yeah it def is a little precarious for sure, BUT they are level and I tacked them stands on the dollies. It works too for moving it around the garage and freeing up space. Learned last time that it SUCKS when you get it up on the stands and where it is is where it stays. With winter around the...

Storage is getting full but keeps the garage space free to work. Definitely learned this from the last build that space is a premium when working around the body.Got her into position to start the dirty work.

    Street Build ITFLYS - 1Gina2G

Yup, I put a billet wheel on my evo 3 16g as well as the rebuild kit from Justin and I had a noticeable difference in spool and boost. Just my little bit of experience.

Well, definitely had some fun pushing out all the bushings in my build and @bettfootball as well. Some of it takes creative thinking to get them in the press and for others I had to use the all thread and sockets method. For the rear subframe bushings it took even more extreme work but got it...

Ok, back at it!! Seem to be fully recovered and did A LOT of the A87 to get it ready for resto. Dropped all the fuel and brake lines since I am running new fuel lines and also need the full access. Also has soooooooooo much fun pressing out bushings and helping another member gets theirs...

Finally an answer lol! Thank you dude.

Who is going to the Shootout in OCTOBER?

I see how to purchase tickets for crew and racers and for pit parking, but I do not see how to purchase just two days as a spectator. Does anyone know if this is just something you purchase as the ticket counter or something? I have plans for Friday and can only make Saturday and Sunday. I also...

    29th Annual Shootout - 2022

I am not competing in the event just want to watch two of the days so where should I be looking for tickets? Is that something I just buy at the gate? Still do not see how to purchase just a couple days of spectator tickets...Also, will you be bringing DSMTuners merch with you to the event...

Wanted 2g Looking for 1997 Eclipse Owners Manual

I am hoping to find a 1997 Eclipse Owners manual that someone may have stashed somewhere or just sitting on a shelf. Bought a roller and for some reason it has a 1998 manual but mine is a 1997. I will trade of course if someone wants the 1998. Thanks everyone.

Did get the shield and tank dropped finally. So entire frame is now open (besides brake lines which are coming off too) for me to start restoring. Going to take it super slow and recover as well.

    Wait was Worth It

Yeah I have found that I have ZERO stamina still and working in the garage is very tiring. I may have over exerted myself pulling the tank and everything as well but did get it done. I never lost taste or smell but I was vaccinated to maybe that is why. Getting better day by day though.

Well for those that were curious, the abs harnesses slid right out. No fighting or hammering at all. One little twist and popped right out. Says a lot, to me, about how rust free this shell is.Also broke down the rear e-brake shields and getting everything ready for powder coat.Also...

Lowered and pulled the front subframe and broke everything down. Have a nice pile for the scrap bin now as well.Anyone want to take bets on if the abs harnesses slide out or not hahaha? I have them soaking in kroil right now and a couple of them look OK, but two others looks rough as usual.

Pulled the tweeters from a 2G Grey Dash and thought maybe someone could use them before I scrap them. $10 plus shipping and they are yours. Unknown if they are working or not, BUT I did “pop” them with a small battery and they at least respond. For local pick up they are in Aurora, CO.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to point that out! I got the idea when I was using an aircraft tool at work that is very similar. I remember from the first restoration that the biggest issue was once the car was up on jack stands that’s where it stayed and if I needed more...

Well, can’t say that I am not putting some work in. After this weekend I know it would be a while before I had a chance to touch the A87 again so went ahead and hammered out some tough work today. Need access to the entire frame to restore it just like the previous A52 GSX so here is the biggest...

I had planned on waiting until the build was MUCH further than it was for really large purchases but I couldn’t help snag this from a local dsm guy. It was on the build plan the entire time and now it’s a reality. So happy about it and it comes with the plexiglass!!

So I will start another post about this mystery head I got so we can all solve it but I kinda want to get back to the actual build. I have no intentions to even use the head but may keep it as a spare once we nail down exactly what the hell it is. But anyway, I finally got around to swapping the...

Lol I know that. He asked if the cam side where the sensor mounts is threaded and I took a pic to show that no, it is not threaded. I also found there is no sensor mount on the gear side either.Or is there?

Good eye dude. Was curious if anyone would spot it. It is a 99 Spyder GS-T that an older gentleman owns. He noticed my first GSX when I moved in and then of course now the second A87 and we were talking one day before he was about to start a bike ride. Apparently he is the original owner and it...

Rust returned, what did I do wrong?

It can honestly vary. When I was looking around for places in Cali I would just call the shop and ask for a quote. Once I got one kind of in the middle I would then look up their work and reviews and go from there. The place I ended up going with was so good on price, professionalism and quality...

Rust returned, what did I do wrong?

Been saying this since day 1 haha. Goes for ANY metal part you can remove. Other wise wire wheel it, use the por15 metal prep then por15 "paint".

Well, got started on the interior since I need to get at the pedals and everything related. Removing every single metal piece I can to be powder coated so there is never an issue with this ugly surface rust that develops on everything. So looked at it again and it is a hybrid of a 1G and 2G which makes me thing it’s def an Evo head. It has the thermostat housing of a 1G but runners and exhaust stud sizes of a 2G. Either way it’s going on the shelf since I have plans to use the magnus intake I bought years ago haha. Glad you...

I also did a quick google search and does seem to be an Evo head. It has the small runner features of the 2G but thermostat feature of a 1G haha. I am not sure if I should even keep it or give it to someone that may need it. We will see I guess. I am also now going to double check the block when...

Well I did get around to breaking down the block and started on the head as well. Plan was to send everything out to be hot tanked/bored over and then high temp painted. Now I am not really sure I want to bore it over. May just keep it pretty stock and just replace the rings...

Thank you man. I am pumped with everything so far and sooo happy I found such a good roller. So far zero rust and MOST everything seems to be there haha. Only one broken bolt so far too which is amazing.
  36. Dusty Landrum

    Wait was Worth It

Oh no, the car is not a rear engine powered, it was just thrown in the trunk when it was shipped. Can't complain though since I would have paid what I did just for the completely rust free shell, so getting the drivetrain with it was a huge bonus.

2G Door won’t open.. Help me get into my car!

If the passenger handle it completely missing, then take off the tape covering the hole and look through it for the rod that goes to the door jam. You should be able to open it this way. It has been a while, but I THINK you will push the rod downward and that should pop it open.

Is it possible to still snag a set at the old price? Been holding off on some parts until I get to that stage in the build, but if I can save some money on them NOW then I will snag a set now.
