you could tell by the huge ZEX or NOS sticker on the side of the car........or by the sound of someone screaming SHUT UP and slaming a laptop closed.

also, dont forget that if a peice of metal flys out from behind the car and shoots sparks everywhere, then you know they just used their nitrous.

 You guys are FUNNY! I can smell it when they squeeze:laugh: or I can hear it hiss when they pass by me:laugh: You guys crack me up. The only way to know if somebody is running nitrous is to THOUROUGHLY check their intake plumbing to the manifold. Wet shots are a bit harder to hide than dry shots. I've have seen dry shots hidden so good that I would never find any lines unless I was told where to look. But as far as all that hissing and funny smell stuff goes, that is just Ridicolous.

you can smell it ;)

right now iam running a aem short ram intake and 65 shot of zex wet nitrous. When i was running a 55 my friends could hear it when i blow by them. i could also hear it inside . My brother in law runs a dry zex system on his gsr and i have sprayed his car and i have never heard anything come out. People can usually tell because of the kick the nitrous gives my car. At first it looks like a regular all motor car but when the nitrous is on and full pressure its all over. Right now im waiting for my motor to be finished and ill be running a 75 shot with 1 deg. colder plugs msd ignition (wires , ign.coil) ive got a header but still waiting to finish the head work. People know i spray because i removed my back seats and placed the bottle on the center hump. and i have the switch by my shifter. If you dont look in my car you cant see anything. (SLeepers are the greatest) Surprise Surprise :dsm: :dsm:

You can also tell if a flame with a color that matches there paintjob shoots out of there exaust... but be careful, the welds on the manifold might go...

oh yeah and there turbo gage will fly up, and there head will wip back into there seats and everythign goes blurry, and if a gang of asian motorcyclists shoots there car and it blows up, they probably have NAWZ

Guys, this is a serious tunning forum. Grow up. If you don't have anything to contribute to the thread, than don't post!! This isn't a fast and the furious thread or any of that bullshit.

Do you have direct proof you can't hear large shots of nitrous being injected from outside the car? It would make since you can hear it. A gas going into a tube at a high pressure. Maybe in a turbocharged car the the turbo and intercooler dampening the sounds a bit. But you would most likly be able to hear it in non turbo car with a solid intake.

The only way for sure to tell is someone is running nitrous is checking their intake.

The best way to tell is to sneak into their garage late at night and look under the hood.
You dont wanna take a chance on losing at race wars.

*Serious answer= ask em and see. Some people are proud to show off there stuff.*

^ exactly! :thumb:

Have you ever heard of a purge kit, when the lines are over pressurized the purge valve releases excess gas into the atmoshpere giving you the hiss, and the smell is a sweet kind of smell and the revs pick up a hell of alot when the gas is hit.

purge kit only purges when u hit the button and its not for overpressure its to get nitous at all in the line so as soon as u hit button its there

you can smell it and if high enough shot u can here it my dad had on 1970 gmc pickup with 150 shot and 500 whp before nitro

was the top paragraph a quote or were you just contradicting yourself? i thought that the purge kits do both, purge to get excess air out of the line, and when the pressure gets to high?

P.S. i dunno but do you guys like the old confused face better? the yellow one? i do

what about a purge kit? there are some people out there who only have nitrous to purge it and "look cool" and not even runnin it to their motor...

you can also look for the nitrous solenoids somewhere in the engine bay
