Hi guys,I'm swapping out my old school FP Green for a new FP black and noticed their are water line hookups for the black turbo (the old green was oil only). I have no idea where my stock water lines are, it's been a long time and my water lines have long been capped off.The plan is to run...
Hi guys, I've been researching this check engine light issue I'm having but can't get it sorted out, hopefully you can help.I'm working on my brother's 1g gst and his check engine light comes on only when the car is at idle, however the car idles perfectly. The second you give it any gas the...
So I'm guessing nobody has created a kit for the back seat delete? Guess I will have to look into making one, maybe from spare carpet from a dsm at the junk yard?
What was the 95-96 blue color called? I think it was blue celtic pearl or something along those lines. I had one and it was really nice, although everyone said it was purple lol
@spiritturbo thanks man, it's gonna be a long project I [email protected] kid Yep you're right you have to remove the oil pan which of course includes he exhaust, transfer case, and axle. It's funny you mentioned removing the motor because I was thinking about this last night. It's my fault...
Thanks Chrysler Kid and Tametalon, I really appreciate the help! When removing the front case what else needs to be removed besides the usual timing belt parts? Do I need to remove the oil pan? Also while doing this is there anything else that could be a potential leak inside the front case...
Thanks for the input TameTalon, I should note I pulled that pic from a google search sorry, it's not my motor. It was easier to point out than my motor since it's in the car lolBut good point about the oil pump housing gasket! Is the top of that gasket/housing right around the tensioner arm...
Hey guys sorry it's been a while but I have a slight update. Took everything off and used my drill to spin the oil pump. Oil pump sprocket seal was leaking big time so I replaced that. Put everything back together and of course it was still leaking, not as bad but still leaking.Took off the...
Thanks everyone for the help, I'm going to pull off the timing belt and spin the oil pump and that should pin point the leak, I will keep everyone updated :)
@2gmitsueclipse Ok regarding spinning the oil pump I found some socket adapters I can use with my drill to spin the pump. Looks like I can do that once I have the timing belt disassembled, does that sound about right? That should help pinpoint the leak for sure I would think?
@2gmitsueclipse Yep have the timing covers off but still can't pinpoint the leak. I have not tried spinning the oil pump with the motor off, any tips on how to do that exactly? Will that cause any issues? [email protected] @97 eclenger That was my original thought but the leak seems to be from...
@Chumpaumpalumpa Definitely not driving it, starting it for about a minute and checking for leaks (which I know is also dangerous/not ideal but I gotta find this leak)[email protected] Read those and several other threads before posting, seems like the cam seals are a common trouble area for...
@bobster22388 Are you talking about these two bolts on the auto tensioner?I thought it could be from there originally but when I did the UV test it seemed to come from the tensioner pulley/tensioner arm area. Any idea if the right bolt on the tensioner arm intersects an oil passage?
Hey guys I'm trying to track down the dreaded timing belt oil leak. A little background, it's a built 6 bolt into a 2g with only about 2500 miles on the motor. Originally I was slightly concerned about high oil pressure but I'm not sure if high oil pressure would be the culprit behind this leak...
Sorry for the late response [email protected] Old school FP Green I had laying [email protected] It's been about a month since the car really ran but if I remember correctly it was about 15psi while warmed up at idle which seems normal. Also I took off the OFH and noticed the relief valve had...
Planning on porting the ofh this week. Does my oil pressure reading seem really high though? It's at 70psi at 3k rpms and 85psi at 5k. I'm going to turn the boost all the way down and see if I can get a reading of oil pressure at 7k later today so I can see what the max pressure is.
Hey guys I've read a ton of threads regarding high oil pressure. Recently installed a built 6 bolt w/o balance shafts.I understand there's a good chance of high oil pressure when you remove the balance shafts and I need to port the OFH relieve valve which is on my list to do. There is...
Perfect thanks for the help 19Eclipse90! In my research I didn't see anyone use tap source 1 and thought it was weird as it seems like it would be the easiest.
Hey guys I'm installing an AEM Oil Pressure gauge with the STM oil pressure OFH install kit and I want to verify where to tap for the oil pressure line. The kit uses a 3/8" fitting which looks to replace one of the plugs on the oil filter housing. I see two possible locations for install but...
