the evo3 boost creep continues
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/sho...&highlight=evo3

jsut to let everyone know. That method didnt work for me I have alot of creep still. I ported it out as it says plus im running a external dump. I can go about 70% throttle now without creep. I have ran it off the manifold to the wastegate bypassing the mbc. I have worse control then and it creeps more. I have tried tieing the flapper open and i still build boost and if it is a higher gear then it still will creep to 20+psi. Tonight with all this done and the flapper, mbc, and everything hooked up, I am still htting 22-28psi in the gears. The worst part is it creeps worse in the lower gears than the higher ones.ITs really weird.
I have read most people also dont start building boost till 2500 rpms. For some reason i get 3psi by 1798 rpms. That was on the dyno. That was the first reading. All i can say something is different about my turbo. Not sure if its a good or bad thing. I am really frustrated with it, i think i am going to finally bite the bullet, buy a 38mm wastegate, and a tubular o2 housing for it and go external wastegate. Of course without knowing why mine will not control the boost, I am a little afraid. With the wategate passage wide open going to a external gate, it has to work i believe. I ahte to covert this turbo to external gate but i am quickly running out of options. If anyone has any suggestions or comments please share.

You need a 34mm gate, just order from Slowboy. They're not that expensive and they're easy to install. Then port the hell out of the wastegate hole to match and grind down the wall behind it to let it open completely. I have a small 16g with a full 3" O2 housing to 3" all the way back and have zero creep, I've even run 12 psi before with no problems. Try the gate, it works.

i refuse to go with the 34mm flapper.IT does not fit properly in the evo3 housing. It blows open in the upper rpms. Almost everyone who has installed it also reports it does not fix their problems. Ill probally just end up going external next month

I installed the 34mm flapper a few weeks ago, and it pretty much stopped creep for me. Before, even after porting everything, i would get creep all the way up to 20 in 2nd and 3rd. Now i have my boost set at 10 psi and it holds almost rock solid all the way through third, it creeps only 1-2 psi now.

mine wont even hold solid at 20psi. It will hold it solid till about 5k rpms then it creeps to 24+

what kind of cams are you running? I advance the exhaust cam some and creep seems less now. used to creep 19--21 psi now like18psi. (if I would turn the boost down:D )

well it was holding better today since it was hot. It was holding 20-22psi in 1st and 2nd. 3rd it would creep to 24-25psi

Actually, mine wasn't ported by FP, it was sent to AMS, $65
