Hey guys!
I have some parts that came off of my old 1g that are just laying around. They came off a running 90 eagle talon tsi awd. They have about 3000 Kms on them.
Fidanza v2 clutch about 75% material on the puck. Some light cracks on the pads but I never had problems with the clutch. Some...
Hey guys,
I'm having an issue finding a noise that's starting to to drive me crazy. The noise is coming from the timing belt area. It's kind of a supercharger whine. I found some write ups about the same sound on 90's. Apparently it's due to straight cut gears in the oil pump.
Unfortunately I...
No reason in particular. It's already installed. Just was hoping to keep everything as is if it just meant running one wire. Is there any added benefit to simulating it as the o2 sensor in narrowband.
Hey thanks for the replies guys. Yes it is a 1g. So because my egr sensor is not in use I can run my white wire to pin 15 and input it to log my wideband?
Hey guys,
I've searched quite a bit and haven't found any thing that really answers my question. Either that or I'm not understanding it fully. I want to be able to log my aem wideband through ecmlink. But I don't want my wideband to replace or simulate my factory o2 sensor. Do I just splice the...
Ahhh I see your last paragraph makes sense now. And thanks for the step by step gst with psi. I'm kind of doubting the cams were degreed when I had it built. Is it possible to degree them with the engine in the car or is it just too tight?
Thanks for the reply guys. so hypothetically speaking I have Manley pistons and eagle rods, 280 bc cams and their valves retainers etc, if I was to check valve clearance on a stand with clay, their would be a possibility that if a camshaft was degreed 1 in the advance direction that it could...
Hey guys. I'm looking at adjusting my cam gears a little. Cams were installed straight up at 0 tdc on the crank. Am I safe to adjust the cam gears 2^ retard or advance without a degreeing wheel on the crank. I've done some research and from what I understand they can be adjusted on the gears a...
Hey guys!
I'm having difficulty trying to piece together my cruise control box.... I've searched for a couple of hours and I'm sorry if this has been answered before but, I have no idea how these brackets go on the cruise control box.
Any help is appreciated.Car is a 1990 eagle talon TSI AWD
Hey guys! Just looked for an hour trying to find a clear pic of where the cas plug connects to. I just installed the motor and can't find where it is in the harness. Any info would be great and pictures appreciated !!! Car is 90 talon tsi awd Thanks
Have you sprayed in the engine bay with a pressure washer quite a bit? It would bizarre for any water to find its way in there without a direct source no coolant leak I know of could leak it's way into the tranny.
I have used it and haven't found much of a change in water temps and I have logs before and after. I have gotten better results with a 50/50 mix plus water wetter from redline.
:talon::talon:Hey guys ! I'm from Alberta Canada and have been on here for a little while but never got around to introducing myself. My names Travis and I have had my talon for 7 years. The talon has been in my family since new though. My dad had bought it in 91 and passed it onto my brother...
X5 on what everybody else is saying. The gear grinding is probably a synchro issue, unless your trying to shift at higher Rpms right when you turn the car on, slow moderate shifts shouldn't have any grinds on cold fluid. Do you know the condition of the fluid ?
Trans fluid makes a huge...
Can you see where exactly that line goes to? It's tough to say what it's used for but I can say from swapping all my lines to an fittings I never came across a peice with a t fitting. Have you tried capping it and seeing how the car reacts.
For sure! Better to have a set path before pulling the trigger. This is a helpful path to follow

It's a good setup and everything bolts together. But of course your cat is going to be what's gonna hold back your exhaust. Considering its older and probably clogged from years of exhaust being ran through it.
Don't count out a bad vacuum leak. It's better to cross out the basics before venturing down another path. But from the way you describe it sounds like something more mechanical than electronics as the problem goes away above 3.5k. Rule out the basics first! Good luck!
+1 on everything jakk 220 said. What kind of tuner are you using for your setup. By the way you describe the smoke and loss of oil it sounds like your burning oil from somewhere. Best bet is to do a leak down test as jakk 220 said and find out the condition of the block and head.
Also give the...
Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of the bolts that hold the front shock to the knuckle. I need the length and width if possible. It's for a 1g tsi awd
Thanks !
I'm not entirely sure if I have my sway bar in correctly or not. I took it out of my subframe 6 months ago and forgot to take a picture for reference. It seems to fit correctly and connect to the control arms fine but want to be 100% sure. I'm worried about the way the sway bar is positioned...
It's not terrible lol it's not fun either. I take the battery and battery tray out and the windshield washer reservoirs to gain access and some room. Depending on how rusty they might be it could put up a fight. Just take your time. Some penetrating fluid helps. DONT use a torch :nono: There's a...
http://www.amazon.com/CRC-05078-Throttle-Air-Intake-Cleaner/dp/B000M8PYO2I like the crc stuff but I'm sure all of its the same. Try to stick with throttle body cleaner I'm not sure if carb cleaner is the same or if it's hard on the rubber seals in our throttle bodies but it's safer to stay...
There is a tool ! Kind of looks like a compression tester but with different fittings and drain hose. They are not fun to change but since our cars are getting older there could be a build up of sediment in there. I'm pretty sure it is your fuel pump but I would definitely recommend the fuel...
It sounds like fuel pump to me. Anyway you can check the pressure at the fuel rail to see if there is a drop off? My 96 esi had these same problems before I replaced the fuel pump and that was the problem. Ran fine afterwards. Just some other things to try before replacing the pump. Are the...
Hey guys,
I'm replacing my subframe bushing on my 1990 talon awd. I'm going to be going with the ES kit but it only shows 4 bushings when it looks like I have 6. 4 bushings on the rear of the subframe ( by the firewall ), and 2 at the front by the rad support. Can someone tell me if the kit...
