it would’ve been too tight with family responsibilities and the such. Definitely gotta catch up soon. I love Palmer. Great track. So much fun. You definitely have a 48 or a 47 in...
Alright. Recap of GridLife New Jersey. We arrived Friday evening, unloaded and started getting set up for the weekend. We tried to do some vinyl on the car but it failed. A nice low key evening. Saturday morning was the same old. Drivers meeting, trying to eat something through the nerves. Set...
That’s awesome. These cars are super simple. As far as engine wiring is concerned. When I did my harness, I used all the same wiring from the stock harness and and color coding to add simplicity. These jobs are all in the prep work. I have pages of info and my hand written pinouts since I did a...
NJMP next weekend. Car is pretty much ready to go. But….got a new toe rig! Please welcome my new to me, 2019 GMC Yukon! It’s so nice! Definitely the nicest vehicle I’ve ever owned!! Now I can tow with AC and comfort. And the tow package for this thing is serious. Max tow is like 6200 pounds, so...
That’s what I really liked about the nine lives mount. They added bracing to the rear facing side (the side where the “Mitsubishi” and “GSX” decals go). Definitely add some bracing underneath. I added some aluminum angle to back up the mounts.
Dyno session the other day. Went well. We weren’t looking for numbers, but more so to try and figure out the throttling issue we had at the Glen. Ken at Black Sheep Tuning was linked in, remote tuning the car and I think we got it figured out. After a several pulls with changes, we were able to...
Going to work on getting the car fired up today, and possibly on the trailer so when we get back from vacation, the car will be ready to go to the dyno. But’s coming along. Gotta change the oil, finish the wiring for the surge tank and tighten up the clamps for the charge pipe. Don’t see why I...
Surge tank is almost fully plumbed. Just need to do the tank side stuff and electrical and the surge tank will be done. Then it’s off to the dyno on the 24th. Not looking to make a ton more power, just want to make as much reliable power as possible. Dial back the torque a bit to keep the trans...
So far just the 50-75% has been ok. Haven’t driven it yet so if I need to run the controller, I will. But just turning the wheel in the garage has been awesome.
Alright. Got some things done over the weekend. Volvo EPS setup is in and working. I absolutely love it. I know a lot of people go prius EPS, but I just wanted something super easy to install and have working. Yes it still uses fluid. But it works great. Especially helpful if we have to push the...
Not too much progress over the long weekend. Had a lot of family obligations to attend to, so hopefully getting back to the car today after work. Have to mount the circuit breaker for the EPS, and go full bore into mounting the surge tank and wrapping up the fuel system upgrades. Very excited to...
Anyone know someone on the east coast that can rebuild a Legnum VR4 auto trans? I’m assuming it’s the same as the 3KGT/Stealth transmission, but a buddies Legnum trans died and needs a rebuild. Thanks in advance.
Thank you sir!! The parts are as glorious as always. Going to try and find this boost leak, if there is one, today and try and get the car on the ground
Radium surge tank has arrived, as well as Bobbys sway bar kit, a new front bumper and the EPS pump. Scheduled a dyno session on June 24th to get the car squared away with a tune. A couple more bits are inbound as well. Really need to nail down the EPS first though so the car is at least...
