Hello,
I'm having trouble with my clutch pedal :(
A couple of days ago on a road trip it started sticking to the floor in the middle of the drive. I pulled over, checked the fluid level (which was fine) and when I started the car back up again it felt better. After being on the road for a few minutes the clutch started sticking again. Fluid level is still fine and I haven't seen any leaking fluid under the car or on the pedal. Whatever the problem is it seems to get worse the longer the car runs, then magically gets better when I restart it.

I've done the searches and run across all the threads about crankwalk (I don't think it's CW, I have the problem when stopped, not just when turning) and also read the threads about master/slave cylinder problems. Since I haven't seen any leaking fluid it would seem to rule out the master/slave cylinders based on what little I know...

Anyways I'm at a loss what to do, any suggestions?

thanks, Scott

bleed the system... better yet replace all the clutch fluid (as I think peopel tend to bleed and neglect the actual fluid). Put NEW fluid in and bleed the hell out of it then come back and tell me if its still happeneing :thumb:

Good idea, I need an oil change anyways so I'll kill two birds with one stone. Hopefully that'll fix it, I don't really wanna have to start replacing stuff :p

same prob too only mine doesn't really stick all the way down it kind of does when letting off the pedal it will stick for a moment about half way up and the engangment point moves around alot. tried to adjust the pedal and it just made the pedal pump up and clutch start to slip:thumbdown

Would the clutch slipping cause it to hesitate at all? Mine kinda sticks, but I attributed it to the clutch slipping (it slips through second gear).

Sounds like you're having the same problem I am, it doesn't stick all the way to the floor but the longer I drive the car (especially if I'm cruising on the highway and not using the clutch) the engagement point starts moving closer and closer to the floor. The clutch pedal starts only coming up part-way as well... fluid level is still fine so I don't think it could be the master or slave cylinders leaking either. I'd like to figure out what the problem is before it gets much worse.

idk what it is but i would love to figure it out, i just had my motor rebuilt 3,000 miles too, i've heard that clutch pedal adjustments problems are early signs of crankwalk or something. sometimes my brand new crank pulley will wobble and than other times it won't. i don't understand

Hi guys... i read all the problem that yall have on this topic...actually ...my car just recover from this "disease" like couple days ago... so i hope that my advise would help you guys to fix it.

Ok! Here is my problem.....first..I feel my clutch was like going soft and soft..and not after another min..my clutch has no more pedal. So i have my car checked ..and it was the slave problem cuz i was leaking fluid..that's easy...so my mechanic changed the slave.....but I think everyone knows that if you change the slave , you should also change the clutch master cyclinder cuz your master cyclinder will be messed up if your slave is leaking....but my mech checked it and he tried to save me money..so he only changed the slave....that day...the car ran good..
but rite after i turned off the car...the pedal start acting weird...the engagepoint moved up a lot....i can only tap the pedal half way thru....because i keep drving my car with this situation...i messed up my master cyclinder....so I changed it the other day, then bleed the whole system again.....and my clutch worked fine for another hour..........

Then here we go....that nite...i got the same ass problem...when i steped on my clutch....my engagepoint moved up again.... and i can barely launch it............. finally , my mechanic adjust the pedal for a lil bit more free play.....and it works fine now....it's been like 5 days..since i last adjusted the pedal...so it should be fine......

Here raise another question... my mechanic DID adjusted the pedal everytime after he changed the slave or the master cyclinder, but y is it still need to be re-adjusted?? It's because you have to have like about an inch and half free play on the pedal........ hope this could help

yeah, i think i have the same problem ur referring to. I will put my clutch down and then let it off and i'll feel it sticking for just a second a few inches from the top. but it will always come back up all the way like a split second after my foot comes off of it fully. so far it hasn't caused any problems in the way it drives or works or anything, but it's more annoying than anything.

put it in 1 gear take off take the rpms all the way up to redline then shift it in to 5th and if the engine ravs high and you dont go anywhere your clutch is bad but if the engine bogs down then you clutch should be good :thumb:

Ive been having the same problem.Im having a hard time figuring out what it is also. It aggrivates the hell out of me,but It seems to do it more often when its colder out.Its such a pain in the ass.Or if I leave my car in neutral outside running while it warms up,when I go to drive off the pedal sticks like a mofo, and if I pump it a few times it helps just a little.
