The specs of that turbo are a bastard 20g. That is a billet 20g compressor wheel with a td05 turbine wheel, which is the same hot side and turbine wheel for the standard evo3 16g. That's where your limitation will be on the top end.I think there's a little bit of overselling going on from...
Oh ok sweet. Well you might have a hard time with that turbo, and you're losing spool with that exhaust manifold on a 16g. For what you have and want, I'd get a bitter turbo and some 272s, anything but BC. You're gonna have to run that 16g at the ragged edge. Sure you could do the cams now and...
Jason is right! But what do you plan to do with that car? If it's a daily or you don't race it, save the cash on the cams. If you're going to race it, what are your goals? Is this a 2g? Getting an evo3 intake manifold would be a great upgrade and compliment that turbo and money better spent than...
This is awesome! It would be cool if you had a product category or a big icon on your website that takes you to your in house made products, instead of them being mixed in with all the other parts. But yeah everyone needs this middle cover! Do you plan on making more cover parts? I know i'd...
Ok yeah get all of that connected to the ECU. Your problem with driving right now is the Ecu has been told to ignore the maf because you're running speed density, but you don't have any of the speed density sensor defined in the inputs tap. So the car has no clue what to do.
Need some more information. Looking at your log, it looks like you have speed density halfway enabled, but there's also not really a tune on the car at all. What mods have you done?
Hmm that is interesting. There's still the matter of you not hitting your target afr before the meth hits. i think that a separate issue than the smoke screen.Yeah try the check valve right at the nozzle!I'm running the same amount of boost on almost the same size turbo. 25g.
What turbo and how much boost are you running? sounds like you need to kick the meth on sooner?I have the exact same kit running from the EGR with link and mine is plumbed almost the exact same way except, I don't have any solenoids, just the check valve right behind the nozzle. I'm also...
Yeah we actually had to use all of the DOHC timing components. That'll be in either the next video, or the one after that, if you want to see video of what we did.
We're doing a 2g ecu/ecuplugs, but merging it into the vista harness to keep the routing through the body nice. The reason for the 2g ecu is I had one with link laying around already, for tuning, I like the 2g knock sensor better, ECU fan control, and more I/O than a 1g.We were already gonna...
Hey there! Love to see more vistas with 4G63 swaps. I'm one of the guys doing the turbo 4g63 swap on youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsbqDt7k1camW6b2TrE3Piw/videosI'm not sure if it helps you, but we plan to actually use a 2g ecu and do a harness merge.
But what you could do is...
Stock cams, only went to about 6500rpm. I can't find the exact log but here is one i found of when we were in the middle of the tune process (and hit 36.6) so the maf comp and injectors aren't quite right in this one. got a hair of knock before I pulled a little timing and then dialed in the afr...
My buddies car that we just finished building has just a regular evo3 16g and we hit 37lbs/min at 16psi. tuned by me its a stock 1g block with a 2g manifold super ported and a punishment o2 dump and a full 3" turboback, 2g Maf, PTE 780s, 3" hard intake, on 93 oct. abs, power steering, ac...
For the airflow to be accurate your Maf calibration has to be accurate across your open loop pull. Don't look at boost est unless you have a map sensor to compare it to.Basically adjust your Maf compensation so that your wbfactor is as close to 0% as possible and your airflow value should be...
I just don't like the HP/tq calculations cause you never get the weight quite right and other variables. Airflow is airflow regardless of if you're going uphill or have 55 watermelons in your DSM lol.Everytime I've compared that HP formula to what the dyno said, it was within 5% for the...
I would look at your airflow. It's a much better gauge of horsepower. I'm at work right now so I can't see the log. Basically if you take your airflow in lbs/min and multiply it by 10.5 that's a pretty close estimate of your CRANK horsepower. And then you just calculate for drivetrain loss and...
My car did it and didn't throw a code but actually misfired. Trust me. Switching the injectors isn't going to do anything but maybe smooth yu idle a touch. But you're saying you have a 1g cas but still have your crank angle sensor installed? In order to run the 1g cas you HAVE to use the signal...
you're getting a random misfire caused by combining the crank and cam angle sensors into 1 (1g CAS) you need to disable the check for the misfire code in link or with a black box ecu. if you don't have a way to tune, you need to do this mod.Even though you may not be getting a CEL it's...
It's definitely the cheaper way to go. and you can get the same results as Link but you just have to learn a little more. Feel free to ask any questions! Just ask them in here so other people can benefit also! also to save some money try looking for an openport 2.0 used on the evo and subaru...
I actively tune with this method and It's my daily and I'm fairly comfortable with with program so I'll try and help anyone with any questions they have. I'm running 650cc injectors with a 20g running 20psi 11.5:1 a WOT with no knock. so I've got it figured out pretty good. I also have a 6bold...
Hey guys and girls, Just like the title says, I'm looking for a mostly if not completely stock 2g GSX or AWD Talon.Let me know what you have!Text me at (260-255-4152)-Nate
yeah the air leaking into the crankcase point to piston rings. had the same thing happen to me. I had a bad PCV valve and had tons of crankcase pressure. it blew rings, valve seals, turbo seals, everything. since it looks like valve seals and rings in your case too you probably can't get away...
Definitely looks like a toast valve seal but I would say there's something else causing 0 compression like a burnt/bent valve.Do a leakdown test to see exactly where the problem lies. that'll tell you what's wrong before you start pulling stuff apart!
Update! So I took the head off and here is what I found. Everything is juts covered in oil and carbon, there's oil in my exhaust port, there's coolant in my oil (chocolate pudding), there's coolant on the HG. good lord lol.So what do you guys think, HG, valve stem seals, or piston rings?
Alright leakdown results!Cyl1 - 15%
Cyl2 - 20%
Cyl3 - 20%
Cyl4 - 20%The air is coming out of these places. percentage based on sound and feel.
All cylinders were the same. also for the test I didn't have the turbo or intake in.80% Oil cap. I can feel it there.
10% Dip stick tube. can't...
The PCV valve took pressure and didn't let any air through. No out of the ordinary shaft play on the turbo. didn't get a chance to take it out and check it.Compression test results were 110 cold, 120 warm, and 124ish wet. It's a 6-bolt block.
Thanks Justin, I'll check the turbine side for oil this afternoon and report [email protected] Mario
Do you know of any other way to check a pcv valve? I have 3 OEM ones and the one that rattles the best is the one that's on it.
Yeah that's what it's looking like. although the wheels looked like that when I got it. But I would much rather it be the turbo than the valve seals or piston rings haha.I hope its the turbo haha. 240k?! that's pretty impressive haha. Thank you for you help. I'll report back tomorrow!
