I was merging onto the interstate a couple days ago, boosting pretty hard (about 14psi sustained for 30 secs). Decellerated and saw a HUGE plume of grey oil smoke pouring out my tail pipe. Cleared up after about 10 secs. But, I figure that's probably the seals on my turbo going kaput, right? Still spools fine, but... Time to upgrade! So I need help picking out a turbo, injectors, fp and intercooler.

Right now I have already ordered a 2.5" turbo back with test pipe, ported o2 housing, GM MAF w/T, and pocketlogger kit. I'm looking at probably getting an Evo 16g (ported or no port?), Evo exhaust manifold (or 2g ported?), probably 660 injectors, and either a 190lph or 255llph pump. The 255 would probably be best for my hp goals, right? What would be the best FPR to get with it that doesn't cost a ton?

I still have the stock intercooler and piping, so I'm trying to figure out what to do there... What's the max boost I could run on stock IC with a blowthru uicp? If I go bigger, should I get a upgraded smic, supra smic, or fmic? If I get an fmic, what's a reasonably priced kit? If not a kit, what's a good core if I get my own pipes fabbed? Thanks all!!!

Any T3/T4 50 trim turbo will do for 400whp. The Evo III with never get close to 400whp.

Any FMIC will work. 750-850cc/min will be required with an Aeromotive FPR. No B&M risers unless you want to be a ricer. ;)

Not lookin for 400whp, just fwhp... So with awd that'd be like 360whp. I don't want to spend more than $600 on the turbo.

LOL FWHP and WHP are the same thing LOL FWHP=front wheel horse power WHP=wheel horse power. You could get a big 16g with $600 but you wont get 400FWHP/WHP LOL. I suggest the PTE 50trim T3/T4 :thumb: It's around $800 but well worth it.

Hmmm ok, well, in my previous world of the FD3S, fwhp stood for "fly wheel horse power". *shrugs* Whatever. That's what I meant, not the actual power to the ground.

AWD drivetrain loss is closer to 20%, so 400fwhp would be more like 320whp. The fwhp threw me at first too, but I firgured it out.

I know it sounded that way but I didnt mean any rudeness sorry bout that. It's cool though I still recommend the PTE 50 trim.

yea get a 50trim...i currently have a Big16g. Its a good turbo but i now want more so next year im going 50trim.

I would recoment dejontool's front mount intercoolers, i have the 2g Racecore FMIC and its hella sweet. I have a buddy with a 1g with a street fMIC and it to its amazing...
you should plan what your trying to do (turbo) so you stage for it
Fuel system---750s should be fine for that kind of powre
FPR i would recomend the fullthrottlespeed FPR its a true bolt on and it has a port for a FPGauge
