From who? So far, mostly everything is $1.5k.
Even all the craigslist adds here in the Puget sound is ridiculous. Not what they were back in the 2000’s.
Have you ever ran across this before? This is the very back of the compressor wheel on my FP 18g SL2.It looks like someone just took a grinding wheel to it without any kind of logical intent.Btw, this wheel weights the same as the cast 20g. 70 grains.
Here is the CHRA that wheel came...
I’d do what Pauleyman suggest. I was there with a 2g head not long ago. I checked for flatness in accordance with the manual, it was out of spec. I took a decent 1g head and had it worked. Spent $400 for deck, clean, valve job/grind, new seals, etc.
I wouldn’t skimp on something like this...
So I see that what I posted here was wrong. My apologies. As I mentioned earlier, it has been almost 10 years since I have been doing this. For the lower nipple on the 1g(dodge garage/Gus mod) you want a pre throttle body pressure source.I am actually looking at putting a mbc set at...
So here is a funny thing I went through that I just could not find the answers for and figure out (for a long time).I also verified air, fuel and spark. Still no starting.Well, one day I decided to change my global settings (330 deadtime and -61 to -45).It started right up. I have...
Man, I never thought this would happen. I remember when I first broke my door handle in 04’ and could not understand how it broke.I am very grateful to see members of the DSM community that are still pushing forward.
Thank you!
Derps... so, I just thought about my question and am wondering if maybe you hook up that lower nipple to your intake pipe like you would a catch can. Would that make any sense?
If you did your job correctly this is how the valve should look like- now pressure from the upper intercooler line cannot reach the lower port in the BOV. Installed on the Daytona with the new port open to atmospheric pressure this valve has held without leaking at 30 psi! And the best part is...
I’m not talk about the stock, unmodified bov. I’m talking about the mod where the hole on the bottom is plugged and a nipple is added that connects to the hat (above the diaphragm). I think this is still referred to the old dodge colt mod.
Wouldn’t the source be the same as what you’d use for the 1g modded bov? I’m interested in the answer for this as well.I do believe that you won’t want to tap into you wastegate line. It’s been years since I dealt with all this and am getting back into it again.
I’ve been out of the scene for awhile. The last time I was really active was when the FP 18g SL2 was on a group buy (2009?).Thanks to Justin, I had a little update on the DSM world. What do you guys think of the Kinugawa CHRA’s (this the wheels and without)? I see them on eBay and wanted...
Justin, so the 18gsl2 has an 06 turbine wheel and the hta68 has a 05h - is that right? If I can remember correctly the sl2 had a slightly different 06 turbine wheel than normal. What I want to know is what was done differently to the 68hta vs different 20g turbos (tdo5 20g and the tdo6...
Holy Crap! Thanks for the links! I did some searching but, didn't really know about the 68hta. I searched the 18gsl2 and didn't find a whole lot on it (mostly older post and some guys talking about shaft play).I could see the EvoIII getting smoked by the 68hta. I just didn't know how...
So, with all that said - it still seems like a great turbo. I still don't totally understand why it isn't available anymore. How much of a better turbo in terms of spool time is the new 68hta? I see that the 68hta has a great pressure ratio. I wish I could find more technical aspects of...
Wow, I guess I have been gone too long. When I was in Minnesota I couldn't really mess with my car too much. When loading my GSX onto the auto transport, a freeze plug shot out of the block shooting coolant everywhere.I didn't get to mess with the new turbo much. I wonder where any...
After being away from the DSM scene, I come back and see no one is selling the 18GSL2. I had just bought one before moving to Minnesota during the tail end of the FP 18g group buy.All the EvoIII turbos were completely out of stock and MAPerformance helped me find another alternative...
A draining battery shouldn't affect the idle. If its running, check the power output of the alternator with a multimeter. It should be above 12.5(?) volts (I don't remember exactly). Normal is around 14 volts. If your having a tough time starting your car (ie. low cranking power, hardly...
So, what is the condition of your timing belt and tensioner? Are they old/new? Is it easy to push the plunger into the hydrolic tensioner or do you need a clamp? Your cams have nothing to do with this like what Mike said. Parts can crap out over time and you may need to replace something.
If anyone is scared and/or doesn't like the military or anything about it, don't join. But I coose that life. If was that or die gang bangin'. You decide.
Brunz, you are an angry dude. Don't put that kind of stuff up here. The Corps wasn't like that. You most have forgot how it really was. How are you declorated?
I used royal purple synchro fluid and had no problem with it but, I would say go with the Pensoil Synchromesh and the auto parts store. If you want, you may go ahead and order the Redline.I don't know why BG fluid is too thin but, I have been told that us Dsm'rs have been using it for...
Pneumo, the engagement point did not shift (in my opinion). It seemed to be the same as the stock master cylinder.Could you please explain the Isuzu slave cylinder, what the install is like, what additional parts may be needed and what Isuzu the slave cylinder comes?
Update!!!! I went through all this trouble to install a wilwood 7/8" master cylinder.
I cut some stuff in the firewall to make it fit, ordered special fittings. The result, No difference in clutch throw and it feels like a much heavier pedal. If you got problems with your...
I would actually want to use the heim joint for adjustability on the length or throw. I makes sense and unfortunately these cable tend to break and stretch like the parking brake.
That will work just fine. You need to make sure and find a way to get it to hook up to your oil cooler. In my honest opinion, I would get a new oil cooler (earl's plumbing?) and hook that up. Its completely up to you. I just think it would be easier to just get a new setup.
Oh good..... Thats a relief. I am thinking of getting that setup to replace my greddy 24v intercooler kit. What do you think about the intercooler itself? Also for everyone: What is your impression of said intercooler?
What!!! These intercoolers are only 2.5" thick?! WTF So, there is some false advertisement going on?How many people actually got that intercooler kit and is it worth it?
Hey Guys, I got some links for you to look at.Wilwood Aluminum Master Cylinders - JEGS
Wilwood 260-1304 - Wilwood Aluminum Master Cylinders - summitracing.com
Wilwood 260-5920 - Wilwood Combination Remote Mount Master Cylinder Kits - summitracing.comI would personally go with the first...
Just another update on this. I went and looked at summitracing.com and found a few master cylinders that are made by wilwood and a few other guys that are universal. They have the larger bore that we want and seems like they would only require a little bit of modification.I think the...
Hey, I want to bring this back. I am thinking of doing this to allow for adjustment on stretched shifter cables. From what I calculated, in order to do this, it would be a fraction of the cost of buying new shifter cables.I am thinking of doing this myself. I think it would like...
I don't understand what your talking about. A little white piece of plastic? WTF Where exactly? From what I gather, shifter cables tend to stretch over time. Some cars have an adjustment on them while ours don't for some reason. My 1st and reverse will grind while going into...
Are shifter cables still on national back order? I see extremepsi has them available. They are $94. The dealer sells them for $63. I am not sure why extremepsi sells them $30 more than they dealer. I guess this might be why. LMAO!!!!
I was kind of refering to the duralast brand but, I also wanted to know about the other "oem" brands. I also wanted to know how NGK stacked up (the wires that you get from extreme psi for instance). From what I remember, NGK made oem mitsubishi wires but, I am not sure how true that is...
